《Rise To The Absolute Zenith》Pre-Awakening

A human who was the advisor of this city's city lord. This was who Blade was left scared of the most. How was Blade, a normal human, supposed to escape from the grasp of one of the strongest cultivators in this city? It was illogical to think that, and with that in mind, Blade stood up and began frantically looking around the room for a possible escape route.
{This is why I tried warning you to not pick Body Cultivation}
Suddenly, his system's voice resounded in his mind. Blade then paused his actions after hearing his system's words. Why did he choose the world of Body Cultivation, over Soul Cultivation? It's what a human can refer to as a delicate subject.
"No matter what, I will escape from here. Thereafter, I'll become so strong that no one can give me any sort of feeling like fear!" Blade said. His determination to become stronger now stood over all others besides wanting immortality.
But, soon after saying these words, and before he could restart his search for an escape, Blade suddenly felt a prickling feeling in his chest. He gained a bad premonition! And, as if to confirm that his premonition is correct, Blade felt as if there was someone behind him.
"Oh my, you'll become so strong that no one can give you the feeling of fear. Is this thinking the reasoning behind your false hope to escape from my house?" Suddenly, an eerie voice entered Blade's ear. It was more like a whisper, yet Blade was able to hear all of its contents. As if, the one who just spoke, was right behind him.
Instantly, Blade spun his head around and darted toward the figure standing behind him. What he saw was a middle-aged man with short and neatly combed red hair that had a split in the center.
His light tone skin and naturally elegant demeanor could make anyone think of him as a gentleman, well that was if he did not have on his face, what one can describe as an eerie smile since even his pair of eyes formed in the shape of a smile.
Standing behind him was a middle-aged woman with long red hair tied in a ponytail. She was above average in terms of beauty, and standing next to her was a female kid who looked no older than 10 years.

All three had grins that made their eyes take the form of smiles, creating a creepy scene that caused Blade to be momentarily left stunned stiff. But, his naturally calm instincts flared, bringing him out of his previous state of panic, so that he could now assess his situation, and hope to find an exit.
{There is no way to get out of this. Your best bet is to hope that they somehow do not kill you}
But, the cold words of his system resounded in his mind. Words that made Blade's mood drop but, he wasn't about to place his fate in luck. Not now, and not in the future. Yet, before he could even finish these thoughts, the middle-aged man somehow disappeared from in front Blade's view.
Bam!
Before Blade could even realize it, his vision grew blurred, and he then lost consciousness.
Thud!
His body fell limply to the wooden floor. The trio gazed at his body, but their gazes were filled with completely different emotions.
Unlike the two adults who had gazes that were filled with hunger and savagery, the little female kid, on the other hand, seemed to have a different idea than her parents.
"Daddy, I want him!" She said. Her childish and cute voice could make anyone think of her as a harmless little creature.
"No, it's too dangerous to leave you with anyone?" He said. he did not want something unexpected to happen to his daughter after all.
Humph!
"He doesn't even have any type of cultivation to enter the Body Forging realm, so how can something happen to me?!" She shouted back. Her antics caused a bitter smile to form on the man's face, but she did speak the truth, so he allowed it. Even though he wasn't aware of what she wanted to do with him, it couldn't be too excessive right? Well, even if it was, he cared little about it.
Thereafter, the little girl then ordered her father to tie Blade to the bed in her room. And since Blade wasn't even a Low-Level Body Forging realm cultivator, he had no chance of being able to escape from the rope.

(1 Week Later)
"My lord, it seems that I have found myself in a pickle."

An eerie-sounding voice resounded inside a room. In the room, one can see the figure of the middle-aged man who had previously knocked Blade unconscious, as he bowed while speaking to the man sitting on a chair across the counter. A counter with quite a lot of books and papers that were being read by a human who seemed to be a young man.
"Hmm, Latin, I haven't ever seen such an expression on your face." The young man said without looking away from his paper. He seemed to be entirely engrossed in the words written on the paper in his hand, yet he still replied to the middle-aged man named Latin.
"It's my daughter. She had found herself a plaything. But, the problem is, the plaything will soon die because of how she had been using him." Latin said with a worried voice.
"I don't see the problem." The young man said, as Latin quickly followed up. "There is a very big problem. When that plaything dies, my little honey will be left in immense sadness." He said with worry visible in his eyes.
"Hmm, I can't help you there bud. Every man for themselves once those females turn into crazed apes." The young man said as cold sweat formed on his forehead simply thinking about his own daughter.
.
.
.
Tied to a bed, one can see the bloodied figure of Blade who underwent a full seven days of torture. His nails had long been ripped off, as the only skin he had on his body was on his face. Latin's daughter did not want to harm his handsome face after all.
His literal flesh could be seen, and it was a miracle for him to still be alive. Because of this, he was unlucky enough to gain the interest of even Latin's wife.
They slashed him, whipped him, shattered his bones, and even had insects run amok on his body, simply to see the limits of his mortal body that was very different compared to other mortals.
As the doors of the room opened, revealing a mother and daughter pair who had pink hair and smiling faces, what will take away one's attention will be the three animals inside the cage in the hands of the mother.
The three creatures were three black-colored rats that were nibbling on what seemed to be a frozen leg.
Cough!
Blade coughed a mouthful of blood. His face looked pale and his eyes were losing their light, he had long gotten sick from what he assumed to be an infection from being eaten alive by multiple different insects.
Seeing that they had raised the bar higher, and brought in such big creatures, it seemed that it was that time of the night. The event about to take place was the 'How Long Will He Last' event hosted every night for the past seven days.
And as per usual, the duo of mother and daughter were left confused by the fact that Blade began chuckling. This started on his third day, and it kept growing louder every night. Tonight though, it seemed a little different than usual, as his eyes also gleamed with what seemed to be excitement.
But, they cared little for such a fact as they thought Blade simply lost his mind. With that in thought, walked up to Blade's body that was tied to the bed and placed the cage on his chest. Thereafter, they opened the cage, allowing for the three rats to exit, as they instantly began ripping apart Blade's muscles.
"Hahaha..." Blade suddenly began laughing out loud. His actions startled the duo as a sudden bad premonition was felt by the mother. Even though she did not believe that an ordinary mortal boy such as Blade who is even in a state that would make it impossible for him to simply walk could cause her any harm, she was after all an extremely cautious person.
She cared little for others, even her family, but for her safety, she'll do anything. Anyway, listening to her random gut feeling, she immediately exited the room while ordering her daughter to watch over Blade, as she went to inform her husband who is the only person besides the city lord to make her feel absolute safety.
Hovering over Blade's eyes...

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
