《Marauding Gods》Chapter 09:

I was flying through the sky.
How?
Aina, obviously.
Yeah, yesterday, I discovered that I had a monstrous talent for using aina. So here I am, flying through the sky, with beneath me nothing but white cottony clouds.
"Moooo," I heard from behind me.
When I turned around to see where the noise was coming from, I saw Maa behind me, riding a seven-colored unicorn. So suddenly, taken aback by what I had just witnessed, I lost balance and fell from the sky.
Maa, being herself, naturally flew toward me to save me from the fall. It was then, once again, I heard, "Moooo."
To my surprise, the moo sound came from the unicorn.
Though Maa's speed was fast, my fall speed was even faster because, as I looked below, I saw the distance between me and the ground getting closer and closer, while Maa was getting farther and farther.
From the looks of it.
In a few seconds, my body will p, the same way a rotten tomato would, slam, squish, smushily against the ground.
I guess it's the end then. It was a fun ride, "I said without any regret, ready to face death.
Yet "Criss…"
My "death" was interrupted by a metallic noise, which was immediately followed by a bath in sunlight.
"Good Morning, Young Lord."
I saw the tall, dark, and white silhouette of the manor's butler as my eyes adjusted themselves to the sudden light.
"I am sorry to interrupt Young Lord's seemingly very pleasant dream, but it is time for you to take your breakfast and, of course, your medicine."
The voice belonged to Syrius, the manor's beloved and only butler.
Medecine? Why would I need medicine?
"Medicine?" I asked, still drunk from my sleep."Why would I need medicine?"
"Yes, medicine, Young Lord. Have you forgotten about your arm?" "
At the mention of arms, I tried to move mine only to screech, "Ah!" in pain.
It was then that the truth finally snapped up within me. As I removed the sheet that had been covering my body, it was revealed that my right arm was wrapped in several layers of white bandage from wrist to shoulder.

I finally remembered everything.
One week ago, I got entangled in a very unfortunate incident. Incident in which I, Ronandt, dislocated my elbow.
How exactly did it happen?
Well, it happened on the day I figured out how to use Aina. Naturally, like any scientific experiment, the experiment that finally turned out to be successful had to be repeated. It was necessary to do so in order to identify patterns and other details regarding aina-wielding.
That's it, I did it for scientific purposes and absolutely not because I was in such an ecstatic state after having discovered how to use aina, I carelessly and cockily repeated the experiment.
So, while I was conducting my second experiment: the mighty aina-enhanced Ronandt punch, just as I was delivering it, I heard a snapping sound coming from my right arm.
At that time, strangely, I lost sensations in my right arm, or more precisely, I couldn't feel anything from the elbow to the fingers.
It was then, as I looked over it again, that I saw a strange deformity on my elbow.
I'm still not sure if it was a secondary effect of aina or just adrenaline, but back then my arm was so numb that it didn't immediately feel the pain. I was completely calm and serene. However, I knew it wouldn't take my body long to officially register the shock and make the pain unbearable.
I knew that I needed to immediately seek help from someone in the house, but perhaps by fear of that which was to come after, my first thoughts after noticing my dislocated elbow were, "What should I do?" If they find out that I hurt myself within the library, I will definitely be stripped of access to the library for a very long time. "
Several other stupid questions trotted across my mind, but after a relatively short time, I devised a bold yet effective plan.
Grabbing a thick book with my non-injured arm, I, after having made sure that no one was in the corridor, exited the library and went down the stairs to the ground floor while keeping a watchful eye on my surroundings.
As soon as I got to the ground floor, I tossed the book against the ground with my might, and it slammed with a loud and explosive "Paaah" loud enough to at least reach the dining room, where I could already hear a hurried footstep coming my way.

Soon, the face of the person to whom these footsteps belonged was finally within sight.
The person was, with graying hair and an old man's expression, no one else but Syrus, the manor Butler.
"Young Lord, What was that commotion? What happened? "
"Syrus, I tumbled down and I think I twisted my elbow," I said, only to notice my voice quivering and my eyes welling up with tears.
Syrius hurried from where he stood to inspect me, but by the time he did, I felt it. Tears were streaming down my face.
Tears huh? It seems like everything went according to plan. At least... I wish tearing was part of my plan.
Perhaps the sudden movement I made when throwing the book against the floor was the trigger for the pain to be unleashed, but the actual pain that followed was beyond my expectations.
In any case, that day, for the first time in four years, I cried.
This brings us now back to the present, where Syrius woke me up. With Maa's absence, since Maa was now Syrus' responsibility to look after me.
Before the accident, he let me do pretty much whatever I wanted. As long as I didn't skip the three daily meals and slept at the appropriate time as I had promised, he wouldn't comment on anything.
But, in the last few days, Syrius has changed. He has evolved. Perhaps because he believed the accident was caused by his carelessness, but the Syrius from before the accident had vanished, leaving behind a more overprotective, and over-exaggerating one. A second version and a male version of Maa
I was, as expected, prohibited from using the library until my right arm had healed completely, which, according to doctor Syrius, could take anywhere from four weeks to a year.
"How is the Young Lord's arm doing?" he asked.
"As you can see, I'm perfectly fine as you can see. In fact, I feel so great that I think I'll be fine even without any medications at all from now on. "
The medicines I was referring to were some sort of bitter soup, which when asked what they were made of, I would be told by Syrius that in life there are things better left unknown.
This left me to wonder what exactly this man was feeding me.
With a deadpan expression to my proposition, Syus answered, "I wouldn't advise it. If I stop your treatment, the injuries might worsen and quite possibly get infected; if it does, I'm afraid I'd have to amputate Young Lord's right arm."
"Huh?"
"I was entrusted with the duty of looking after the Young Lord in Mathilda's absence. Duty that I intend to complete by returning to the Young Lord in one piece. But if the young Lord insists, my humble self will stop the treatment. But I'm not sure Maa will be pleased to see a One-armed Young Lord instead of a full-armed one when she returns. "
"Okay- Okay, I was just joking."
Oh, I almost forgot.
No, Syrus did not consult a doctor to rectify my elbow. Instead, he fixed it himself.
It was such a frightening, trauma-worthy experience, especially when I didn't know he knew anything about putting an elbow in place. I didn't know that at the time, so when he grabbed my arm to put it back in place, I thought he was trying to kill me.
It would undoubtedly be a traumatic event for any reasonable four-year-old. After all, even I wasn't able to handle both the pain and the fright. I even faintly recall fainting from the experience.
I was slowly but steadily recovering and did my best to forget the memories of that cursed day. But hey, as unfortunate as that day was for me, ironically, thanks to that accident, I was at least finally able to open up with Syrius. We could now, as earlier, have a conversation with him without feeling awkward for either of us.
He may not appear to be so, but he is a very pleasant guy. His remarks can be a little bit over-sarcastic at times, but he is a nice guy overall.
