《Raising Phoenix From Today》Chapter 8: Mother

The next day she walked out and took a seat at the restaurant to order food. She saw from the corner of her eye a person who was covered in cloak and hood which was similar to her walking out from the restaurant. What caught her eye was the necklace the figure was wearing. The item was very familiar to her.
She got up and tried to follow, however she saw another figure getting up from far end of the room and walk out following the figure. As the cloaked figure took 20 steps from the restaurant the figure was surrounded. They were in battle clothes.
However the person did not panic. One of the surrounding people walked forward "I am warning you, obediently follow us back to the mansion or your fate will be worse along with your family. No one can defy Lord Black Noir in this empire. Even the king has to listen to him" The man ordered.
The person did not move nor reply.
"You are very stubborn and foolish" the man shouted and took a step forward to attack but as he took the step he flew back with force without knowing how and fell a long distance away.
"You... you are not a level 3 or 4 mage you are of higher ranking" another said with a shock. "No one mentioned this in the details" he panicked.
"Everyone attack simultaneously and try to stall I will contact Sir Berman and inform this" said another warrior.
However a water bullet pierced both their heads and they fell down without a scream "Thudd..."
Then chaos ensued, one of the opponents magic was about to hit the person but the figure slightly moved the head missing the attack and the hood came off.
Sachi who was shocked to see a high level mage from the family was thunderstruck as the hood fell. It was a woman and biggest shock was the person standing right infront of her and fighting the group was none other than her mother.

Her mother who was very silent, obedient and whom she thought was a normal housewife was actually a high level mage and it is above level 5 at that.
She quickly came out her stupor as she saw one of them trying to tackle with a weapon from the back. She quickly ran forward and jumped on to the attacker with an ice lance killing him.
This was Sachi's first human kill. Her hands trembled a little but she did not panic or go into shock, if she was the previous Sachi, it may be difficult however the Sachi who was reborn is different and she did not stop. Because she knew if not her enemy then she will be the one falling.
The lady was surprised to see someone help her even after knowing the situation. The helper was covered in a cream colour cloak with a hood similar to her style.
She fought her opponents as she looked at her helper trying to figure out the intention.
Sachi walked to her mother's side, "we need to quickly move out, and cannot stay here. The sentries and the mayor may come at any time"
Sachi's mother was shocked to hear the voice. This voice is very familiar to her; this was the voice she longed to hear very much these past few days. Her days were torturous after hearing her daughters missing news.
However she understood the situation and controlled her emotions like a professional. Sachi's mother was very adept at fighting; she fought with her opponents without a sweat and killed them. After killing their pursuers both ran to the horse stable without a word and quickly raced them towards the exit.
The sentry on the top was the person she saw the previous night. "Oh it's you, what happened you are not returning?" Jack asked.

"My master sent a message through this person for another important mission so I may not be able to return home anytime soon" she replied as she threw another pouch at him.
Jack caught it with a smile, thanking their generosity "Ah! The Vera family is really known for it's generosity. Hope you can comeback soon" he said opening the gate.
The other one walked forward "I apologize for my mistake yesterday I thought you were a man" he apologized.
"It's not a big deal" replied Sachi.
"What is the commotion previously?" he asked again.
"I think it's the Polam family and some rogue mages fighting" replied Sachi.
"That family, I think it's going to go down after the recent incident" commented Jack.
"Maybe you are right" Replied Sachi as both she and her mother left.
Then they raced the horses with high speed towards the deep forest instead of the road to the next town.
After a long time they stopped at a mountain which is very far from the town and dismounted.
As soon as they got down both mother and daughter hugged tightly and cried.
"Oh my precious, my little sweetheart" her mother cried as she tried to calm Sachi down. "How I longed to hear this voice. Thank you magic god or the great power above, whoever you are I thank you for bringing my daughter back alive and safe to me."
"Mom... Mother" Sachi hiccupped.
After a long time both calmed down and sat down on a rock.
"Mother what happened?" Sachi asked.
Her mother sighed looking into the sky "After you left the family was very happy at the opportunity, except me. However, it did not last long as we received news of the attack. Someone claiming to be disciple of Black Noir came to the mansion and informed that you were missing or probably taken by the attackers and all others were dead.
Then he accused us of colluding with Shadow organization and that his master received an SOS about it from a loyal servant who sacrificed himself."
Sachi thought about Martin for a brief moment, the man who gave final order in dying breath to cover her safety. "And then?"
"Then he captured your father and few elders and took them to the capital as prisoners, while the rest of the family were put under house arrest. I was not able to take this anymore and escaped to look for you. My heart said you were alive so I did not want to give up."
"How many days has it been?" Sachi questioned slowly digesting the information.
"We received about your news of missing 10 days ago. You father and the elders were taken away after two days. From then I started planning. It's been three days since my escape" Sachi's mother replied.
"Enough about me and the family, now tell me about you and how you have escaped from the attackers" she asked eagerly.

For Grass and Glory
Being old is difficult. But losing the love of your life to natural selection and being left in the dirt is even harder. Join Walton in his final journey as he figures out if his principals are just as important when there is nothing left to lose. Combating hypocrisy, youth, bad diet practises and a general lack of respect towards humanity, Walton's struggles are the true adventure of the everyday man. A story about unlikely friendship, being old, unexpected beauty, and the obsession of kicking a round leather ball in the best way possible. A story about a new world, and its possibilities. A story about the grass, and let us hope, a small bit of glory? Author note: This is a project of mine I started in 2016 and recently been writing for again. Writing for me is something I love to do, but can't always find the time for. This is also the reason I have not finished (or come close to) Ethereal Space yet. I get distracted. I started this novel intending to create something else, to break a bit with the current go to's story wise in the litRPG or virtual reality communities. So, this is my attempt at "Something different" I would love feedback or just your general opinion. But most of all, I hope it entertains. Enjoy!

Path of Righteousness
What do you desire? What are you afraid of? You run away from one, pursuing the other. Is that all you are? Conquer your fears. Dig to the bottom and confirm, what you really want... ...For you cannot escape suffering and death. You only have a little time. Use it wisely. Uru, a young boy with no talent for magic or fighting, sets out on a quest to become an avatar of order, the physical embodiment of righteousness, in a distant future, where control of origin energy allows people to defy physics and manipulate causality. Mocked by fate and broken by impossible dreams, all that's left is to stand in defiance to cruel existence. Because there is a Truth out there, somewhere. Singular, transcendent, eternal. What would you sacrifice for it? *** This is a fantastic sci-fi epic. It's going to blend both western and eastern traditional fantasy tropes – like might & magic and cultivation – with rational sci-fi grounded fully in reality, to produce a purely fictional fairy tale. I'd like to deliver something light-hearted and yet wholly serious. An uplifting adventure exploring the unfathomable reaches of humanity, free of indecency, with a healthy dose of humorous banter, legendary beings, and most importantly – lots of exciting, firework-filled mayhem! I've tried reading many web novels, but there's a fundamental problem with them – the eastern ones are annoyingly repetitive, superficial and morally destitute, while western ones are often dark, convoluted and profane. There's only so much one can do to filter out the bad and try to fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It's one thing to eat tasty fast food, but if it's moldy and filled with toxins, then it's not only poisonous, but also disgusting. The appreciation of beauty and higher values is disappearing at an alarming rate. Although there are throngs of talented people out there, none of them are creating what I want to witness – an inspiring battle against impossible odds, ending in absolute victory. A triumph of the spirit so overwhelming, it crushes the spectator into his seat and takes his breath away. I'm looking for a real paragon, so now I'd like to try conceiving one. *** The MC's name comes from Tolkien's Elven dictionary in Silmarillion, 'Uru' meaning 'Fire', and 'Dagnir an Uruloki' meaning 'Slayer of Dragons'. *** Note: I'm neither a native speaker, nor an aficionado of literature – I've never written anything before, and despite proficient English my literary prowess is abysmal. It therefore takes me a painful amount of effort to polish the chapters and bring them up to par. Last year I wrote and posted some on FictionPress, but I stopped since it wasn't going anywhere. The appalling amount of filth and mediocrity being peddled in all the media nowadays – a result of no conspiracy to manipulate the masses, but plain supply and demand – is no longer just the triumph of form over substance, but most worryingly corruption of the latter. Who wants to read about ideals anymore? And yet, masses flock together to gobble up perversion and depravity. That being said, I can't rule out pitiful exposure as the culprit to my failure, so I am now once again trying to increase it here, possibly for the last time. If there are still human beings present, hungry or in need of a detox after eating too much garbage, make yourselves heard, so I can see a reason to continue the story. Otherwise it's pointless – I'm not going to make fodder for the masses, and I'm most certainly not going to throw pearls before swine. I'll simply stop writing altogether.
