《Majo Magica》Chapter 47

Akeru groaned as she looked at the others. Cleo was still upset, but Ci gave her a glass of beer to calm her down instantly.
Akeru: So we just have to find her...but this is enormous!
Ci: Not only that...but the party won't go on for much longer. I wouldn't be shocked if she was planning this and was looking for an excuse to show up.
Itsuki: Especially since it seems like she has a grudge against Akeru.
Akeru: Because I "cheated" ?!
Ci: No, because you beat her, as I said...she can't take defeat well. However, the thing that concerns me is she used Storm Play...
Itsuki: Storm Play?
Ci: I told you before of Special Grades. Storm Play is one such spell. It allows her to play games and set the win and lose conditions of said game. For example, her saying that anyone involved will die...means that their souls will be destroyed entirely.
Akeru: W-What?! How is that possible!? Isn't she a wind user or something?!
Ci: Just because she holds the title Sky Witch and has specialties in wind magic...does not mean that is all she can do. All of us are like that; if it were not, we wouldn't have been able to create the Grand Realm.
Itsuki: So this means Akeru and anyone who helps her have a chance to be destroyed?!
Ci: Precisely...don't take it the wrong way, but my sisters nor I will help you. We can't afford to lose right now with so little of us in this alliance.
Akeru: R-Right...I better get started.
Itsuki: You mean we better get started?
Ci: You will not be allowed to help her; we need-
Itsuki: We need Amani...if we can't get her now, we might as well forget this alliance anyways! I get you not helping, but I can help Akeru...she is my teammate!

Akeru: Itsuki...
Ci: You...you have a point. Just don't lose; we still have use for you.
Ci walked away as Akeru and Itsuki split up, roaming around the city. After about an hour, they met back in the castle square. They couldn't find one trace of Amani.
Akeru: Damnit! The party only will last for another hour at best...
Itsuki: I know...I had to skim the best I could for any sign of her, but nothing came up!
Akeru: She isn't invisible...not in the sky...and she will stay in the city walls...so where could she be?!
Itsuki: There has to be something we are missing!
Akeru thought and looked up in the distance to see the glowing woman she saw in the village smiling at her.
Akeru: That woman...!
Akeru quickly ran after her as Itsuki chased after her. The woman disappeared to the ground as Akeru looked around.
Itsuki: Akeru! What's wrong?!
Akeru: I...where did she go...?
Itsuki: Did you see Amani?
Akeru: No, not her...I just...give me a minute.
Akeru walked over to the railing and looked at the river water, taking a deep breath. She looked at her reflection in the water and saw a faded green feather falling. She looked up to see it was gone and looked back down to see it was still falling.
Akeru: Itsuki, stay right there for a moment!
Itsuki: W-What?!
Akeru ran past him as quick as she could to Ci, who was drinking tea and looking confused at the girl.
Akeru: Ci! Is there magic to hide in reflections?
Ci: That would be absurd...why do you ask-
Akeru: I saw her feather in the reflection in the water! It had to be hers!
Ci: In the reflection...?
Ci thought for a moment, and her eyes widened a tiny bit as she put her teacup down.

Ci: Show me right away.
Akeru: R-Right!
Akeru brought Ci to Itsuki, who looked confused.
Itsuki: I thought you were not going to help?
Ci ignored him, looked at the water, and then looked up, glaring as she blew a cold wind forward. Then, suddenly, Amani showed up, shivering as she started freaking out.
Ci: So that was your play...to alter the air around you and hide in plain sight.
Akeru: T-That's possible?! But isn't air invisible?!
Ci: Yes and no...air itself is, but you can use magic to make the air reflective in a way...hiding in plain sight. Usually, she does this to make herself invisible...but due to the rules stating she can't turn invisible, this is her loophole!
Amani screamed in frustration as she hopped on the air to the three, with the people around them looking confused.
Amani: Damn you! You cheated! You had to have cheated!
Akeru: Tell me how I cheated then! If I cheated, the spell would have killed me...right?
Amani's eyes widened as she suddenly rushed at Akeru, but Ci smacked Amani away from her.
Ci: It's over, sister; you know you have lost. Return with us to the castle; we have a lot to talk about with you.
Amani got up from the ground and glared at Ci as they escorted her to the throne room. The others went there when the party stopped as Aurora hummed in excitement.
Aurora: Amani! You finally found her!
Cleo and Ravenbeard were both passed out on the ground as Benjiro sighed heavily.
Akeru: It wasn't easy, but we finally did it.
Amani: Why is Cleo here...what's going on?!
Ci: We need your help; we plan to rejoin the rest of our sisters-
Amani just started laughing at her.
Amani: Rejoin?! Fat chance! Like any of them would even talk to one another, let alone join them!
Itsuki: We thought the same thing, but we got Ci and Cleo to agree to this alliance!
Amani: They will be the only ones; count me out!!
Akeru: B-But you said-
Amani: I know my rules; I did say I would listen to you...I never said anything about joining you or anything ~
Ci: You damn harpy!
Amani giggled at her and lay sideways in the air, smirking.
Amani: Why would I want to give up my freedom? I left for a reason; everyone was holding me back from flying through the skies!
Akeru: But if the AWF gets your Key and Shackle -
Amani: Let them have it; I am sure I can avoid an Ancient Beast!
Ci: You know how untrue that is!
Amani: Is it untrue? We never saw one before...so how do we know it even is as strong as Jukijo said?!
Itsuki: Jukijo...?
Ci: You better wash your mouth out for speaking the Beast Witch's name!!
Amani: I'm not scared of her...what is a damn corpse going to do-
Akeru: Corpse?!
Ci: Amani...what do you mean, corpse?
Amani: I found her dead body~ She has been gone for a while!
The room was filled with widened eyes; the major threat they had besides the AWF was dead this entire time?! Ci gulped a tiny bit as she saw Amani smirk at her; she had no clue if what she said was true or not.

Tragedies, unforeseen by any mortal or angel, set in motion that long-feared calamity and hurtle both worlds toward an irrevocable conflagration. Neither will ever be the same. If you are looking for a tight focus on just a handful of characters, that's not this story. It is meant to provide a broad series of perspectives on an absolutely calamitous world-shaping war. Black Meridian
Here's a fact about humans: They are intelligent, versatile creatures with a tendency for murder and vice. Zeta, a swordsman from a villa at the summit of Greenwich Mountain, has heard many stories about the "Sigma World," the colloquial term for any and all things superpowered in the world. He's also heard of the many tragedies, as well as the many wonders humankind has created in its history, even if he has yet to see it in person. Following the philosophy of his teacher, Gin Kagan, Zeta intends to become a "Servant of Humanity," in an endeavor to protect mankind from its gravest threats, from power-hungry sigma-users, but most importantly, from itself. He's going to need a lot of allies to pull that off, even if he doesn't understand that just yet. This story is originally published at www.sigmacentral.wordpress.com. Verification that I am the author of this story can be found here. Please leave feedback in either the comments or a review. Sengoku Demon Chronicles
Sengoku-era Japan was already batshit crazy. Now it’s got demons. ~~~ Japan 1541-2. Miho, a young village guy [with a female name], is on the trail of his mysterious lost love when he unwittingly saves the life of Akira, a cynical ashigaru [low-level samurai]. By doing so, he incurs the wrath of a box demon who is way too petty to just let it go. After that, it’s mostly downhill. ~~~ Includes: purple mist demons, portals, Yuki Onna, other demons, warlords, ashigaru, a try-hard mage, an eight-tailed fox and an endless litany of pathological liars. Historically, it’s about as accurate as most Hollywood productions. Hopefully, a little better. ~~~ Note: due to having fewer followers than a no-touch, no-look sex cult, I'm taking a break from this for August/September. Will be back in October to finish off Volume 1 and start off Volume 2.
