《The Noble Curse of Ookami [Previously Titled: CLOSER]》Flying Creatures

Sector 16 was full of dangerous possessed, my team and the others tried as far as we could to hold the line of defense and prevent the possessed from breaching in, while some of us attempted to destroy the attractors.

While dodging a thrown boulder from the east, I saw a gruesome sight of a warrior getting crushed under a massive wall. The hunters and the zombies are more powerful here than in the previous sectors.

"Look at that!" someone yelled behind us while pointing towards the west side of the formation. Found out, there was a flock of demon-type possessed flying in. Some of us were actually snatched by the demons, forced to tag along on a dangerous flight with their claws grasping tight on their bodies. Some fell immediately, while others tried to fight the creatures.

Among them, I saw familiar faces, still among them, I saw Kotetsu. He looked at us with guilt in his eyes, while swooping down with his mighty wings and a strong gust following it. He seems to be the strongest of all the demons around.

"I'm sorry for doing this," he lamented, then fought us full of anger with reasons still unknown. He slashed some of the warriors in a blind rage, while inexplicably avoided me and my team seemingly at all cost.

"Kotetsu! Open your eyes!! You're attacking your comrades!!" I tried to make him see what he actually had done, but he kept on attacking other warriors, until Kentaro had to actually clash his blade with him. "What is wrong with you?!"

He didn't answer, he looked away from his opponent's eyes, then reflected on Kentaro's attack, and hopped to another place, swapping his position with other demons. One of them had scorching red attributes, such as eye color, wings, and fire burning their own feet.

The demon proceeds to stomp the ground with their talons, fighting with me and my team, trying to protect others who were destroying the towers. "I see, you are the chosen one, aren't you?" one of them looked at me with her sharp eyes.

"How does it feel? To destroy others' life with just living? Was it good?!" this female demon tried to stab me with the sharp end of a broken street lamp, but I managed to dodge her.

...

Once again... this fleeting feeling of guilt haunts me on the battlefield. I couldn't focus on my mission. I keep dodging their attacks, without countering them. My concentration was broken, as my thoughts flew from the sight that I was looking at.

"Kyuuto!!" Yato snapped me out of my reverie, while protecting me from the female demon. "Keep your eyes on the target!"

Soon, I found myself not even fighting the demons, and separated from the others. Suddenly the fire in my soul weakened, and I was no longer motivated to continue the fight...

What's all of this worth?

I asked myself while staring blankly at the sky. I walked away from the battlefield, to just look at my friends' struggle with their fate. Grasping the control over the uncontrollable.

"HELP!!"

My sight came to focus once I heard a sudden shriek, and a huge demon flew away snatching an Ora. It was... Rin! I grasped my sword and slashed some of the demons in front of me, then tried to chase them. Kentaro and the others soon followed.

Yato, whose leg was still hurting mildly, tried to run, slower than the rest of us. Suddenly one of the demons saw him and attempted to snatch him like the others. Kanata yelled at him, while defending the rest of the team from incoming attacks, Yato struggled to keep the demon's talons from his shoulders.

Unexpectedly, Kotetsu came back and kept the demons away from him and our team. He swooped from a nearby roof and once again arrived with a strong gust to blow the enemies away. He even protected us with his wings and talons.

"Go! Save her!" he managed to prevent some of the demons from harassing us, "I'll take it from here!" despite being one of the enemies, he still had a warrior spirit in his soul. I hope he will get back to us soon.

----

We tried to chase Rin and her kidnapper to the inner part of the city. Just like the previous ventures, city central visibility was poor, smoke filled the city, and we felt a hint of loneliness and misery in our heart when entering the area.

Rin struggled with removing the grasp of the demon, while they kept going higher and higher. Me and my team followed them by climbing from rooftop to rooftops. At one point, we stopped at the highest standing rooftop that we could find. Exhausted from the pursuit.

Rin tried to free herself with her auric, which caused her to fall.
