Chapter 8: Ailia Town (Part 2)

Seemed like our situation was very serious now, the people from Adventurer's Guild came out on the streets and started shouting, insulting and even pointing their hands toward me.

Princess Shera must be ashamed while holding my hand to get to a safe place, she, Reimi and her brother did nothing but accidentally got involved in my problem. Shera was holding my hand while lowering her head to walk through the bunch of crowds who were heading their attention at me.

"Hey! You see that? That guy is powerless!"

"That filthy powerless should not be hanging around with that noble woman!"

"How could a powerless can have the right to appear in our land?"

"Powerless people are not human, they even worse than the slaves!"

"Hey, why don't we chase that powerless away! That noblewoman must be crazy to keep him with her!"

I heard all of that, you people! I was very mad, I wanted to rush into the people who insulted me and smash their heads, but I managed to calm myself down.

I should not lose my control because I could make things more complicated if I hit the crowds. The innocent people that were following alongside me so I didn't want to see them be harmed.

Now I only felt sorry when Shera and her people accidentally got involved in my problem. They were the people of the Royal, Shera, Reimi, Hoster and their people would be rumored bad things that could make them harmed.

Shera now seemed very ashamed, her face kept lowering, I could see her tears were about to flow out from her eyes, she later wiped the tears.

Later that, Shera looked at me a few times while walking with me through the crowds, she seemed to want to say something but she went silent.

"Hey, let's teach that noble woman and that powerless man a lesson! People, bring out our weapons, we will drag that powerless out of this town!" - I heard a yell from behind, that was from someone from the crowds

Shera after hearing the crowds, she held my right hand tighter and ran faster in a straight line, Hoster and Reimi also ran fast to keep up with us.

"Brother! Where is our inn?" - Shera shouted to Hoster

"About 200 meters (218,7 yards), left side!" - Hoster answered his sister

I heard him say "meter", this other world used a measurement similar to my previous world? But at least I would not face many problems now if things here were similar to my world.

After hearing what Hoster said, Shera held my hand and ran as fast as she could in the direction he told. Reimi and Hoster also ran fast to keep up with us, I looked behind a few times and saw the crowds were chasing us while holding wooden things.

In a short time, the inn appeared in front of us, it was a very big inn and very well built with beautiful dark brown wood. Shera headed toward the inn's door and rushed with me inside, she banged the door to open it, the door's handle broke completely after the kick.

A woman who was standing at the wooden stall seemed to be the inn's owner. The inn's owner didn't have a second to react when we got in suddenly but she made a strong knock on the stall when she saw us break the door.

"Hey! Who are you people, why did you people get in here! You people just smashed my door, you broke it, pay the money now!"

"I will pay for the damages, madam, and I also want to rent new rooms." - Hoster and Reimi just got in after us, they seemed a little tired when they had to run away from the crowds

Shera was now still holding my hand, she sighed and seemed to feel a little relieved after getting rid of the crowd. Shera red her face a bit when she noticed we were holding our hands but she kept holding my hand, didn't want to let them out.

I later saw about 30 people wearing armors like soldiers, they were standing in front of us, their armors have round red emblems that stuck on their right chests or their right shoulders. The emblem has a yellow symbol of a Knight raising his sword above the sky while lowering his round shield.

Those emblems belonged to the Warsaw Kingdom according to what Shera and Reimi told me about, the emblem was the war flag emblem of Warsaw.

"We're all glad to see you get here safety, Your High-" - Some soldiers were about to bow to Shera

"Do that later! Now I don't have time for that, let me pass the way!" - Shera ordered the soldiers

"Shera, you get in room number 25, first floor! I just have rented it for you!" - Hoster talked to Shera and threw a thing to her, that thing looked to be a room key

"Thank you, brother." - Shera thanked Hoster and took me with her upstairs

While going into the room above, I heard loud noises from below, maybe shouting sounds. I peeked out of the window and saw the crowds were now gathering around the inn, they were shouting, yelling at me loudly.

Some of them held things that looked to be wooden sticks and pickaxes as if to use them as weapons. The crowds pointed their weapons at me when they looked up the windows and saw me and Shera going up the stairs.

"Warsaw's guards! We have to stop the crowds now!" - Hoster ordered to the soldiers, he shouted too loud from below that I could even hear

Shera immediately opened the room's door and pulled me inside, we were now inside the room. Shera immediately closed the door and sat on a chair nearby, she held her head and lowered her face.

Maybe she was very confused and ashamed about what she had been through, I noticed that Shera looked at me but didn't say anything.

I looked out of the windows and saw the crowds were now being stopped from moving closer to the inn by Hoster's soldiers. The soldiers drew their swords, formed a long horizontal line to stop the rushing crowds and shouted loud to the angry crowds to tell them to leave.

I also saw Reimi, she was now also joining alongside the soldiers on the street, she seemed to be quite mad at the crowds. Reimi drew her sword and yelled to the crowds that she would kill any one of them if they dare to get closer to the inn.

"Oh, so you have guts, huh? Lady! You should not be wandering around to protect that filthy powerless."

"I'm sure he cannot satisfy you, lady! Powerless people are very weak to make you happy in bed, you know?"

"Your body is very hot, fit and tough, lady! Every man wants to take over you to own you, you should hang out with me instead." - An alcoholic was flirting with Reimi, he even closed his face to her

I later saw Reimi angrily stabbing her sword into that man's chest, she stabbed the man while losing her control according to my thought. The man later fell to the ground with blood coming out of his body, he kept holding his bleeding chest, what a terrible scene.

"See it? Anyone who dares to get closer will be ended up like this man!" - Reimi warned the crowds, her voice was now very loud while shouting

The crowds that were chasing us earlier ran away when they saw the stabbing scene, some of the people brought the wounded man somewhere, maybe to the nearest healer.

The situation of the fussing around the inn has settled down completely, I think so. Because Shera pulled me down as if to let me avoid being seen by the crowds so I didn't see them anymore.

15 minutes have gone by, I peeked out of the windows again, the crowds have gone away completely but some of the people still glaring their eyes at the inn when they went past.

What was wrong with the people, anyway? I only could not use magic but they behaved as if they were hunting witches in the middle ages.

"Sir Rigen, please sit, I want to talk to you about something." - Shera talked to me with a serious face, but she called me slightly, she didn't mad

"Reimi, you stay here and do the guard, don't let anyone get in this room, even my dear brother."

"Understood, My Highness!" - Reimi bowed her head and headed out of the door

Before we have a conversation, Reimi had gotten out of the room and said something to the Warsaw soldiers, maybe ordering them to not let them in.

I was now sitting on the chair opposite Shera, her mouth has a bit of hesitation as if she didn't know if she must ask me or not.

"Princess, just say everything you have in mind, I don't mind telling you."

"Sir Rigen! Why did you lie to us?" - Well, I did that because it was for the trust examination, Shera!

"Wait a minute, Princess! Before you ask me, I want to ask you first, why did you lie to me that you didn't tell me your social status?"

Shera after hearing my words, she confused and thought something. Maybe this little girl was trying to find a reasonable reason for answering my answer...or she was finding an excuse.

"I was being chased by the Assassins at that time, it was very dangerous to trust someone that I didn't know much about."

"I wanted to be sure that you are trustworthy for me, Sir Rigen."

"The first thing I always do to trust someone that I don't know about is to suspect them, I'm very sorry because of that inconvenience, Sir Rigen."

I could feel the truth in Shera's eyes, she did not lie to me but told me the truth...or that was what I thought, this Princess must be cunning silently, she was good at lying.

But this Princess was right to doubt someone, she didn't seem to lie to me, maybe I was wrong to doubt her too much. I thought about myself, even saying the truth was the thing that I could not say to her or Reimi, I must...

"Before I answer your question, Princess! I want to know why the people in this town have reacted outrageously when they know I can't use magic."

"Not just the people in this town, every people in my place, no! I must say it wider, Sir Rigen." - Shera was trying to answer but she stopped when Reimi tapped her shoulder

"Everyone on this continent will have that same reaction if they know you cannot cast magic, Sir Rigen." - Reimi was supposed to do her guard suddenly explained to me, she seemed very care about me but she just lost her concentration

"Reimi's right, Sir Rigen! Maybe I need to make a full explanation for you to know, you are not a person from this place so you may feel strange."

"In my place, every person who was born always has magic in their body, most of the people will own 2 elements of magic due to the bloodline of their parents."

"There are rare cases about the special people own 3 to 4 elements of magic. If a family has a child that has many magic elements, that would be a big proud of the family."

"The children can have those magic elements are depended on their compatibility in their bodies, come from their generation's line."

"So there will be cases the children cannot cast their parents magic elements but can cast the elements from their previous generations."

"The people who have many magic elements and high magic powers will be very successful in their lives, magic is very essential to our lives, without it, we have nothing to depend on."

"But there are some cases, very rare about the children born with very low magic powers."

"Those children still have magic elements in their bodies but they cannot cast magic due to their low magic powers."

"The health of people who can't cast magic is very weak for a strange reason, most of them live illness, struggle to live in this tragic world." - Shera stopped her explanation and went silent, maybe she was waiting for me

Sorry! Shera, Reimi! I have to lie again, you two were too honest!

"About the question you asked me earlier, Princess."

"I did that because I also suspected you two, I was very shocked when seeing the people here can cast magic easily."

"Princess, maybe to you and the people here, cannot cast magic must be hard to live, but for me and my homeland, the thing is not that important."

"What did you say, Sir Rigen?" - Shera seemed very confused at my answer, she looked straight at me

"I cannot believe it! I never thought that could be possible...but can you tell me more about it, Sir Rigen?" - Shera was about to suspect me but she kept calming down to listen to verify my words

"We cannot cast magic but we can create magic by using our knowledge, here are the proofs, Princess!"

I removed my M4A1 Carbine from my shoulder and put it on the table. I also removed Advisor from my right hand and put it in front of Shera.

"This is a magic weapon of my homeland, this is called a gun, a powerful projectile weapon, stronger than a bow many times, its destruction is beyond your knowledge."

"I can't cast magic but with this thing in my hands, I won't lose in any battles even if I have to fight against 100 men."

That was just a joke to warn Shera, I could not fight against 100 men even if they only had melee weapons and wore normal clothes.

With the M4's recoil and its type of 5.56x45 mm ammo, I could make accurate shots but the enemies would be alive and could even move to kill me after taking the shots.

If I fight 100 normal clothes enemies holding machetes, they would need to run toward me and I could shoot them with the M4 but if they come too close, I will die for real.

If I have a bayonet to mount on the rifle, still die except if I use combine weapons to fight like a pistol, grenades or flashbangs. But maybe I cannot kill 100 men even if I have those things, depending on the enemy's movement, 100 men divided from 4 sides is enough to kill me.

If 100 men charge at me with their machete from very far away, in front of me, no behind or other sides attack then I can have a bit chance to win with all of my weapons.

Or just run away fast for sure or hide somewhere like a bush to avoid the hunt from 100 men instead of shredding your enemies with your gun, waste of time but die stupid!

"Also, Princess! The thing in front of you is a magic item called Advisor. It can talk and do many different things that you can't think about."

I managed to turn off the charging process before grabbing Advisor to place in front of the girls to let it not heated when it contact the light from any source.

I turned on Advisor in front of the girls, Reimi has left her duty and went closer to look at Advisor, she and Shera were so curious to look at it.

Advisor's screen turned on a glowed green screen, the girls were now very curious when seeing it. Shera was about to touch Advisor but she stopped, maybe she did not want to touch my belongings without my permission.

I had already turned off the Special Conversation since the earlier time when the crowds were fussing about me outside of the inn, Reimi and Shera could now hear Advisor talk.

"Advisor, say hello to the ladies." - Greet them properly or I will make you become some scrap metals and then throw you into some trash can!

"Hello, ladies! My name is Advisor."

Shera and Reimi were now shocked when they heard Advisor talk, they went silent. Shera was holding her head as if to wonder how Advisor works, Reimi was waving her hand around Advisor's screen to see how it would react to her.

I immediately took back Advisor and stuffed my M4 into my military bag which was placed under the chair before these girls could ask me any more questions.

After returning my rifle to the bag, I looked at Shera and noticed she was now holding her head, seemed very headache after thinking too much, maybe.

"Sir Rigen! How many parts of your story are true?" - Shera asked me, she seemed to doubt my story but her face showed me that she was willing to believe me

"All of it, I don't have anything to lie to you, Princess! You told me the truth, I also did the same for honesty." - Of course, the part that the people in my world can use magic was just a lie

Sorry, Princess! But maybe you should doubt people more...you were so easy for me to pass.

"But you have to be careful, Sir Rigen! The people in this place don't like the powerless people."

"Sir Rigen, maybe you look normal but if you can't cast magic and the people find out, you will be killed or left in the forest till you die." - Shera seemed very care about me, she tapped my shoulder

"Sir Rigen, please stay in this inn until the time we depart to return to our homeland, I won't mind bringing you with us, I welcome you, you have become my relatives." - Why did Shera say that?

"The people in our homeland may not notice your unusual so you will be safe there, you should come with us, Sir Rigen." - Reimi also cared about me

"Powerless people are not considered human in this place, so you must be careful, Sir Rigen."

"Maybe this time the rumors about you are now spreading to the entire town and they will spread to other Kingdoms in a short time, even my homeland, you should stay with us, Sir Rigen." - Shera talked to me in with her worry

"But rumors are just rumors, the people who say you powerless don't have the proofs to prove it, they don't even have power in their hands like me, I will protect you."

"I am a Princess, I have power, I will protect you, Sir Rigen! I will pay you the debt that you saved me." - Princess even held my hands to show her promise

"I will also protect you, Sir Rigen! Anyone who dares to come close to you without my permission will die." - Reimi also promised me, she made a bow toward me

Reimi later kneeled one of her legs downs on the floor, holding her sword in a straight line in front of her face, closing her eyes and reciting the promise that she made for me.

I was now being protected by these girls, huh? But I cannot depend on them too much. They must be thinking about using me as their puppet if they have a chance.

Though they were all honest but I must suspect them for sure, I cannot believe anyone that I just have met in a short time, must not trust, just pretend to trust.

Maybe I will hide my identity from the people around here, though I see it won't help much, maybe they didn't know my name for sure.

The guild girl that I made her injured didn't speak my name yet, but I hope she won't remember my name because she has seen my name or just saw it not fully.

I will go out while covering my face to not let no one see me, that would be the best choice, I think!

Thank you for your help, Shera, and Reimi! But I think that you should care more about yourself than about me.

But from now on, I will have to keep my distance a little bit from you now, Shera, Reimi! To know someone for too long will make me care about that person very much.

I have to thank Shera and Reimi, staying with them for 10 days was very memorable, but now I must keep my distance from them first.
