He hadn’t lost her.

He always thought that he would lose

everything that he loved. But that wasn’t true.

Not at all. He might never see her again, but he hadn’t lost her.

He never would. He finally made the right

decision about something:

he let her go.

She never really needed him,

But he had needed her, more than he realized even

at the time he decided to let her go. Self-reflection

wasn’t a habit of his. Until her. As he finally had

some time alone, he found himself

thinking about the past.

She didn’t change him exactly.

But he did learn from her. Not everyone was lost

in the galaxy. Not everyone was fake. Some like her knew

what they wanted and were strong enough to chase

after it. He learned what that felt like because

of her. He had chased after her heart

and would forever carry it

with him.
