《The Robomechanic Wanderer》Chapter 9 – Overworld enemies

The sun set off in the distance and clouds started to cover the skies. A orange glow shone high above whatever remained of the abandoned lands downwards. Two young men and a young lady walked together on a single road which leads to a house far from the rest of the city. In better conditions this house would likely belong to a wealthy family. But right now it is empty as the trio entered the living room which was easy because the front door was wide open. They noticed that the table was still set up for dinner. A half-finished steak was left on the dishes and a half glass of wine beside it. Ronald shivered on the sight. While Collin and Sophie casually started to clean up the dish but while they tried to open the tap nothing came out of it. Sophie looked confused at Collin. “
What now?” she asked.
Collin grabbed a bucket from the toilet and something out of a cabinet.
He handed a box of matches to Sophie.
“Go and make a fire where we can boil this bucket of water on top.”.
Sophie nodded and Collin left. Collin walked to a nearby lake through a sand path which seems to have been placed there recently. While he walked over the path a small bird-like robot dove towards Collin. He fell over while the bird prepared their next attack.
A pop-up appeared right before Collin eyes who was sitting down with his mouth wide open.
>Host lost 2 hp
>18/20 hp left
>The system noticed that the host doesn’t have any minions.
>The system thought the host the wrench smash attack.>
>Wrench Smash:
>The user projectiles a virtual wrench which is used to hit an enemy
>Damage: 10% of users ATK ignores enemy’s DEF

>Cooldown 20 seconds
Collin sighed out of relieve.
“Use wrench Smash”
>Robo-bird lost 0.2 hp
“Oh yeah I am not a dps class…”
Collin ran around the robo bird quickly to get to the lake quickly.
>Robo-bird used dive attack
>Host lost 2 hp
>16/20 hp left
…
>Robo-bird used dive attack
>Host lost 2 hp
>14/20 hp left
…
>Robo-bird used dive attack
>Host lost 2 hp
>12/20 hp left
…
>Robo-bird used dive attack
>Host lost 2 hp
>10/20 hp left
“Why is the range of attack from those robots so wide!!!”
Collin saw the lake and dove right away in it. The bird flied away a few meters before the lake.
“…”
Collin went ahead and filled up his bucket with water and climbed out of it afterwards.
When he walked back using a different path he saw in the distance where the house was 10 birds flying around and scanning the area. He sighed and ran quickly to the house. While multiple birds noticed him and following him closely trying to hit him with dive attacks.
>Robo-bird #4 used dive attack
>Host lost 2 hp
>8/20 hp left
>Robo-bird #8 used dive attack
>Host lost 2 hp
>6/20 hp left
>Robo-bird #2 used dive attack
>Host lost 2 hp
>4/20 hp left
Collin kicked quickly ran inside the house and closed the behind him and put a lock on it. Afterwards he gave the now half-empty bucket to Sophie and sat down on the couch while putting his robomechanic kit down on the coffee table. The two looked confused at Collin and then through the window where four robo-birds were pecking the window. Ronald and Sophie nodded understandable and started to light up the fire and boil the water to remove the bacteria. After a while the water was boiled and the bucket was put on a table for it to cool down. After it cooled down Sophie started filling bottles with the water while Ronald was making sure the fire doesn’t burn down the house. Meanwhile Collin just finished making three more robo-boars and two robo-rats. He commanded the robots to clear out the robo-birds surrounding the house. After a few hours the surviving robot came back with the gears they gathered from the robo-birds in their mouth.

God sold us out and the world ended... well, sort of. God may have sold us, or at least, our universe but our world didn't end. Instead, the new owners decided to play, and we all know what that means: Monsters, a System, Magic, Cultivation, and, of course, two new moons! Thanks for reading! I appreciate the interest. This is a rough draft and is intended to flesh out some ideas for a novel that I had. Maybe figure out if I want to do this author thing, you know? If you want immediately OP MCs, fights every chapter, a harem, this is not the story for you. Sorry about that. If you're willing to put up with a long growth curve, an MC that doesn't know what he's doing most of the time but is trying his best both to survive and to help his friends survive, you might enjoy the story. I'm just trying to have fun, maybe create something that in a second draft I can sell on the eBook market. If you're not into that, not into providing helpful comments for revisions, hey, that's cool, but do us both a favor and stop reading now. ** Oh, release schedule For the first weeks, I'll be releasing a chapter (1800-3000 words) a day. Following that, I'll be releasing whenever the mood strikes me. If I get some feedback, the mood might strike me more often, hint! hint!

Having subdued its surrounding enemies, the former Sulic Empire is faced with unrest brewing from within. Society is torn in two. The reigning mentalists constantly persecute the subjugated elementals under the pretence of curbing the explosive potential of their destructive powers. Meanwhile, schemes and political interests clash as different groups within the Governance military elite vie for control. And in the shadows, Sulic’s old enemies have been lying in wait a long time, looking for the first sign of weakness to make their move. Against this backdrop, two ordinary individuals fight to maintain stability from opposing sides: a low ranking telepathic recruit with nothing to his name but good intentions, and an unregistered elemental contractor with a murky past. Can they reconcile their differences and help steer Sulic away from tearing itself apart? Windwalker explores themes of societal struggle and self-discovery. Book One: Rising Wind Kal has trained to be a soldier his entire life. His days are simple, and his duties clear: enforce the rules, upkeep the peace, and most important — police the elementals. If they step out of line, the Governance system corrects it. But when Kal encounters a young boy whom he suspects might be an illegal earthborn, he can’t bring himself to report him. Despite his training and the advice of friends, he decides to help him onto what he believes is the right path. This choice lands him in more trouble than he bargained for, and he soon discovers that the veneer the Governance is built upon an ugly and crumbling foundation.
