《Tyrant Named God》Nyarbog Lasothtep

From the Remnants of the Southern Empire rose a new power. This new power calls itself “Order of Horror,” As the name suggests, they are just that, horrors of hell unleashed upon the mortal realm. The council which rules over the mundane task of governing the daily activity in the new nation of demons consists of Ezizil, who had returned from his mission with a brand-new army at God's disposal. Under his command came the three great lieutenants of hell. Azgal, also known as the deity of piety, purged all sinners from her path. Sargal, the deity of greed, handled the new empire’s daily finances and Ulgran. Ulgran is the strongest of the three generals and is given the title deity of war.
The construction plans were going according to plan and, to an extent, progressed faster than anticipated. The entire kingdom had been reformed. The roads were torn apart from the siege, and what remained were rubbles tainted with blood. There was also a team of scouts set up by Ulgran to search the city for any potential humans.
The Imperial Capital, which was destroyed, was now used as the headquarters of the so-called Order of Horror. The Capital was built as a monument to the late king and decorated with exquisite marbles to enhance its appearance. Its exterior walls were covered in blood but more sinister than ever before. The walls were modified to be twice as tall as they were, reinforced with hellfire bricks and other chaotic materials. The outlying towers surrounding the main building were also upgraded with the most durable material, but the once gorgeous construct was now only an impressively large demon castle.
Inside the castle laid only a large throne, fit for an absolute ruler. The Southern Empire went all out with making this throne, and to an extent, it was the only thing they did that pleased God. God enjoyed giving orders sitting on his golden throne, yet he decided that the gold alone was not impressive enough, so he used illusion magic to enhance the throne’s size and made it look slightly more dark red.
A long black carpet laid across the hall. The fabric was created in hell with the use of the most durable material enhanced with magic crystals. This confused the demons who were expected to make this carpet because using magic crystals in something so insignificant was considered a waste.
God carried out his duties as if he had any, to begin with, yet he was not pleased with the current state of things. For one, his plans with doctor Bango had failed miserably. Another issue he had was that Alinta had directly disobeyed his commands. He gave her an order to protect doctor Bango, but her feelings got the best of her. Another issue he faced was that he had no allies to back him up. It would be easy to destroy all human races, but he did not want to be condemned for his actions, even if it was by lowly humans.
He wanted to play around with people’s emotions using his orb, causing further chaos for Rhea, yet he did not know what to do. Lost in thought, he was interrupted by Ezizil, who came in with a human advisor.
Ezizil and the advisor walked proudly into the room, which immediately got God’s full attention. Once they reached the throne, both bowed and awaited further instructions.
“You may rise.”
“Thank you, your highness.”
“Enough with the pleasantries. Tell me what has brought you into such a joyous mood Ezizil.”
“My lord, please allow me to first thank you for the right to stand here right now. I apologize for failing you back during the siege. On to the main topic, this human here is an advisor sent from the Octavian Empire.”
“The Octavian Empire? Ah, I remember them, yes… a nation full of criminals. very well then, let’s see what he has to say.”
“The Empire of Octavia and its citizens wish to support your cause.”
“I am to assume that you are acting without any self-interest?”
“As we have done ages past, our people are willing to rally behind your banner, my lord, no matter the cause. We only seek to thrive in the world you will bring about.”
“Tell your master that I accept his allegiance. Perhaps I should come north to visit?”
This statement shocked Ezizil and the advisor. Although the Octavian Empire was trying to establish ties with God, the last thing they wanted was the monster that killed for amusement in their home. “My lord, we are not worthy of such honor.” Said the advisor, now in fear for his own life.
“Oh, the pleasure is all mine, but please, we are rather busy renovating. Ezizil, could you guide him to our guest rooms?”
“If that is your order, then I must obey.”
“Smart… Also, Ezizil, while you’re heading out, scratch that. You are free to leave.”
Ezizil and the advisor both leave the throne room. Although the prior throne room was magnificent, it was now hollow, empty inside. God knew this as well.
God begins mumbling to himself, a natural habit he had obtained after spending so much time alone. “Damn it. This castle is an embarrassment to my name. I’m just not sure how to fill these halls. I want this place to look magnificent, fit for a true ruler. I keep making this damn throne bigger, but every time I do that, I have to increase my size too. There seem to be limitations of my power while I’m in this body too… When I was swinging my sword, it should’ve been much faster. Maybe I need more souls to enhance my strength... Some of my power has clearly not transferred over. There seem to be some slight changes in magic abilities that I need to explore as well. For one, I can’t seem to use teleportation magic with this vessel, probably because of all the souls inside of it… Which is slightly inconvenient. I wish I could just teleport to Grismala and kill her and her people off. Damn the limitations on this body. I need more souls if I want to do anything. On that note, I need to administer some sort of punishment for Alina. That damn brat keeps crying on everything. She is such a weakling. That doctor is the biggest disappointment of all. But it was funny the reward I gave him for his service, ahahaha.”
“Back to topic. Right. For now, that punishment can wait. I have to make preparations to march my army North. I wonder what type of person rules over Octavia now. I haven’t been interested in that country in a while, so I suppose it’s about time. I should probably make a good impression on their people and show off our military power.”
Once again, God was utterly overwhelmed by his consciousness. The large capacity of knowledge and information he could process had been drastically reduced due to his mortal vessel. Suddenly out of nowhere, Ulgran teleported right behind God to surprise him.
“Oh, my beloved creator! It is so good to see you!” Said Ulgran, wearing somewhat see-through attire in an attempt to seduce God.
“Ulgran! what brings you here?” Said God as he thought to himself, “Damn this woman, if she weren’t needed, I’d kill her right now.”

“Oh, don’t be bashful. You know I’m here for you, don’t you, darling?”
Ulgran rubbed God’s shoulders and said, “You know I’m always here for you. Why do you never visit? Could it be that you’re shy?”
“Back off, or I will smite you.”
“Whoa! what’s gotten on your nerves?” Said Ulgran as she proceeded to rub God’s shoulders.
“I said get back!” As he said this, pure feelings of anger enveloped the room. Black flames covered God’s body and burned Ulgran’s hands. Ulgran was a demon general, but she was terrified at the amount of evil energy radiating around him.
“You burned me! Agh! the pain! I’m sorry!! Please stop!”
“You finally learned your lesson, huh? Don’t play around with me from now, is that understood?”
“Yes! please make it stop!”
“Misbehave one more time, and I’ll send you back to hell, stupid demon.”
Ulgran runs away in tears. “Does God even love me? Why would he do this to his lover! Maybe it’s some sort of tough love those humans think about! that must certainly be it!”
“By the way! that’s certainly not it!” Said God as he pierced through Ulgran’s psychic defense and read her thoughts.
“Oh my! My beloved lord just pierced me! how naughty!”
“Get out of my sight, woman! Call Ezizil. I want to talk to him and summon all our demon generals to the throne room!”
“Oh! My beloved is talking to me like I’m his woman! Yes, my love! I tell everyone to come and watch how you act with me!”
Ulgran leaves the room in a hurry not to keep her beloved waiting. Meanwhile, God was almost about to burst into anger because he was surrounded by imbeciles.
God, in the back of his mind, got lost in thought once more…
“Stupid woman almost scared me with that. I have to be on guard not to overreact to certain situations. She does seem to have a genuine interest in me, so I don’t want to do anything to make her feel less of me, even though I don’t really care for her. She is strong, though. Maybe I can make her wear down Grismala before I kill them both in the future. Then again, I don’t know what Grismala is hiding. I certainly don’t want to fall into the same trap again. Anyhow…”
God yelled across the throne room, “You may enter!”
Ulgran had brought over the demon generals as God asked. Among them was Ezizil, who was promoted to be the right hand of God for the time being. As the demon generals approached the throne, Ulgran and Ezizil stood next to the throne facing the generals. There was one slight issue that God faced. Presentation.
The throne room looked empty, and the army consisted of low-level demons and slaves used for construction. This was undoubtedly a disadvantage he had no choice but to face.
It would have been a simple matter of just creating minions for God, which was suggested multiple times by Ezizil, but that would somehow damage God’s pride.
The demon generals looked up to the great ruler they were meant to serve. They were astonished by the level of horror God brought to the battlefield, and thus no one dared to speak against him. The whole room went quiet, awaiting God to give his demands.
God looked down from his throne to the generals standing before him. Although he was trying to create an impression, the demons in front of him looked weak. God had never conversed with these demons before and had no knowledge of the demon generals except Ulgran, the daughter of the highest-ranking demon in the underworld.
Ezizil stepped forward commandingly in front of the throne and ordered all the demon generals to bow and introduce themselves.
The first demon general looked up to God and said, “My lord, I am known as Azgal. I am the demon general of the mud pits and have been granted the title of Piety.” Azgal was a subspecies of fallen angels and thus had tattered angelic wings. She was pale as a white sheet and took pride in her appearance. She wore high-tier equipment to look presentable, with her most notable weapon (Cleaver of Armageddon). This weapon was approximately a 7th-tier item and could cause significant disasters without magic. The reason this weapon caught God’s eye was because of that fact. It was the only weapon that did not rely on the magic system they all used.
The second demon general did the same as the first. “My lord, I am known as Sargal of the deathly crawl. I command an army of the undead who are currently being used for your glorious construction efforts. I am the honorary holder of the title of Greed.” Sargal took a form of a giant beast with heavy armor covering his chest. The rest of his body was unarmored. He had an enchanted staff that could cast unholy healing magic, the only healing magic available for demons, and took thousands of hours of careful practice to master.
Finally, in God's opinion, the last demon general stepped forward—the most interesting of them all. “My lord, I am known as Trentin. I do not hold a title and have gotten thus far with pure credit. I was created from the skin of eldritch horrors and am a capable fighter. I hope I can serve you.” Trentin was the only demon that looked weak. His armor wasn’t impressive, but the fact that he stood before him could mean that he was either a hoax or talented. More testing was required on him.
“You may all rise.” Said God in a neutral tone, he was bored of their presentation and hoped they would’ve tried to make a move against him, but they didn’t.
Ezizil noticed discontent from God. He was displeased by the demon generals. If he didn’t act quickly, he thought they would certainly be used in the future as cannon fodder.
“My lord, all preparations have been made. You need not worry. While we were away, these four demon generals and I have been gathering an army worthy of transporting you. Please accept our absolute allegiance.”
“That’s excellent to hear. I am most pleased. I will inspect the troops right now; you may accompany me. But first, I want to set a hierarchy before we head out.”
Ezizil was slightly nervous that by discussing the hierarchy, God was trying to replace him. “What do you mean, my lord? Are you not satisfied with our accomplishments?”
“Your accomplishments so far have been satisfactory, but they are simply not enough. Ulgran has organized the army for us to move and has been one step ahead of you in all aspects. It is my decision to promote Ulgran to my right hand. From here on forward, Ulgran will be in charge of the forces, Ezizil will be my left hand, and will only act if his superior cannot. Is that understood?”
Everyone unanimously agreed to his demands, not like they had any choice. God’s presence alone gave off a menacing aura that caused the demon generals to maintain order.
“Well then, that matter is settled. As for the rest of you, your current ranks will remain as is. Ulgran, Ezizil, you may escort me to inspect the troops.”
Ulgran and Ezizil replied, “Yes, your highness.”
As God and his demon generals walked outside the palace, an enormous army of demons greeted them. They were all equipped to the teeth and nails with demonic weapons. The army consisted of mainly demonic warriors, who were classified as around level 5-10. These demons were called fell guards, who are incredibly weak against magic but have high physical resistance.
The second portion of the army consisted of the demon mages. Demon mages were elite troops of the demon army, each capable of leading an entire siege on their own. Their numbers amounted to around 200 strong and were considered around level 15-20. These mages had high magic resistance but low physical resistance.
The final portion of the army contained undead—a massive army at that. The army of the dead was not impressive, though. The risen dead were considered level 1 infantry, and a level 5 demon could easily smash through at least twenty level 1 zombies. But that was not the case here. Each zombie was given heavy enchanted armor boosting them up to levels 2-3.
This army totaled up to roughly 30200 soldiers strong. But the combat power of their army was on a much different level. This was the first actually equipped and organized demonic army the world had ever seen. Unlike the army during the siege of the Southern Empire, all of the demons present here were experienced fighters.
The moment God came outside, every single demon and zombie bowed down. God and his underlings were further escorted by demons wearing enchanted golden armor, which is helpful against magical attacks. The demons laid out a red carpet made of Gold for God to walk over. As they walked through the ranks, the demon generals were on the brink of exhaustion. The level of resistance required to not run away from God’s aura gave everyone a hard time. God knew this too well and expected at least a few hundred demons to run away, but they all bit their tongue and waited for them to finish their inspection.
At the end of the red carpet awaited another carriage. This time, the carriage was much different. It was custom crafted by Ulgran to resemble God’s enormous throne in the Palace. The Throne consisted of luxurious demonic material meant only for the most significant rulers. The Throne was much larger than the one in the throne room, and this time, humans wouldn’t be able to carry its heavy weight. Luckily, they could move the carriage through enhanced magic and demonic labor.
“Oh, this ride looks amazing! Ulgran, you have nailed it to perfection! Look Ezizil! This is what you call a carriage! Not that sad excuse you brought! ha-ha!”
Ezizil was fuming with anger and jealousy. He wanted to rip off Ulgran’s head for making such mockery of him. His anger could be felt by everyone present due to its sheer magnitude. However, he quickly realized that if he went down this path, it would undoubtedly be his end.
“Well, what are we waiting for!” Said Ulgran, proud that God had deemed her efforts worthy of her time. “Shall we get started?”
“Yes! let us not delay. To win the coming conflict against Grismala, we must first ally with Octavia. I want you all to keep this in mind, though. If they do not unite with us, we must eliminate them. If that happens, Ezizil, I want you to establish a base from the remains. Once we have a base in the north and south, we can begin our invasion into the continent’s center.
Trentin felt slightly left out of the conversation and decided to make a move. “I’m sure they will ally with us, as they have done in the past. From what I hear, the people from Octavia are big-time fanatics, so….”
“Trentin, why don’t you shut up? We already know that.” Said Sargal, one of the demon generals present.
“What, you want a fight with me?”
“Bring it on, you fraud!”
The entire crowd went silent as soon as they were about to engage in combat. The sky turned dark.
God was not in a good mood. He wanted to waste no time in their travels to the North and had no time for this. Something sinister was afoot. Evil energies were flowing from the demons, significantly weakening them. This spell is called Drain. Drain is second-tier magic and essentially drains the life force of a single target. This was not the case in this situation. Everyone in the army, even the generals, felt weak as their powers and life were siphoned into God.
God’s current host body was roughly at 5% capacity. He had plenty of room for growth, which was the perfect opportunity. By draining the exp, life, and power of all the creatures present, not only did everyone get weaker, he got stronger. The difference in power between the demon generals, even the demon king, all the soldiers, and God was finally noticeable.
The Aura surrounding God grew, along with his anger. The evil energies flowing into him created a shield around him and sent out force shockwaves that greatly demoralized everyone.
The fighting ended before it could even begin, with the two Demon Generals finally seeing God’s true power firsthand. Scared to death, the two demon generals realized they would meet God’s wrath if they continued. Their true enemy was not the humans, and certainly not Grismala, but the dictator standing before them.
To calm down the situation and regain his lost favor with God, Ezizil broke the long silence that befell them. “Behave yourselves! You are in the presence of God! Don’t do anything to make a mockery of our great demon king!”
The two demons shake hands, which makes God even angrier. The feeling of joy God had was misinterpreted as anger by everyone. God was looking forward to seeing them fight and kill each other, but now he was mad. Ezizil had ruined his plans, but he had no room for objections. Instead of immediately punishing the general’s misbehavior, he decided to test Ulgran's loyalty.
“Generals. I am displeased by your behavior….”
With these few words, the generals started to sweat. Fear consumed their minds to the point that they wanted to flee. “I’m willing to look the other way for this only once, and you should consider yourselves lucky. If any of you misbehave another time, I will not only take your experience but all your life force.”
“We are sorry you had to witness that, my lord!” Said Ulgran. “Please leave the task of disciplining them to me.”
“Very well then… do it...”
“Do what?”
“Discipline them you said. Do it right here and now.”
“But my lord, everyone is watching….”
“And? Do it.”
“But my lord, that is disrespectful to the houses of these great.”
“DO IT, DAMN IT!”
Anger thoroughly washed over God. The energies they felt before were nothing compared to the yelling Ulgran got. Ulgran backed away slowly as God slowly closed in on her. “DO IT,” he said, over and over again. Ezizil was terrified, but for the first time, he was happy that he did not have the task of leading the generals.
“DO IT. GOD DAMN IT!”
All of the demon generals waited silently. Trentin was filled with fear. Fear of losing his life, but also fear of the enormous power in front of him. He slowly pulls out a dagger from under his cloak and charges at God.
“You dare charge at me!” Said God as he completely paralyzed Trentin with magic. “Ulgran! Take care of him now!”
“My lord, please give him another chance! He was overcome by fear. We must make haste north! We have no time for this.”
“If you don’t punish him now, I will kill everyone here.”
Ulgran looked down at Trentin, who was paralyzed, and said, “As you will it, my lord.” Trentin looked back like a lost puppy as Ulgran took out her bow. Ulgran’s bow is a 3rd tier item used mainly to put debuffs on enemies, but if those debuffs were to stack, it could cause immense pain.
Ulgran then began bombarding Trentin. Arrow after the arrow went flying at Trentin. He screamed in pain and was humiliated in front of the entire army. All the demons laughed, even Ezizil, as it is their nature, but not Ulgran.
Ulgran finished giving the punishment and looked back at God, who still looked displeased. “Is that adequate, my lord?”
God looks at the beaten-up body lying on the ground. “No…..”
“Please, I can’t do this anymore!”
“You can’t?”
“Please, he is my brother!”
This came as a shock to God. He tried to hide it, but this was proof of his powers failing him. He was unaware of things like this, and the title he was so well known for, “all knowing,” seemed like a hoax.
“I see,” God responded. “Very well then. You are dismissed. Let us begin our march to Octavia.”
“Thank you, my lord.”
“But his punishment isn’t over.”
“It isn’t?”
God used flight magic to fly to his mobile throne. From there, he used enhancement magic to speak to all the troops in the army.
“My beloved creations. WE MUST MARCH NORTH! BUT THIS DEMON NAMED TRENTIN DARES TO DEFY MY COMMANDS. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT HE ALSO TRIED TO ASSASSINATE ME. LET THIS BE A LESSON TO EVERYONE TO NOT GO AGAINST ME AS HE HAS. BEFORE WE BEGIN MARCHING, YOU WILL ALL LAUNCH YOUR SPELLS AT TRENTIN.”
“NO! YOU...” Before Ulgran could finish, she took a moment to rethink.
“I can’t?” Said God in a sarcastic voice. “And who are you to tell me what I can and can’t do?”
“I apologize, my lord. I was mistaken.”
“Good. Everyone do as you are ordered.”
All the demons looked at Ulgran for a signal. She nodded her head, approving. The monsters lined up, and one by one, they hit Trentin with their weapons or cast magic spells that burned his skin.
By the end of it, he was scorched and almost dead. God was finally pleased by the outcome. He looked at Ulgran, crying by her brother, and said, “Ulgran, don’t rot here with him. We can’t waste any more time, join the ranks and let’s go.”
Ulgran looked back, and all she could think was to kill God, but her brother had already failed miserably. Another wrong move, and both of them would be dead. “Brother, I’m so sorry… Please forgive me.”
Before leaving, Ulgran took out her final arrow, which she hid from God, and impaled it right into his chest. Trentin reached out to her in a thankful manner. He was exhausted from the pain and was finally free.
God was aware of this, and this turned his expression sour. He wanted to torture him for all eternity, but now he couldn’t. “It’s fine. I suppose I can forgive her for this..’”
Ulgran stood back up and wiped her tears. She gives her farewells to her brother as she leaves to join the ranks, but she is now filled with hatred toward God.
Before the army began to march, God had one final announcement. He stood up from his throne and gave his speech.
“Let it be known that I will not tolerate any insubordination. As you saw with my demon general who lies dead on the ground, I do not hold favorites. Some of you may hold this against me, but an army without proper organization is no army at all. A world of horror has now been created and needs a ruler worthy of that title! Alas, we come to our next topic. Calling me God is quite a mouthful, so I decided that I shall be known as, another name from this day forth! Nyarbog Lasothtep!
The crowd of demons cheered, not knowing what was going on. “All hail! Nyarbog Lasothtep!” everyone said.
Ezizil and Ulgran were confused at the sudden turn of events. “Nyarbog Lasothtep” what a weird name. There was something evil behind it, yet they did not know what, but that name brought even greater fear to their hearts than the name “God”.
Ezizil slowly approached Ulgran as the crowd cheered. “What do you think of our new ruler's name?”
Ulgran looked back at Ezizil. Her skin had gone pale as snow. “I don’t know, but that name is an abomination.”
“We must investigate the ancient records once we get back! Something is not right. This is not God. It’s something much worse.”
“I think you might be right about that, but if this thing is as powerful as God, but he is worse, then what the hell is he?!”
“I think we are on dangerous grounds now. We must investigate this matter quickly. But in secret. Do not tell anyone of our arrangements.”
“Don’t think of me as a fool, I understand.”
“Good, let’s leave it at that. If we communicate further, we might attract further suspicion.”
Ezizil went back to his position and cheered with the crowd. The masses of demons celebrated the great name, not out of joy but because they were also scared to death.
“Let us march to Octavia! Let none stand before us!”
Although Nyarbog was not in command of the army, he had no difficulty taking control of every demon with minimal effort. He was a natural leader and a terrifying one at that. This monster was not only intelligent but also charismatic, all-knowing, and all-powerful.
The army finally began its march north. thousands of demons were used for physical labor to carry an enormous throne which God sat on in a slightly smaller version of his titan form.
Ezizil was still in shock at that name, he knew that the name sounded familiar and that he had read it somewhere in legends books when he was a kid, but he couldn’t remember it. “Damn it! No one understands the terrible monster we are following. The demon king is not half as evil as the monster we follow. What the hell is happening here. Why is everyone just obeying him without a second thought? Whoever, or whatever this thing is, we must destroy him. It pains me to even think about it, but, eventually, I will have to bend my knee to Grismala and offer her my aid if we are to overcome this evil.”
As the army marched, hundreds of demons collapsed from exhaustion. Nyarbog Lasothtep laughed in the most menacing tone from his throne as others quickly replaced the fallen demons. It was estimated that the demons should have been able to carry him all the way there, but because of Nyarbog Lasothtep’s drain ability he used, everyone was utterly exhausted. Not only that, but the evil aura around him had also grown exponentially, causing fear among the ranks. Even the demon generals were feeling drowsy.
Since the start of the speech, the sky went red, with fiery clouds following the army everywhere they moved. This Cloud was a magic spell to give a movement speed boost to the soldiers, who were mostly infantry. It was none other than Nyarbog Lasothtep’s doing. He wanted to get to Octavia as fast as possible. “It seems that my powers have grown. If I can capture the people’s hearts in Octavia, there will be no power strong enough to hold against my advances. Hahahaha! This is too easy! I just manipulate them, and they do all the fighting! Nobody can win against me! Foolish lower races! Ahahahaha!
