Chapter 38: Zaira Village (Part 2)

Suddenly my sis told me that she would go outside for some reason. This place was another world, what was her purpose for doing that?

"Sis! I think you should stay here a little bit, we must ask the permission of Yura or the elder. The elves out there had scolded their eyes at us very much, I think it's very danger s-"

"Don't worry...Sarah...I got this..." - My sis said that to me then stepped to the door, about to go outside

Then I heard Yura's footsteps, she seemed to hear my sis's purpose so she ran out to see her.

"Shizu! I think you should stay here with your sister until I settle down the situation here, the people here don't like humans."

"You should stay here a bit longer until I explain to all the villagers!" - Yura said to my sis, she even held my sis's hands, begging her to stay

"You two must be hungry right now! It's about to dark, why don't you eat something first. I will ask permission from the elder after we have done the dinner!"

"I don't...hungry...our world was in the morning when we got here...thanks for your generous..." - My sis politely got Yura's hands out of her's

"Gulp! Gulp!" - Seemed like my sis's belly was now gulping, she seemed to be hungry now

"Don't worry...I will go around the village...and get back here...soon..."

Then Yura powerlessly looked at my sis going out of her house, I saw two elves looked like the guards were now lighting up the torches to go patrol around the treehouses.

Seemed like they had noticed my sis, she was now walking close to them.

"You, you human! How did yo-, ah! Sorry, you are two of the guests of the prophet, how can I help you?" - One of the guards asked my sis

Their attitudes had changed at the time they noticed that my sis was the one who stepped out of Yura's house, they suddenly ask my sis politely.

"Can you lead...me...around the village?...I want to know a bit about this place..." - My sis said to that guard

"Ahh! Yes, right away! Please follow me!" - That elven guard politely replied to my sis then started leading her around the village

I hope my sis wouldn't mess with the elves, or they mess with her. Then I looked back at Yura, she seemed to ignore my sis but looked at me.

"I will bring you the dinner, wait for me a little bit!" - Yura said to me then went to the kitchen

I was so curious about this world but I managed to stay calm, not scared. If I didn't know this fantasy stuff back in my world, I would be very panicked at the time I got here.

Then I looked around a little bit, Yura's treehouse seemed to be made of wood completely, they looked very thick. The woods that used to build this house must be hundred years or so I saw myself sitting in a wooden chair next to the dinner table.

The table was empty, I looked around for more but didn't see any special, a few minutes later, Yura came out with the dishes that were full of mushrooms, nuts and vegetables, also some bread.

Yura put down those dishes on the dinner table, I looked around the dishes. They seemed to be very clean, but I didn't see any meat on the dishes.

"What's wrong, Sarah? You don't hungry? Or you are too nervous?" - Yura asked me, I was nervous a bit when I cannot find John

"I will be back, wait for me a bit!" - Yura said to me then walked toward a chest near there

I saw Yura open the chest, inside it was a kind of glowing water. They glowed in blue like the water I saw from the large lake under the sword cave.

"Keep magic canceled!" - Yura said a word as if to cast a magic spell on the water inside the chest

Then I saw the glowed water inside the chest glowed the yellow aura, a few seconds later, that aura was gone. Yura slowly held a wooden cup and took the water inside the chest.

I was very shocked to see that this fantasy world had magics, I was now figuring out how the people in this world could cast spells. I wanted to cast spells too if I had a chance.

After taking the water, Yura cast more magic on the water.

"Keep magic activated!" - I saw the water inside the chest glow in yellow again then Yura slowly closed the chest and took the cup of that water toward me

"Sarah, what's wrong? Your face looks so shocked, is this the first time you saw magics?" - Yura asked me, of course, I was shocked

"Seem like your world doesn't have magic, right? My parents told me that when my ancestor got here from his world, he was also shocked."

"I don't know if he was shocked as same as you or not, you look a bit calm, I would say so!"

"Please drink the water and eat! I will tell you what you want to know when you are done eating." - Yura opened a smile then gave the cup of glowed blue water to me

Then I took the cup and drank all the water inside, my mind started relieving after drinking it, this water was very similar to the water from the lake I found inside the sword cave.

"Yura, what is this kind of water? It looks like the one I saw inside the sword mountain!"

"Oh! Sarah, I don't know what is the "sword mountain" that you say, but this water is collected by the elder when he traveled to God's land for praying."

"The elder said to me that he collected the water inside a lake of a thing he called God's weapon, or with another name, Divine Sword."

"Goddess Katia placed them there to protect the world from the sky's intrusions" - Again, Yura said to me the word "Goddess Katia", maybe I should ask her more

"What's the Goddess named Katia? Yura, is she the god of this world?"

Yura seemed not surprised to hear me ask her like that.

"Well, I think I will tell you about those later when you done eating, please eat as much as you like, I will also eat with you!" - Yura said to me happily then sat down on a chair to eat with

"Yura, I don't see any meat! Do you elves here are vegetarians?"

"Oh, vegetarian! That word was only used by my ancestor when he got to this world and saw the way we ate the food."

"Our elves don't eat animals, Sarah! We only eat plants or things that not living!" - Maybe I had figured out why the elves here looked so slender

"What's the dress you are wearing, and also the clothes people out there are wearing? They look to be made of leaves!"

"Sigh! Can you please eat, Sarah! I will tell you when you done eating!" - Yura took a wooden spoon from the table and started eating

I also ate with Yura when she started eating, though the dinner only had plants but it was very good, I ate a lot though my belly was not hungry that much.

"Hah! So yummy!" - I had done eating and now relaxing while sitting on the chair

"Sigh! Sarah, you just ate all of the dinner, I have brought so much, also kept a bit for your sister, but!" - Yura held her head, seemed like I had eaten all of the dinner

"Ah! Sorry, don't worry, we have rations on our bags so my sis will eat them instead!"

"So, can I ask you now?" - I asked Yura, she made a nod to me

"So, what are the clothes that you and the people here are wearing?"

"These clothes are our traditional clothes, they are called Tura. Our people only wear these clothes but we have changed our fashional style a bit 500 years ago by importing human clothes."

"If you go around this village a little bit, you will see many youths wearing those human clothes."

"Though I said you they are youths but most of them are over 100 years old now!" - Yura told me

"What language you and your people here are talking, Yura?" - I cannot understand how the elves could understand each other by saying "Tuku" words

Yura looked at me after I asked her, she laughed louder.

"Hahaha! Oh, sorry! The language we are speaking is called Tuku, our elves just need to speak those "tuku" words, just need to repeat those and we can understand each other." - Yura said to me but I cannot understand

"Can you explain further?"

"Well! I cannot explain to you either, it's out of my knowledge, I have been told by my parents that when our elves were created by the Goddess, she has already set up that only word as our language word." - Seemed like I cannot understand it either

"Then how did the humans learn your language?" - I was so curious, if the language of the elves here was very strange to learn, then how the human could speak with them in negotiations

"Well! I can only explain to you that if a human keeps repeating our word's language, that person will understand what we say gradually, just like my ancestor!" - Maybe I should imitate speaking with these elves

"And also, most of the negotiations we have with the humans, we only speak their language because speaking in the same language will be easier for the talks! Understand, Yura?" - Yura explained to me

"You said about your ancestor, Yura! You told me that he also came from our world, can you tell me about him?"

I was a bit disappointed, I was now looking out of the door, maybe I would go outside a bit to look at something. It was so boring when I cannot find out the answer I wanted in this another world.

"Uh! I hope so, but anyway, how did you know that John is still alive, Yura?" - I wanted to know how Yura knew that John was still alive

"Like I said, Sarah! I'm a prophet, I can sometimes see the future but I cannot see it now, my ability is very mysterious, I cannot explain to you how it works!" - Seemed like I cannot have the answer to my question

"Anyway, as a prophet, I do not only see the future but also see the status of someone to know if that person is alive or not, that thing is easier than seeing the future."

"Maybe you still not understand, well! If you have a full description of someone's face on your mind, you just need to think about that person and touch my head."

"I just need a few seconds to figure out, if my head doesn't turn hot, that means that person is dead, otherwise, will live"

"There's another way to know where that person's location but if I have to do it, I must ask permission from the elder, that's all! I hope you understand, Sarah!" - Seemed like I had understood a bit now

"About the thing that called Divine, Divine or so that you said it's created by the Goddess, can you describe that thing's shape for me, Yura? Or at least tell me its location!"

"Well! I cannot answer that question for you, Sarah! It's beyond the approval of the elder, I hope you understand!"

Sigh! How could I ask her what I needed?

"About the Goddess named Katia, can you tell me about her?"

Yura looked at me, she seemed to be happy when I cared about that name.

"Well! Goddess Katia is the one who created this world, this world only worships her. Most of our calendars are using the calendar that she placed for us, but some Kingdoms don't use her calendar but use the other ones."

"What are the other calendars that you say, Yura?"

"Well! I will explain it to you further if I have the permission from my elder!" - Once again, sigh!

"Don't be sad, Sarah! If you ask me the questions that not relate to the things I said earlier, I will try to explain it to you fully!" - Yura held my hands, trying to comfort me

I started thinking a little bit, I wanted to ask Yura as much as possible. After I thought, I started to ask Yura again.

"Yura, what's the kind of magic that you used earlier when you opened the chest?"

"Oh! The magic I used earlier to those water in the chest is called Keep magic, Keep magic is one of five attributes of magic, it can only be used by our elves!"

"So that magic can keep the object or liquid to keep it's new, it can be used to avoid decomposition of those things from time, keeping them new to many ages."

"But when you want to use an object that has been cast the Keep magic spell on it, you have to turn off the spell if you want to touch the object."

"Two green crates that belong to you and your sis are now placed inside our warehouse to keep them new!"

"What happens if we touch those things when the magic is still on?"

"Well! Your body won't be able to touch them when the spell is cast."

"If you can touch them when the spell is still activated, those things would break for some reason!" - Seemed like the kind of magic Yura used was quite complicated

Okay, what should I ask her next?

"Yura, you are an Elf, right? Then why your ears are less pointy than the others, is there something wrong?"

"Ah! You are a person from another world but you don't seem to be scared or nervous when you look at us."

"My parents told me that when my ancestor first came to this world, he was a bit scared when he first saw us."

"An ordinary elf can be distinguished by their long pointy ears and their height, elves are very tall." - So Yura was a half-elf

My definition of ordinary elves' biology had now changed a bit. It was different from the elves' description of J. R. R. Tolkien, the writer of The Lord of The Rings.

I had seen a bit drawings of Tolkien's description of the elves on the internet, they looked very different from humans.

But the elves here I saw looked very like humans, like the description about Tolkien's half-elves. The only difference was that their ears were just pointy and they were tall.

Maybe I should ask Yura more.

When I was about to ask Yura, suddenly I heard her house's front door had been opened. I turned around to see who that was, that was my sis, she had returned here after going around the village.

"Ah! Sis, welcome back!" - I greeted my sis, then my sis sat next to Yura, opposite me, I wondered if my sis was hungry or not

"Prophet, Your guest didn't cause us any problem but when I was leading her around the village, many villagers had scolded her heavily."

"I think you should let your guests stay here until we settle down the situation, please tell two of them not to go outside, Prophet." - The elf guard that led my sis around the village talked to Yura while standing outside the door.

Seemed like the people here didn't have sympathy for the humans like us.

"Also, you Prophet! If your guests cause trouble for you, please tell us, we will take care of them right away. I will go now, Prophet! Please take care!" - Then the elf guard went away from Yura's house to do the guard outside, he also seemed to have cautious with us

When I turned my head back to see my sis when I had done seeing the elf guard, suddenly my sis placed my Smart Advisor on the dinner table. My sis had brought out both of the devices to go around the village, I wondered why my sis did that.

"Sarah...I return it back...to you...why don't you check it a bit..." - My sis said to me to check on Smart Advisor

I saw that Yura was now curious about the devices that I and my sis wore in our hands. Of course, she was an elf from this fantasy world and the devices we had here were a new kind of military technology.

I looked at the Smart Advisor, that name was long, let's change to SA, well! Its design looked like the Pip-Boy watch from the Fallout game series but it had black colored and was smaller than the Pip-Boy ones. I was now wondering who was the one who created this, that person must be a big fan of Fallout.

How do I use it, I wondered? Oh, the was a button under its device, I also saw another button on its screen on the right side, where should I push it?

I pushed the button on the right side, nothing happened.

"Sarah...that button is used...to stop the...charging..." - Sis! Why didn't you tell me earlier!

Then I pushed the button under SA, after pushing the button, I saw its screen started loading programs, after it done loading.

Its screen appeared with a green screen and a toolbar down its screen but there was no appearance of the Fallout boy.

"Welcome, user Sarah!" - SA greeted me

"That, that thing can talk?" - Yura looked very shocked

"Your ancestor didn't have anything similar to this one, Yura?"

"Yeah! That's the first time that I have ever seen anything like it!" - Seemed like Yura's ancestor was someone from a different era, he may come from the 20th century or some sort like that

"If you don't mind then I will brief a bit about my information for you, Sarah!" - SA seemed to want to introduce it to me

"No need! But how can you know my name's Sarah?"

"User Shizuka said that to me, she said you are my owner, not her!"

"About those toolbars down your screen, what are they used for?"

"About my toolbars, from the left to right, they are Checking Health, Showing Maps, Detect Creatures, Scanning Area, Options..."

"Tell me about all of the toolbars and how they are used?"

"If you turn to that toolbar, it will show you how much weight and height you are having, also showing to you which parts of your muscle are having problems, what are the risks of your health in the future, etc..."

"Showing maps will show you the map on the screen and also show yourself on the map as an arrow, but the map is only available if you have already scanned the area you have gone."

"Also, depends on what kind of area you want me to show, I will show the map that big or small depending on your command."

"Detect creatures, turn it up when you are going outside while looking on the map, I will scan for you the creatures around the area you are standing. The perimeter of the scanning is only a maximum of 547 yards (about 500 meters)."

When SA was about to say more to me, my sis suddenly called me.

"Sarah...I'm hungry...you can talk to it tomorrow..."

"I will prepare for you the dinner now, wait for me a bit!" - Yura stood up then went to the kitchen right away

I immediately turned off SA and wore it in my right hand.

"Arigatogozaimasu!...Yura..." (Thank you very much!...Yura...) - My sis thanked Yura in Japanese

"Ari, ari what?" - Yura seemed a bit confused

"Ah! My sis just thanked you in Japanese, a language that's in our world!"

"That's so? I will prepare the dinner now, can you help me a bit, Sarah?" - Yura asked me to help her, the one who always cooks the meal for me is my sis, I didn't know how to cook

Maybe I should make myself useful a bit for Yura, to see someone doing something for me while sitting there to look and do nothing, I would feel a bit frustrated.

"Okay!" - Then I ran toward the kitchen with Yura to help her

I managed to help Yura prepare the dinner for my sis, at first I thought the preparation would be long but Yura had already cast Keep magic on the food. She just needed to turn the spell off then chose the dishes she wanted to bring out, it took us about a few minutes to do.

So we had brought out the dishes for my sis, Yura was now sitting next to me. We were very looking forward to see how would my sis react to the dishes when they had only vegetation on them.

Seemed like my sis didn't surprise at all, how could she? But she took the wooden fork and stick it to a thing that looked like a small potato on one of the dishes and sniffed.

"Itadakimasu!..." (I hope you all enjoy the meal!) - My sis said a word that most the Japanese used to greet each other before eating

Then my sis ate her dinner very well, after eating the dinner, she seemed to be curious about something, I wondered what she was thinking.

"Strange...theoretically...if you eat the food that different from the things in your place...you will difficulty when eating...even vomit them all...worsen is when you have to defecate..."

Ahh! I didn't notice that detail at first! Thank you, sis!

"Ah! Maybe that's because our meal is very clean, I guess! I hope you enjoy the meal, Shizu!" - Yura seemed very glad when she saw my sis commented about her meal

"Hey! Sarah, Shizu!" - Yura suddenly called me and my sis

Then both of us looked at Yura, the way she called us maybe she wanted to say something important.

"I just forgot to say this word when you two first came here, welcome to Zaira village!" - Yura greeted us by opening a purely smile

Seemed like we had to live in this another world now, must find a way to return, but before that I must find John. Yura said to me that he was still alive then I must find him before finding the way to return to my world.

We must find John first, that would be my first goal. About the return, I cannot find the way for it now but if we could get here then there would be a way for us to return to our world, but I think that would be long.
