《Rise To The Absolute Zenith》Another Goal

"He is extremely similar to you. Are you sure that he isn't your twin brother or something?" A playful and childish voice entered Asmodeus's ears. Immediately, Asmodeus clicked her tongue in annoyance. She had just appeared in the room after dealing with Adrian, and now an annoying kid came to pester her.
"Twin brother. Of course, he isn't but I want to unlock the mystery behind our similar appearances..." Asmodeus replied. Her face mask covered most of her face, but the cold crystal blue eyes could cause anyone to choke on air from fear.
"Hmm, well if you truly care about him soo much, why don't you recruit him. After all, if you are interested in him, the longer he remains in the outside world, the higher the chances he may be killed. And I'm not talking about the reason for our appearance, I mean by the schemes of Adrian...."
The childish voice once more ringed in Asmodeus's ears as she shifted her attention from the paper in her hand toward the figure who seemed to like pestering her. She was short, around 5'2 but she had a rack that was even bigger than Asmodeus's own, and her plump ass was nothing to scoff at either. To top it off, her cute and charming face made her out to be an incredibly attractive beauty.
"I don't care if he is killed by Adrian's schemes. That'll just mean he was too weak. Of course, Adrian is unable to directly cause him harm, and if he dares to do it, I'll personally kill him. Even if I am intrigued by the reason for his similarities to me, if he truly does die from Adrian's petty little schemes, then, that'll only mean that he was too weak."
It seemed that Asmodeus didn't care for Blade's situation as her cold voice made it all the more obvious. The mysteries behind his appearance, and that of her own being the only thing that interested her... She then ordered.
"Mia, you have a simple side task. Since we aren't that busy at the moment, I want you to keep an eye on Adrian, and make sure he doesn't overdo it. I also don't want to catch wind of you spying on the boy, else your head along with the head of your lover would be personally detached by my sword..!" Asmodeus said threateningly as the space around Mia contracted, seemingly trying to squeeze her body!...

Like Adrian, Mia could only shake her head as she dropped to her knees with ragged breaths.
As Mia left the room, Asmodeus mumbled under her breath.
Sigh!
"I wonder, is this some sort of coincidence, or is the boy one of 'us'. Is he somehow related to 'my' people? This is the only reason why he would have the same appearance as me...?!" Asmodeus mumbled in confusion.

"Dammit...!" Blade shouted in anger and even hopelessness. He had found himself in a true pickle here after receiving the memories and experience of a Meridian Opening expert.
The reward from the system had caused his headache, and the contents of the reward caused him another headache due to stress!...
After experiencing the life of a Meridian Opening, Blade understood what he needed to do to enter the next realm of power, yet the problem he face was the contents that were now present in his mind.
"In cultivation, the Body Forging realm is the very beginning. Thereafter reaching the peak of Body Forging, one must now try and sense the mysterious force called Life Energy that is omnipresent.
After sensing it, one would then need to slowly will for the Life Energy to enter one's pores and then carry the Life Energy toward their clogged Meridians hidden throughout one's body..."
Blade muttered. He sat in a meditative position as he then gritted his teeth in visible anger and went on to say.
"After unclogging one meridian, one must then go on to unclog all nine meridians present in the human anatomy using the mysterious force called Life Energy. The more Life Energy present in one's surroundings, the faster such actions would be done. Yet, this is where all the problems happen." Blade angrily stated as he then continued.
"When someone is killed, their dead body releases another mysterious energy called Death Energy that goes on to contaminate and corrupt the Life Energy. This brings about such things as diseases and also is the reason why creatures have a limited lifespan.
Theoretically, if one lives in perfectly pure surroundings with perfectly pure Life Energy, once the energy is there forever, one will also be alive and in perfect health forever...never aging and be Immortal and Eternal...!!"
Blade said...
BAM!!
Blade punched the ground that he sat on in wrath as he then said.

"The more death there is, the harder it is to cultivate the mysterious force Life Energy. The worst part is, only with Life Energy, can one surpass the realm after Meridian Opening and all other realms after that.
If I am to go on to kill those people of that city when their bodies release Death Energy, it'll simply make it harder for me to get to my ultimate goal...Immortality.
But, If I don't kill them, it'll be even worse since I'm sure that fiendish city is the cause for many more killings. No, this whole planet filled with humans is the cause for countless deaths that then go on to cause Death Energy to appear."
Blade mumbled in hopelessness. If it was up to him, he would choose to rid the living realm of Latin's city, but even if he does, there is still the rest of the world that would cause the corruption of Life Energy.
"Am I truly evil enough to set my goal as to wipe all living creatures off of this planet to simply get to my goal which is to become Eternal?
I mean, if the humans continuously cause massacres, there will always be Death Energy, but if someone kills every human, after the sudden burst of Death Energy, eventually there wouldn't be any Death Energy, and then Life Energy would slowly become extremely abundant."
Blade mumbled. Slowly, a kind of different and more deadly aura began coating Blade's surroundings. It was as if the very surroundings were sensing what Blade was thinking of doing and were also morphing with his way of thinking.
"Even though I previously said to reach Immortality I'll need to bath in an ocean of blood, I would become a murdered and a villain. It would be a type of path that would be unjustifiable.
Unlike now where I am planning simply revenge, wiping out a whole planet filled with many different human species..." Blade mumbled before he then said.
"To kill billions, I would have to be a monster.
Do I truly want such a title?..." Blade mumbled.
His system's voice then resounded in his mind.
{There is a simple way to assess your current thinking Blade.
Do you want to keep your humanity?
Or do you rather have Immortality?
Do you choose humans that'll cause your eventual death?
Or do you want to be free to do whatever you want?...
You shouldn't try to continue your cultivation with your current flimsy will since, with such a wavy will, you will be unable to summon Life Energy into your body. After affirming your will, and deciding your future path, then you should begin cultivation}
The system said. Its words causing for Blade's mind to clear as those two options played on his mind. Even if even in his previous world, Blade wasn't one to care about others.
But still, simply thinking about killing soo many humans, Blade felt like throwing up. Imagine the amount of blood, death, and carnage he'll have to go through.
Thinking this, the immense pressure and burden he was under, Blade's ability to retain a calm mind had failed him. For some reason, he was unable to remain calm and cold sweat trickled down his back...

(A Few Days Later)
Floating in the waters of the pond was the naked figure of Blade. On his face was a serene expression as he had a cute small bird standing on his shoulder. He had a barely discernable smirk on his face as he slowly exited the pond.
It did not take him long to decide what he wanted to do and which path he decided to take.
He always chased Immortality, why would he allow humanity to get in his way? It was humans who once caused him to gaze at death's doors, so why care for such creatures...
After affirming his will, Blade realized that his luck had seemingly improved by quite a bit.
A day after deciding what path he wanted to walk down, he threw all the dead alligator-like creatures out of the pond. Before even a few hours, heavy rain came and caused the pond to overflow for some reason.
When the skies cleared, the pond was sparkling clean as all the contaminated water had long washed up on the shores. For Blade, it seemed that the very world laws had agreed with his decision...!

Paladin
When the first derelict alien spacecraft fell to Earth, humanity took what was found in it and propelled themselves to new heights. In their new Golden Age, humanity developed technology that they had only dreamed about. The following years saw hundreds more ships crash into the planet, spurring even greater technological leaps. An unassuming spacecraft, one of the dozens that fell yearly, descended on Siberia in 2021. The world took no particular notice of it. However, this one contained something beyond the miraculous technology that had made humans so prosperous. Three years later, in a top-secret underground facility in eastern Colorado, the automated construction of an army of Paladin Mobile Infantry Suits was underway. With this new, state-of-the-art weaponry, the military would turn the tide against the alien incursion that was consuming the planet. Humanity fell before that could happen. Sam was an engineer responsible for overseeing the facility. Now alone, he lives in utter boredom and near insanity, his only company the base’s pseudo AI and an army of empty Paladins. With the world gone to hell around him, and the things that caused it still living above, he decides that he is much better off staying exactly where he is. Unfortunately for him, that is no longer an option. This is the first novel I've written. The first fifteen or so chapters are going to be a little slower. I want there to be time to get to know the characters before they start blowing stuff up. Also, though the MC will be strong relative to the world, he won't be OP, and won't win every fight. Not every fight will be physical either. Currently, I'm aiming for something like 5 fairly short chapters a week, after the introduction part is done, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I've made mistakes!
