《War Beast》Book Three: Chapter 16

The elephant in a white robe gazed down at Basju. About eight foot tall, he has long white tusks, thick leathery gray skin across his long trunk, and a round cap on his bald head. His small eyes glared into Basju’s soul.
The monkey shivered until he noticed Jenny’s unconscious body in the elephant’s arms. He pulled out his sword and pointed it at the elephant. “Drop the human, now!”
The elephant snickered and pointed his trunk at Basju. From his nostrils, he blasted purple gas into the monkey’s face. Basju shielded his eyes and coughed.
His throat burned as his eyes watered through his fingers. A strong spicy pepper scent overwhelmed his senses. He dropped to his knees and rubbed his eyes.
Once he stopped, his vision cleard as a strange dizziness invaded his head. “Huh?”
All he could see was purple haze surrounding him like a mist. Tall black mountains rose where the city buildings formly stood.
Basju shook his head and looked around again. “Where the hell am I?”
The elephant and Jenny were nowhere in sight. Did the stranger sent the monkey to a different world?
The sand still felt familiar below his prehensile feet and the air smelled a little different. Freah dusty air with a little characoal scent as if the purple mist burned like wild fire. Where ever he was, he has to find the others so they can rescue Jenny. The creepy look in the elephant’s eyes told him the elephant has a wicked plan for the poor girl. Slavery? Torture?
Elephants don’t eat people, but that doesn’t mean they don’t hurt people for their own pleasure. Any Beastman can be vicious, and Basju must stop him.
He raced toward a large square mountain, which might be the hotel. If the mist was an illusion, he has to snap out of it.

He entered a cave, illuminated by the purple haze. The chamber shimmered clearly, but Basju couldn’t see his friends.
“Huntar! Zena!” the monkey cried. “Rani! I need your help!”
Around him, four dark figures rose from the misty floor. Basju sighed in relief, until he noticed something wasn’t right.
The dark figures didn’t appear to be his friends at all. Their eyes glimmered in light purple colors above their long snorts. Sharp fangs, long claws, and no tails were behind their muscled black furry bodies. They rose extremely taller than the monkey, and they growled like ghostly bears. Could they be bears?
Somehow they appeared to be unnatural. No ears were on their skull heads, and they smelled like corpses left at a swamp.
Basju’s legs rattled as a cold shiver ran up his spine. “Who… Who are you!?”
The bear-like creatures on two feet replied with bone-chilling snarls. They sounded very hungry, not caring about the monkey's question.
Basju pulled out his sword and held it up, shaking his blade. Fear never lies when something looks dangerous. “Stay back! I am warning you!”
The creatures stepped forward, raising their long claws up. It was no use. They will not listen to him!
Basju waved his sword around, screaming at the black creatures. He cut one of them through its leg. The creature roared in pain, red blood spilled from its wound. The others lunged for him, but he jumped past two of them, and slashed their backs.
Before he could finish them, something struck behind his head, knocking him into darkness.

Rogue Dungeon: A LitRPG Adventure
From James A. Hunter, author of Viridian Gate Online and War God's Mantle! Check out my first attempt at a Dungeon litRPG Novel! Roark von Graf—hedge mage and lesser noble of Traisbin—is one of only a handful of Freedom fighters left, and he knows the Resistance’s days are numbered. Unless they do something drastic … But when a daring plan to unseat the Tyrant King goes awry, Roark finds himself on the run through an interdimensional portal, which strands him in a very unexpected location: an ultra-immersive, fantasy video game called Hearthworld. He can’t log out, his magic is on the fritz, and worst of all, he’s not even human. Now, he’s a low-class, run-of-the-mil Dungeon monster. Some disgusting, blue-skinned creature called a Troll. At least there’s one small silver lining—Roark managed the grab a powerful magic artifact on his way through the portal, and with it he might just be able to save the world after all. Unless, of course, the Tyrant King gets to him first …Hey everyone, so as most of you know, I write books for a living, and I just put this title up on Amazon (and enrolled it in KU). Because KU requires exclusivity as part of their terms of service, I have had to pull the majority of the content from this site. I left the full novel up for as long as possible, so I hope everyone got a chance to read it. If you haven't had a chance to read it in its entirety (sorry!) you can pick it up on Amazon. Thanks again for coming on this journey with me, and I so hope you enjoyed it. The book will be out on Tuesday July 24th. Best, James Hunter

blacklight
So here’s the deal: my name is Kihri Vyas, and I’m dead. (That’s not really important, it happened ages ago, but it’s good to have the context.) Anyway, me and my sister Zarah (the only person who can see or hear me) have basically been on our own since I kicked the bucket, surviving on the streets of Kaila and sort of just being miserable and bored and tired a lot. I mean, I haven’t, cause I’m dead, but she has. It sucks, but that’s business as usual for us. What isn’t B-A-U is that a bunch of other homeless folks have been disappearing in the last few months, and some of them have been turning up with anatomically-improbable, but extraordinary fatal, injuries. Cops don’t give a shit, of course, and my sister’s a boneheaded bleeding heart, so we’ve been investigating them ourselves. And, well, we’ve found a bunch of weird shit. Stuff made of solid light, ghost attack dogs, people glowing black, somehow, some kind of living robot… Actually, you know what? It’s probably easier if you see for yourself. blacklight is a modern fantasy story it's not about being gay but rest assured its gay as fuck nevertheless it updates fridays at 2 p.m. AEST on its own site at https://spectrochroma.wordpress.com/ Chapters are uploaded here one week after they finish on the main site.
