《Knights quest》Collar's growth

* wipes the blood from his face*
"it was fun, but it's been a whole hour since midnight and I find your relentless ness to be more of a bother now." Ziair stated as he had grew bored and tired of slaughtering Knights, which he found unworthy of his time.
"Primous! Either you come face me or I and the the rest of the tribes will slaughter the remainder of you." He purpose.
Primous's calm demeanor was wavering, he originally started out with over four hundred knights and it only took Ziair little over an hour to half that.
The situation had look dire. Looking around at his remaining Knights, they still were brimming with life but to have them rush Ziair would be suicidal.
Arms folded and repeatedly tapping his foot, Ziair grew even more impatient.
"PRIMOUS!!! FACE ME OR FACE MY ARMY!!!" He demanded. "Either way, death will be the result". Ziair mention.
Moments earlier in the trenches
"Butcher is that what really happened??? Even with your Blessing and Miracle combined, he still managed to overwhelm you". Collar asked in disbelief.
"Yes, I too was shock. I'm Butcher for the love of NINE, where's my plot armor?"
"What?" Asked Sarge.
"...nothing... How much longer will it take before my injuries heal Collar?" Butcher asked impatiently.
"In this state you should be happy you're conscious. Even so, I'm not as skilled as you in Priest Arts and our medical unit are up on the front line with Primous and" "Shusssshh" interrupts Butcher.
*pull him in close*
"Collar, how long will it take". He asks in a serious tone.
"Cause we're bless Knights we heal quicker than most, but in your state it would take days, even a week before you can attempt to get in any kind of serious battles". Collar responded. He then tried to persuade Butcher that its the safer option, that his injuries were too severe and if it weren't for his Blessing he surely would have died.
* look directly at collar*
"and I would have RISEN!!!".
SMACK!!!. "Don't be an idiot butcher!"
"Your asking too much of him" butted in Sarge, "he's right. Don't be more of an idiot than you already are!"
"I think you've gone blind collar, can't you see who your talking too?" Sarge asked.
"Damn?!? How much of an idiot is he?" Collar thought.
"Who knows?" Responded Sarge. Attempting to crawl away and head back to the front, Butcher froze upon reaching the top of the trench.
Causing both Collar and Sarge to worry, upon reaching the top they all witness a horrific sight, bodies upon bodies had been stacked up and laid before Ziair. Which he mocked, calling them worthless, rage began to boil in Butcher, Collar and Sarge.
"I'm heading back out, even if I have to crawl and fight. He will pay for the disrespect he has shown to the dead." Butcher said as he began crawling forward, even though he was just crawling his presence eclipse that of Sarge and Collar who were both emitting massive amounts of Grace.
"What's this familiar presence?" Ziair thought. * anxiously looks around* "no... no.. Butcher?, BUTCHER!!!" Shouts out Ziair in excitement.
"I thought you would have died from those injuries? but you somehow seemed to survive. Great, I rather fight with you than....."
* spots Butcher crawl* .......Ziair quickly went into a depressed state.
Looking behind him Primous spots Butcher struggling to reach the front, while walking behind him were Sarge and Collar.

* calms himself* "YOU FLAMING IDIOTS!!!, TAKE HIS ASS BACK TOO THE TRENCH!!" Primous roared. "How stupid could they be to even think about letting him approach Ziair in his state, I'm barely buying time with the remaining squads and those fools nearly ruined it."
Returning back to the trench after being scolded, Collar attempts to use Priest Arts.
"Collar? Primous can't whole off Ziair forever with his cleverness. Soon he'll grow tired and bored, if that happens he'll challenge Primous directly."
"What are you saying?" Collar asked.
"Q hasn't returned yet, I'm haft dead and Primous hasn't fully recovered for his previous altercations. We're going to lose." Butcher told them.
The realization hit Collar hard and sending him speechless, never in his life of being in the Knight Core had he faced such a situation. His heart started to race as thoughts of losing his closest friends ran through his mind. His head twirled, "Butcher what..what are we supposed to do?" he asked, his voice was fill with confusion, fear and stress. He had always looked to Butcher for help whenever he was in a tight spot but it was reversed now.
"Collar your horns have started growing rapidly every since we've crashed here, though none of us bothered to question why that is."
"What are you getting at Butcher?" Collar question grabbing hold of Butcher as his eyes filled with water.
"First of all remove that weak tone from your voice, speak with confidence. Secondly next time you grab me up, imma smack you. Now I need you to awaken what we've kept asleep inside you for so long." Butcher said.
"What?"
"Shutup I'm talking, go out there and hold off Ziair until the others arrive, don't doubt yourself Collar. I can feel your grace ever so increasing more and more as your horns grow."
Collar was baffled by this news, he had felt his strength increasing but had paid no attention towards it. As he tried to piece together what Butcher was saying, Ziair shout out for Primous to face him. With that sudden declare, Butcher quickly grabbed both of Collar's horns and pull him to his face.
"MAN UP! NOW ITS YOUR TURN, SHOW US THAT YOU AINT THAT LITTLE CHILD, go face him now and send all remaining Knights here, if the medical unit still has members they can help speed up my recovery. COLLAR BUY US TIME!!" Butcher commanded but his tone felt different than usual. Too Butcher, Collar was like his baby brother.
* hugged*
"What are you doing?" Butcher asked, I'm going to make it back." Collar replied as he leaped from the trench and darted off.
*Stairs* "why are you looking at me so Sarge?"
"Didn't know you were so emotional, we call you Butcher but maybe it such be tender..."
* beings to coke* "yeah tender, just like your throat" responds Butcher as he continued to coke out Sarge.
Present time
* stands* "I remember, it said it was a divine being, I've heard that title before." Coming to the realization of what he had fought, fall decide it best not to lose anymore or his tribesmen. "They're two others with that title within the south, I'm sure they probably have been observing the situation. He'll probably appear, fall said in an aggravated voice."
Fall stated. "Agrrhhh, all tribes heads get the injured and dead off the battle field, start making preparations for our return."
"Why?" "Aren't we taking back this territory from the Suits?" Some of the tribesmen asked.

"If you haven't realized it yet, I'm heavily wounded, placing the balance of power into the Suits hands. Unit I'm back at full strength I won't be able to fend off attacks from the BlackSky, which would allow the other two King ranks to run wild."
"We still have the Gatekeepers, they are just as strong to maintain the balance." Replied a tribesman.
"They are but it would take two of them just to hold of the BlackSky." Fall rebutted. "Even now we're surrounded by several Suits and one of them is a king rank."
With Fall regaining some of his strength he began to move his men from the battle, leaving only Ziair and his beastmen to handle the knights.
"Fall seems too understand the situation he placed the tribes in." Ziair thought to himself, "Fall!! I'll return shortly after I've finished these foreigners." He states will waving at Fall.
"Should we really head back and leave Ziair?" Asked a tribesman.
"Ziair is more than capable of handling those Knights, it the Suits that my pose a threat. No worries though, our brothering are watching." Fall said reassuring his men as they make they way through the forest towards the mountains.
"Well there they go, should take two days to reach tribe territory, maybe three with all those injured tribesmen. Men!, got assist and guard Falls return." "Can't afford for other clans or organizations to attack him on his way back" Ziair thought.
While all of this was happening Primous had sent all remaining units back to the trench. "Collar are you sure?"
"I'll buy us enough time Primous, I'm not as weak as before" Collar stated.
Collar then headed towards Ziair. "Are you for real Primous? You're sending me a child to fight, he really must not like you kid." Ziair stated with a smirk.
As Collar approache Ziair continued to mock and provoke him, wanting him to lash out in anger but Collar remained calm and collective.
"Mmhm.. he's a bit different form these Knights, his sent is familiar. Why?" Ziair thought.
Collar was now feet away form Ziair and as he got closer his heart pound louder, faster. He could feel Ziair overwhelming presence even when he wasn't emitting it.
"I can see it on your face boy, you can scene my presence, you see how far above I am too you, yet you came. I respect that but truly why do you have that sent?"
Collar was confused by the question, he knew that he probably smelt bad form not having a bathe in days, how could he though when he was either fighting or fleeing.
"I can see you're over thinking what I just said." Ziair said. "You have the sent of the Oni, I know of only two with that exact sent and they are monsters." Ziair said with a smile, "I've been wanting to test myself against them but I've never gotten the chance", * smirks * "I'm getting excited, if you have their sent then", * tone and mannerisms changes* "then maybe you're a monster too."
ROARS!!!! with a dreaded roar Ziair emits enormous amounts of flow, altering his from Ziair enters into his assault from. From his head grew antlers, his hands grew claws, and his legs transformed into that of a deer . His size and muscles mass tripled in size and his tattoos lit up in a dark purple. He was terrifying. "Ahhhh... Surprised? Unlike my brothering I'm a chimera beastsman.
I hope you can impress me like your friend did."
Collar was overwhelm at the terrifying power Ziair wielded, his body had froze, fear was holding him and when all seem to be lost.
"IGNITE!" bursting into flames causing collar to span back, the flame reminded him of the warmth he had been give from all his comrades. With his heart, soul and body set ablaze collar WHAMM!!! "ARGGGHHH!!! You feel I was going to wait till you was ready to fight?" Ziair asked after launching collar meter aways with a furious strike. "That was ment to kill you but you evaded the full impact, you're quick" Ziair complemented.
"Aggrrhh... his speed is ridiculous" collar thought as he began to pick himself off the ground. * above * diving head first came Ziair, THUDOOM!!! SMASHING the ground with his antlers cause a massive crater upon impact followed by a cloud of smoke.
"He's using the smoke to mask himself *smiles* fool I smell you!!" Whoooooosssh!! Dashing forward towards Ziair, collar lead with a series of furious attacks. Stepping in suddenly Collar threw a sharp cross, grazing Ziair cheek. *Smirks* WHAMM!! With a explosive rigth counter to Collar's face, knocking back and hurdling across the field. The force of the behind the counter created some much wind currents it cleared up all the surrounding smoke in mere seconds.
"He withstood two kill blows. He's interesting", Ziair said with excitement.
"Agrrrrrhhh, not even Butcher has that much weight behind his punches..Agrrrrrhhh... this is bad I'm already this wreck and I've only just begun." Collar thought.
"Your rest time is over" Ziair yelled from above, not before vanishing for sight.
"He vanish?... shitttt", Collar began to panic, his focus was unstable and his decision making had become erratic.
"COLLAR! CALM YOURSELF!!, don't become overwhelmed." Primous advised him, "use the techniques you have been taught." He told him, trying to reassure him but in the midst of his attempts Ziair appeared before Collar. Surging with flow, flow so dense that you could it radiating off his body. Second before impact, Collar's mind was blank as he watched Ziair enormous fist traveling torwards him.
"Shitttttt... REVERSING CURRENT!!!" shouted out Primous towards Collar. *Grips arm*
"What?"
"CRASHING TIED!!" shouted Primous. "He's moving on command?" Ziair thought as Collar instinctively caught and reversed his assault, WHAMMM!! "GRRRHH!!, what's with this look? He looks shock and confused to what just happened, well I'm shock as well. Kinda (BS) is this." Ziair thought.
"I have no clue to how I manage to pull that off but I'm glad I did." Collar had somewhat gain a little bit of confidence, Pooff!!! Raging from within Collar began to surge with Grace.
"You're using the same technique as the Suits?
Heavenly Body, it's impressive you can attain such a level, but just like the Suits, only a few can maintain that level of power. Even Sur can only wield that from for a time before it becomes strenuous." Ziair mouthed off.
Whooossh!! Moving a high speed Collar rushed Ziair, * chuckles* "just cause you've gotten a boost" * glances* "gotcha. DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN SWING WITH THE BIG BOYS!! JET FANG!!" thrusting his arm forward, propelling his flow like a jet bullet towards Collar.
Pooooffff!!! As his JetFang racked up the field as it continues to travel through the forest, whosssssh!!!. Swiftly appearing behind Ziair, Collar was about to launch his assault.
"Not so fast", Quickly turning to face him with a counter "FangDRILLLL!!!" roared Ziair as he rotated his fist upwards toward the descending Collar. "OCEAN ARTS: Diverging Current!. Cried Collar only managing to change Ziair FangDrill a few inches off course.
"You little shi..."
"HEAVY BALLISTAAAA!!!" Roared Collar as he SMASHED!! into Ziair face knocking him aside. * heavy breaths* "he took it without flinching." Collar thought.
* smiles* "I'm getting excited."

8 61The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
