《Spike Hellsing Autobiography: The Chosen》Chapter One - The Chosen Ones

Finally at the age of 484 on the day the volcano erupted there was a strange group of adventurers, they seemed intent on teaming up for some kind of quest so I joined them and we headed toward the volcano. I came to know them all as Cletus Humperdink; human rogue, Thwisp;half-elf bow-woman, Murgil;elf magician, and Gwendalyn;were-lizard gladiator. We had some trouble getting to the volcano a few of the guys almost fell in lava, and lost their shoes but we found a cave going into the volcano.
Inside were three Cultists who immediately attacked us I used my katana to hack and slash at one of them, Cletus was wielding daggers while Thwisp was using a bow and arrows, I believe Murgil was casting fireballs, and Gwendalyn was duel wielding axes. We quickly dispatched two of the cultists but the third sacrificed himself with black magic and exploded directly in my face.
After the battle I was wounded and I had to confide in Cletus that I was a vampire and I needed him to drag a cultist over to me so I could feed and regenerate my wounds. Then Murgil and Cletus put on the two remaining cultist robes as a disguise.
Deeper into the volcano we found a few dozen cultists, Gwendalyn ran in to attack them which would have gotten us all killed but they were all casting some kind of ritual together and they started to sacrifice themselves to speed up the process.
Than a massive dragon ascended from the lava calling himself Chaos Devourer of Universes and said we knew nothing of the multiverse than spewed fire and lava at us. Somehow we all appeared on what we thought was a massive stone slab at the time but it turned out to be a parking lot in some futuristic world, with zombies! (blood thirsty infected mindless humans) a hoard attacked us right away so I readied my blade for the inevitable onslaught. Cletus climbed a light pole but I quickly noticed the people of this world never wore armor. My katana sawed thru flesh and bone in one lightning fast flash after another as I moved around like a blur from one target to the next painting the ground in blood but there were a lot of them. one smashed its own skull open on the pole that Cletus had climbed causing him to fall but they were no match for the likes of the chosen ones and we over came them.
We raided the mall not knowing what most of the stuff was at the time but we saw lights in the distance so we went to check it out. That's where we met Jack one of the only human survivors left on this planet he called Earth. He taught us many things such as what weed was as well as TV, Computers, lighters, flashlights it was a wondrous world at the time, but he said there was a giant abomination that could easily destroy his house so he taught us about guns.

The first time we used guns we all nearly got ourselves killed dropping them all over the place but the noise attracted the giant undead monster. I quickly jumped to the creatures leg than to it's hand and ran up its arm and impaled my katana into its shoulder. I drew my revolver with the other hand and started shooting it in the head at point blank range. The rest of the crew was using their new guns and some magic but the foe was quite powerful. The battle raged on and the beast was looking quite injured. I let go of my katana and stabbed my two machetes into its head, just as Cletus shot its face and its skull split open so I sheathed my blades and grabbed onto my katana again but the beast continued to pound away with its massive uninjured arm so I steadied myself with my sword, the blade still imbedded in the abomination. Slowly it stopped trashing and just as it fell to the ground I pulled my katana from its flesh and leaped back to the ground.
After the battle Fate appeared and explained to us that she saved us from Chaos The Devourer of Universes and that we had to get ready to destroy him. She gave us all a magical gift each (I believe this was when she gave me my cloak). And she sent us to a new world once again.
This time we were in a grassy field, we met a traveling merchant who told us we were in the world of Calderia and that there was no magic in this world and that it was against the local law but in consequence of that; the gear available in this world was more powerful than normal but non magic. So I bought a set of black full plate to go with my new cloak.
We explored the land and found a great lake, we traveled along the shore until we found a town. Outside the town gates were a few merchants and Murgil purchased a "un-openable" jar because he detected magic from it. He later used a spell to break the seal on the jar and inside was a intelligent shape shifting blob, so it joined us and told us his name was Pi. Later we were resting at a inn and I was looking for someone to feed on and that's when I saw a large man hit a smaller woman and tell her to go home so she left the bar. I followed her but she saw me and started to run away and ran into an ally so I jumped to the roof tops and started to stalk her. Eventually jumping onto her and draining her blood. I felt bad for killing such a poor woman so I cut my hand and dripped my blood into her mouth.

The next morning we were talking about our experiences and a bartender overheard our conversation so I drew my gun but it slipped from my hand and he shouted that we where magic users but Thwisp used her... *sigh* "charm" to distract the crowd and we escaped. As we ran through the streets I shouted that there were magic users back toward the bar to cause a mass confusion WAHAHAhahahaha.
We found three sailors Thick, Long, and Skip and hired them to sail us across the lake. About halfway across the lake a tentacle grabbed our ship and before I could cut it off half the ship was under water and there was a giant squid on the deck. It attacked us with tentacles and shot jets of water at us almost knocking us into the water. I used my katana to sever some of its tentacles while the others shot it with arrows, fireballs, and attacked it with knifes. Thick and Long even helped out in the battle. After the beast was dead Fate appeared and gave us gifts, this was when she gave me my magical sheath. It could hold any blade because it used space magi-tech to create what we called a pocket dimension. We carved up the beast and collected some scales and other parts for crafting. Fate then teleported us once again.
In the next world we appeared in the center of an arena in the middle of a battle. There was a female warrior standing in shock and we were attacked by summoned creatures so the slaughter began. The five of us had no trouble dispatching the soulless apparitions and the warrior even joined in, the crowd loved us.
After the battle we were approached by the coliseum enchanters who offered to sponsor us. We agreed to partake in another battle and in return our enchanters empowered the equipment we bought in the last world and they told us that this world was strongly based around magic and it was called Misteira. They gave us a day to explore the city before our next battle.
We found magi-tech crystals in this world but never knew what it was at the time, it was perception magi-tech, the people of this world used it to create a fabricated reality that they could go inside and socialize but it was illegal to have a private dream crystal. As a vampire I could not dream so I got my sponsor to help create an enchant on a gem to allow me to enter a lucid dream. I used my lucid dream crystal a lot to build prototypes and organize all the information in my head in a more manageable way.
The next morning our sponsors told us the arena summoners were planning a new ritual to summon a very powerful adversary. Once we got to the arena floor we saw a massive abomination crafted from all of the body parts the arena had collected after battles. Covered in arms, legs, and eyes with patches of fur and scales. Teeth, beaks , and claws everywhere. I leaped onto what looked like a arm, impaled my katana into its meat all the way to the bone and ran up to its shoulder and down its back, katana splitting open the flesh and spraying blood all the way. The others hit it with volleys of arrows, fireballs, and bullets. After a few minutes of battle we were tired and low on mana but the beast was burned, cut, shot, and stabbed all over. The arena was covered in blood and you could smell the burning flesh of the creation. The monster was barely able to move and yet it still would not die. Fate appeared and dematerialized the mangled suffering creature.
After the battle Fate announced us as the chosen ones before the entire crowd and gave us all rewards. I was gifted with a computer I never knew it at the time but was a magi-tech powered tablet PC I called it a magi-tech tome it automatically downloaded information wirelessly as well as access computers and control them. Later Murgil was granted a tome that could do the same but with books, copying any information from nearby books and displaying the information useful to him in the moment as needed.
Fate told us she had made a solar system beyond the edge of the universe and that we would have 2 months to get ready before we had to battle Chaos and then she teleported us once again.

The Priest of Genes
Meet Seth, acolyte in the Church of Virtue. He’ll be a Priest like his father soon, he just knows it. Sure he didn’t inherit his mother’s preaching power, but he doesn’t mind being the secondary priest at whatever temple he is assigned to. Just as long as he has a library. Meet this genetics textbook. Hmm, that doesn’t belong here. It must have come from somewhere far away, I guess something happened to its owner. I’m sure a studious young man who likes healing could go far with this information, whether he wants to or not. This is my first time really writing anything, so I hope you like it! Please let me know if I make any mistakes; I have a new R&D tech job at a genomics company, so I probably don’t edit as much as some people. I’m shooting for two thousand-ish word chapters released on Sundays, since none of the webnovels I read ever seem to update that day. Underserved Market! Genre is fantasy, possibly progression fantasy. Maybe a tiny bit litRPG if you wait a while and squint really hard, but that’s the most I’m prepared to claim. Hedged my bets on the content warnings, nothing that bad. Cover art from A. W. Gelman

Shift (Ben 10+DCU Fanfiction)
Omnitrix+ DCU, what's not to like? The main character will not be Ben Tennyson, rather someone from our world who gains the Omnitrix Hello! This fanfiction Shift is what I wanted to do for an homage to what I thought were underrated pieces of media, Ben 10 and some DCU characters. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t add context to two of the major works that inspired Shift, Dial, and A Practical Guide to Evil. Dial is another ben 10 fanfiction, however that story takes place in the MCU, and with an adult that is already a grown-up at the beginning of the story. Dial, by my own accounts, is more superficially Like shift, even though the Omnitrix is a central device in both. My protagonist starts out around 18 years old, so is less serious and can build relationships with some of the junior justice league members, and then later on in the story meet the Justice League officially. The tone will be more light-hearted at the beginning of the story as teenagers are known to use sarcasm and jokes at each other’s expense. Furthermore, in Dial, the protagonist has a well-developed knowledge of the MCU which he uses to have knowledge on events and characters, that the character in Shift will not have. While the MC will have some knowledge of people's abilities, lesser-known characters and people's real identities will be not included as much, but the MC of Shift will have some knowledge. APGTE's influence is deeper than Dials'. The epigraphs at the beginning of every chapter are an example of that, a place for light-hearted jokes and worldbuilding that's not pure exposition, but I also want to incorporate narrative stories to Shift (heroes win more than lose, providence, etc) on a lighthearted scale. While the heroes of Shift will have to work to win against villains, the MC of Shift will be allowed limited precognition, through narratives tropes and archetypes as a trade-off of less knowledge of the DCU. For example, a villain a hero faces might monologue, but the MC will not instinctively know how to counter every villain they encounter. I also wanted to bring in more realism than usual superhero stories, ie: the MC cannot just walk and have a meeting with Batman or Superman, he would have to “work his way up” in terms of credibility and whatnot. The Aliens that show up in Shift I tried to make different than the ones in Dial, just to share the love for lesser-known characters. And to make it fairer for the villains of the DCU, the main character will not wantonly use if gain at all an Alien X or a ben 10 form of Kryptonians, just so the characters have to work a little bit for victory. I urge anyone reading to consider checking out both APGTE and Dial as they are both amazing works, and I hope you enjoy them. The beginning of how the MC enters the DCU will not be as important as him actually existing in that universe, so that is why a ton of time is not spent on that part of the story. Chapters will be around 2.5 thousand words and come out around every weekday.
