Hoshikawa was transported into Kuroyuki's memory projection where he witnessed the harsh truth that he was actually his brother, while Kazuki was just a biological stranger. As he saw the unraveling of the memories, Hoshikawa grew more convinced that the thing he was seeing was just an elaborate trick.

The Itsuka family then constructed a convincing lie with their influence in which Kazuki was told that he wasn't born on the 14th, but on the following day after. That gave them some reason to not care for him enough, while still maintaining the deception that he wasn't their biological child. He was led to believe that his parents tried hard but failed in calculating his birthdate.

"This isn't real... there's no way--- this is just an illusion!!" Hoshikawa tried to break free from the projection by punching himself, but to no avail. He also realized that his body wasn't as injured there as he was actually in the real world, "you're lying!!---"

"I am not lying!!" Kuroyuki replied with anger, seeing Kazuki's mother bringing him out of the hospital made him more unhinged. Hoshikawa could see the dark aura seeping from his back. He then continued, "my 'parents'... believed in the superstition that those who were born on the 14th of January, especially from the Itsuka family will bring luck to their lives. That's why they snatched me for their insane beliefs,"

The room then suddenly shifted into a modest home, somewhere in the suburbs. The house was decent, lacking in lavish electronics and furniture. There was a middle-aged man vacuuming the floor, as well as his wife doing the dishes. Hoshikawa could hear a noise coming from upstairs. When he got there, Kuroyuki was already there and already watching his younger self reading a comic book. He seemed to be enjoying his time, just like a typical child would.

The memory shifted again, showing how the Erizawa family stumbled into a downward spiral of misfortune. They were involved in an accident that led to their inability to work, with this, the Erizawa family spiraled into debts and getting poorer over time. Kuroyuki was bullied in school for being born on the 14th of January. This bullying background was common to those who were born on that date, as the students slandered those who were born on the lucky date but not from the Itsuka family.

The projection then changed to Kuroyuki looking upwards at the Itsuka family mansion which could be seen from his balcony. He wondered to himself, what if he was born from such lucky lineage. He then headed back into his room, overthinking for the rest of the night.

The projection then leapt to the early days of the warriors, Kuroyuki could be seen jumping from one rooftop to the other with Kotetsu, aiming to look for survivors from the fallen chopper that contained many Oras including Rin at that time.

Suddenly, a pack of hunters which was unknown to them at that time attacked. Kuroyuki and Kotetsu fought fiercely with all their might, but still couldn't overpower the hunters. At one point, Kuroyuki was thrown onto a pillar, instantly destroying it and buried him among the rubbles. His counterpart meanwhile, succeeded in locating RIn, the last survivor of the fallen Oras.

Kuroyuki's face could be seen from the rocks he managed to push aside, he was trapped with only his head and hand visible. "Kotetsu! Help me!!" he cried as 3 hunters were turning their heads towards him, making him more terrified. Kotetsu glanced at him, then looked away cowardly. He then left while carrying Rin. Kuroyuki was left alone to die, just because Kotetsu wanted to live longer.

The projection then cut short there, Kuroyuki ended with, "The next thing I know, the darkness was in front of me. Yamisuke offered a fraction of his power, of which I accept. My initial goal was to take revenge on Kotetsu who abandoned me... but then he got turned into a demon before I could do anything. Then as the memories came back, and as I understand what hides inside Kyuuto--- I know that I should do more than just to take revenge on him,"

Hoshikawa then asked about what is hidden inside Kyuuto, to which Kuroyuki replied, "I'll let his brothers explained it to you," he then shoved the donut he previously offered to Hoshikawa into his mouth, forcing him to eat, "before they come, make sure your stomach is full first, brother,"

"You're not actually gonna do that, are you?"

Kazuki was stopped by Hikiri when he tried to stab Kyuuto on the heart in the middle of the night. Kyuuto was playing decoy by pretending to sleep after Aosuke told him about the possibility of Kazuki looking for shortcuts.

The ward room then suddenly lit with the warriors surrounding Kazuki in his interrupted action. They were ready to attack him at any time. Realizing he's been caught, and avoiding the same sentiment of suspicion, he dropped his broken zodiac sword.

"I--- was just... I want to save my brother," he lamented, hopelessly walking away from Kyuuto's bed, "I don't know what else I could do," he then bumped his head to the wall.

Rin suddenly snapped, an idea struck her head, "I think I know what we should do," she then punched Kyuuto in the face.
