《The Noble Curse of Ookami [Previously Titled: CLOSER]》A Storm is Coming

As crazy as it sounds, Ishigaki (or someone inside his soul)'s power actually helps a lot with much of the possessed, we were shocked as to how the fire actually worked. It burns the surroundings, but not us. It only burns darkness, I guess this fire is one of the light element's branches.
After doing some damage to the possessed around him, Ishigaki went unconscious. After wasting hours of back and forth to recover the bodies and Ishigaki, we finally end the mission. The last beacon was on Kentaro's bag, and we deployed it to seal the area. The attracting cellular tower mysteriously disappeared, destroyed by some kind of impact, we didn't realize when it happened and by whom.
This mission has the most recovered bodies so far. We went back to the school and rested, preparing for another day to confront the unknown.
Ishigaki faints until the night falls, we let him rest in his room, while the rest of us gather around the training ground talking about the day. We lit a small bonfire and circled around it, feeling the heat of a faint spirit in the darkest hour.
As I saw the embers, I recalled what happened to Ishigaki in the afternoon. He was changing, I wonder what's gonna happen next... Did he see something while he was unconscious?
One of Kentaro's men came up to me and shook my hand, "I haven't introduced myself yet, my name is Ishimaru. Nice to meet you, Kyuuto," we then traded smiles, and he sat beside his team leader.
We talked about our worries towards Ishigaki, while watching the flame slowly fade away. Kanata was silent the whole time, while Ishimaru remained vigilant watching the surroundings. One strange thing that night, Kotetsu didn't come to join.
"I saw one of your friends behind the school building," Ishimaru suddenly came and talked to me, "he was acting strange, like sick," he was talking about my missing member, Kotetsu.

At first I was skeptical, because Kotetsu usually sticks by my side. But remembering his action while in the city, he was also nowhere to be seen until the last second.
"Sick like what?" I ask him for details.
"He was coughing liquid, maybe blood. Then he talked to himself after that," Ishimaru elaborated further. He then expressed his worries that Kotetsu might become one of the possessed.
I was shocked, then I realized that all of my initial team members are either injured, or missing. I hope he's okay, maybe he's just sick.
----
The next morning, I paid a visit to Kazuki. He recovered well. Although he couldn't walk yet, he was ecstatic to join me in the next mission.
"I wonder how my brother will feel if he looks at me like this," he uttered while looking at the window.
"I'm sure he's gonna be okay," I tried to calm him, but in reality I didn't even know his brother at that point. Yato suddenly burst through the door, he told me that Kotetsu is missing, without saying farewell to Kazuki, we rushed out of the student health center and looked for him.
Kotetsu's room was a mess, and its windows were open when we checked it. We then progressed into the training field, he wasn't there either. A slight panic ensued, Yato and I continued to look for him, even after looking from the watchtower, he was nowhere to be found.
In the midst of searching for this wind-element swordsman, Ishimaru came up and told us that he changed, something strange from within him taken over.
"Stop talking in riddles! Just tell us where he is!" Yato raised his voice over Ishimaru's detail, he expressed the correct reaction, all he did up to this point was just giving clues with no concrete answer. He is one mysterious man.

Ishimaru sighed, then pulled his jacket's collar up to his mouth, "I think I've seen him going into the forest. He looked out of control, follow me,"
Ishimaru showed the way through the training forest, but deeper than that, we went through the darker part of the forest. Ishimaru led us to a clearing near the ocean...
Kotetsu was there, standing with a shrill howling wind blowing his hair, he held onto his chest, he seemed hurt by something. I tried to approach him slowly, he noticed us and turned around, his eyes were teary, and I could see sadness in his eyes.
"Don't come any closer," he whispered.

High School DEATH GAMES
"'Why,' a woman asked me, 'would they show a movie with things I do not want to see?' She is not unusual. Most people choose movies that provide exactly what they expect, and tell them things they already know. Others are more curious. We are put on this planet only once, and to limit ourselves to the familiar is a crime against our minds." - From the Great Roger Ebert Be forewarned, this story is not for everyone. It's not even for some people. This is for just a select few who get wet from misery and excited by suffering. This is no level up, power up, let's kill monsters, op mc, fantasy land, standard litrpg garbage you find in basically every other story on this site. If the rest of RoyalRoad is shounen (which it is), then this is Gantz/Berserk. Sorry. I lied. This is darker than Berserk and bloodier than Gantz. Not a manga fan? Then how about Korean cinema? Have you heard of Kim Ki-duk? His works The Isle, Moebius, and Pieta all come to mind. Again, this is not for normal people. There's a bunch of other normal stories for normal people to read. The whole rest of the site library is for normal. This is a special section set aside for a special type of story meant for a special kind of people. If you follow or favorite this, you're telling the whole world that you're a little different. A bit twisted. I guess you could call it the BDSM of reading. Which segues perfectly into the introduction. Are you kinky? Are you familiar with the taboo? Have you ever thought about the depths of human depravity? What I'm trying to ask is, do you like fucked up shit? Do you like massacres and public shamings? Do you like watching people fall into despair, going insane, or turning into psychopaths? Do you get turned on when love is destroyed and hedonism reigns king? Well, I've got the perfect story for you! If you're uncomfortable with profanity, gore, sexual and traumatising content, then I recommend you move on. I won't judge you just cause you're a pussy. And I'm not talking about the fake labels of the other candy ass stories on this site who think their shit is morbid or even remotely disturbing, I'm talking about the shocking, offensive, real fucked up shit that you can't even use incognito mode for and you gotta install Tor browser. (You don't actually need to install Tor, you idiot.) If you love that shit or even if you're just curious, then read on. I swear it's not as bad as you think it'll be. It's much worse. - Signed with no love, Marley (written by a friend in the voice of Marley) Unapologetic, cynical, pretentious, pessimistic, hypocritical, selfish, sarcastic, passive, apathetic asshole main character named Marley. Alternate POV: Badass, intelligent, proactive, loving, nice, friendly, optimistic co-main character Sophia. This is essentially a rough draft. Grammar and spelling has been read through and fixed for the most part. If you don't like something, tell me why you don't like it. Don't just rate it low anonymously. Thanks.
8 208Myth of The World's Trees
And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels. I was present now, at this moment, at this point in time. I could feel the electrifying air saturating my lungs, the electrified ground vibrating at the rhythm of the approaching enemy. Then I took a step forward, everyone followed in tandem. Camilla the first, and then the others. Then I took a second step, and this time everyone followed simultaneously. Third step… Fourth step… Fifth step… Then light jogging… Speeding up… Running … Running faster…. Then suddenly, everyone disappeared into motes of light particles that re-constructed itself hundreds of feet above the horde, dozens of miles away from our initial position. We were literally 'diving' into battle.-------------------------------------------------------------------Despite a rough childhood in the slums, Omari had everything a guy could want - a loving girlfriend, an understanding sister, a wonderful teacher, and his dream job. Weavers... this lot has been synonymous with freaks at best, and devil worshipers at worst, since they were first found. Thankfully, they make up a negligible number of people, but they can still be incredibly dangerous. Oftentimes, they wind up killing themselves or others when their ability to perform magic begins to manifest, acting as a sort of natural culling process for weavers. However, this was well before the Republic of Sidia realized that the ability to manipulate reality can be reigned in, controlled. So if you had the chance to turn something dangerous into a weapon, why wouldn't you? This is what fate awaits a young man named Emmet. After his weaving manifests and blood is on his hands, he is given a choice: the gallows, or the Esphell Monastery. What awaits Emmet at the monastery? What is this magic, and how can he control it? What happens to weaver's once they are properly trained? And most importantly, will he survive long enough to have these questions answered?
