《The Noble Curse of Ookami [Previously Titled: CLOSER]》Breaking Point

Rin, Kyuuto, Ishigaki, and Kanata soon followed Kentarou and Yato's steps into the woods. The malfunctions caused by Yato were still felt by the residents, while the sky gradually became darker, only sparkled with lightning.
When the team arrived at the clearing, they saw Yato lying face-down not far from the cliff, while Kentarou was standing strongly not far from him. He was heating up one of his fists.
To everyone's surprise, Ishigaki suddenly jolted his way towards Kentarou with his powered auric, punching him away from Yato, and into the ocean.
He then helped the beaten up Yato to stand up, "Thank you for that," he then looked at the ripples on the ocean surface right after Kentarou vanished from sight.
Ishigaki seemed very serious about punching him to drown, after Kyuuto reached him, he told the team that, "That was not him... that was someone else,"
"By someone else, you mean---" Rin was trying to fill in the blank while helping Yato with his wounds.
"An ancient soul, yes. A dangerous one," when he was just starting to explain who he was referring to, Kentarou's head bobbed from the water, gasping for air.
----
After they pulled Kentarou out of the water, he snapped back to normal. He seemed terrified as to what he had done, albeit outside of his control. He was reduced from a fierce fighting warrior, to a paranoid one.
Yato meanwhile was not convinced, he was too far gone into the assumption that Kentarou himself was the one killing his countless victims. While on a train of rage, he choked Kentarou who was still having difficulty breathing, but then got separated by Kyuuto.
"Kentarou or not, it won't get my family back," Yato grieved, then left the team into the night.

"I'm so sorry..." Kentarou lamented, remembering all of his killings, "I don't know what to do with this," he seemed genuinely confused.
----
The next day, the team was called by the leaders to their office to talk about the whole ordeal. Kentarou seemed even more paranoid than before.
Yato meanwhile, started to spread the news that the Akazaru killer was actually Kentarou to the guardians in the residents area.
The residents gasped at the idea that indeed Akazaru was actually one among the warriors. But some weren't convinced right away. Yato himself, still consumed by anger, insisted that Kentarou must be publicly executed.
"It doesn't make any sense," Raizen commented, "the ancient souls supposed to come after Yamisuke's initial comeback, not before... Do you remember how it all started?"
Kentarou then explained that 'someone' was helping him at the time when he was fighting to take back his younger sister Aiko, who was kidnapped when they were living with their grandmother.
----
The night was cold after a storm, Kentarou noticed there's a black van parked not far from the house. At first he didn't pay much attention to it, but as the night progressed, he grew more concerned.
In the dead of night, the front door suddenly burst open. Screams could be heard from the kitchen. Surprised, Kentarou sprinted from his bedroom to witness his grandmother assaulted by a group of masked men.
"Grandma!!" he tried to fight them by throwing a ceramic vase to one of the assaulters. He didn't have time to dodge and got hurt from a reasonably hard and heavy vase hitting his face.
The other men were more agile and managed to stop him on the spot. Meanwhile a muffled scream could be heard from the other room... Aiko's room, Kentarou's little sister.

One of the men was holding her by her pajama's collar, she looked suffocated while her hands and feet were bound. The man then proclaimed, "You're Kentarou, right? Your father had made a mistake by crossing us, and he had to pay the price..." the man then menacingly looked at Aiko, "I think this would suffice, let's go,"
He then commanded his henchmen to release the other two, Kentarou tried as hard as he could to release himself from the struggle. But after he got punched in the stomach, he went unconscious.
----
"I don't remember exactly what happened... but I saw this... man and he said that he'll help me if I also help him, I never know who he was," Kentarou ended his story.
"What do you mean? Where did you see this man?" Rin asked in confusion.
Kentarou paused for a moment, and looked through the office's window, he realized that Yato had gathered the people to execute him. He then looked at his teammates, "I saw him in a dream... right after the man punched me. Since then, I always have this alien power in my hand. I.. always convinced myself as a hero that can save anyone, even though..."
----
After meeting the mysterious man in his dream, he was able to track down the kidnappers into their hideout. With pure vengeance in mind, Kentarou stormed the place with his profound power.
"Where is she?!" he clenched his fist on the kidnapper's collar when he found him, Aiko was not there though.
The man only laughed, and looked at his fallen fellow criminals on Kentarou's hand. He also noticed Kentarou's right fist that's indescribably glowing. After some struggle to breathe, he finally spoke as a rattle could be heard from above, "There..." the man pointed to a helicopter whizzing by as seen from the room's window.
The man then laughed a bit more, "You have no idea what you're up against," he said while still struggling to breath. Kentarou, enraged, slammed the man across the room.
The aircraft was too far gone now, there's no chance for Kentarou to chase it.
----
"... after that, the next time I blinked, the man was already brutally dead. I don't remember what I did to him after that confrontation... he's the one doing it," Kentarou lamented in his memories.
In the end, Kentarou failed to save his sister, while his grandmother's health declined over time, and they never got any word from his father, "My father... he was a gambler. When my mom found out about it, she stirred into a wave of depression and became an addict. They were divorced when Aiko was still in pre-school," he ended his story.
The people finally breached the school with Yato in the front line, they were finally able to break through the office door. The warrior with thunder-element unsheathed his sword and pointed to them.

Summoner's Journey
[Before you read - the story is officially dead. The reasons behind it are posted in the last chapter.] In a magic world on the verge of an industrial revolution, Ari Ragnarsson must uncover the truth behind his parents' disappearance. They were part of an organization known as the Order, which protects mankind from various threats - both human and supernatural. Now, after Ari's brands finally manifest, he leaves the safety of his village and travels to the continent. Strength is all that matters in this world and he must learn how to control his powers. There, he meets a man from another world, who's being hunted for merely existing. Their fates become intertwined, but not in a way either of them would appreciate. Author's note (contains minor non-story related spoilers about the MC and setting) This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG elements sprinkled on top. The main character is not a spellsword, but a summoner/support mage hybrid. Since he wasn't ambushed by a random god, there's no cheat item/spell and he has to rely on his skills and wits to survive in a world full of monsters. The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.
