《The Noble Curse of Ookami [Previously Titled: CLOSER]》The Hunted

"Ishigaki!!" Kazuki yells at the hunter when he gets close to them. Kazuki could throw his sword, but he wouldn't want to take the chance of losing it forever. We didn't have any projectiles back then. "Shit, the hunter is too fast,"
We chased them out of sector 24's coverage. I was worried if there's more dangerous enemies here. We were approaching sector 16. Different aura emanated from the sector, my vision suddenly turned darker, it felt like my soul was sucked out the moment we stepped on the area.
Ishigaki was struggling to free himself from the hunter's choke. Because he didn't have a zodiac sword, he didn't have any means to attack the hunter. He tried to punch the hunter with his Auric but with no success.
"We have to get back! There's no way we can get him!" Kotetsu warned us to stick to the mission, but the rest of us disagreed with him and continued chasing. Kotetsu looked worried from his expression, he was a really disciplined person, so he really wanted to follow the rules. But our teammate was at stake here, we had to save him.
I ran past Kotetsu, because he was slowing down. He slowed down to make sure no one followed us into this area, and honestly maybe he just didn't want to wander far away from sector 24.
The hunter who grabs Ishigaki finally releases him, and lets him fall into the ground, but before his body hits the concrete, he summons an aura to protect him from the impact, and lands somewhat safely, but still bruises his knee and elbow.
When Kazuki jumped past a building, he was suddenly hit by a possessed from the left, even probably a hunter with high speed. He fell and went through a glass building. I panicked and tried to follow him, but as I turned my head to the right, someone dashed towards me from my left, my incredible instinct went a little late there and got me hit by that person.

I smashed a wall to my right, my wound from the hunter's dagger was still hurting me when that happened. When I saw the attacker, I realized that he was the lost Jaeger-Yamato. He still uses his zodiac sword, only his left arm darkened by... the darkness.
"I was waiting for you to come," he said, while looking at his black arm, "This is the first time we met, I believe," he continued to stare at me sharply in the eyes, "You know, up to this point, I think you should end your adventure," the blade of Yamato's sword shone with sunlight reflecting on its steel.
I stood up, grasped my sword and was ready to fight. My stomach started to bleed again from the impact, but I held onto it. At this point, we were not ready for what's about to go down. Yamato seemed annoyed, and turned into a fighting stance.
Soon a fight broke out between us, Yamato's sword pierced the ground and spawned a giant trunk of tree towards me. I tried to avoid his attack by jumping onto the building behind me and tried to run upwards. He then stood on one of the tree's branches, and it rose up with him to my level.
When I arrived at the rooftop of said building, we started to duel. My ice element was weak against Yamato's wood element. Yamato used his dark arm to burst orbs of energy, just like the first possessed we saw when we touched down at Sector 35. I tried to deflect his projectiles, while dodging some more.
Yamato's speed was equal to that of Karito, he was very agile in jumping and dashing around. With his wood element, he was able to spawn wood spikes from his sword and launched them towards me. Some of them managed to graze my right cheek. As my cheek bled slightly, Yamato rushed forward to stab me.

I managed to dodge again, his speed was unbelievable, now I believe Yuukai's theory on him, that he is actually one of the ancient souls, one of the great ones. There's a point where I utilized my ice element to fight him, but my ice spikes keep breaking again and again. I soon realized that this fight was not balanced. I tried to bail, but I remember my teammates are in this area, and I don't want to just run.
What should I do?

All the while, there are whispers of a greater and more ancient power coming to life. A power Brenn’s wife knows more about than she wants to let on. It’s a good thing Brenn is used to fighting. CW: Contains mildly graphic scenes of violence/death, topics of unwanted pregnancy/abortion, scientific experimentation on sapient beings, depression/suicide, grief, and trauma. The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.

The Discarded
The Umbrae Lunae existed before man, beautiful abominations birthed in the nightmares of mad gods. They wait for humanity to misstep, for the angels to look away. For the moment when they can cloak the world in moon shadows once again. But even horrors have children. Even nightmares must feed. One child, unlike the others, finds his way to a school for young abominations. Will he be a sheep cast before the wolves, or a terror that wears the skin of wool to entice the wolf close? The flesh of his body was his only coin, strips cut to pay debts that never ended. Everyone has scars, stories in a life led, lessons learned, and licks taken. Luminous bodies touched by darkness. There are a cursed few that are the opposite, black shadows consumed by scars, twisted minds devoured by diseased hungers, bodies tortured misshapen works of gouged flesh, silver lines of blade thin cuts, ragged tears of teeth and glass. For them, the scars are marks of homecoming, the mangled wasteland the only place they feel at peace. Hell is a place. It's made of concrete, steel and glass. It's the sounds of starving kids crying themselves to sleep, huddling into small balls as creepers come and take their due of innocence and tender meat. It's eating rotten food and carrying ticks in your hair. It’s having no one and nothing while surrounded by everything. It's the life of a street kid. What abomination was birthed in the corrupt womb of man’s cast-off shit? Pretty people don't know the power of ugly. They can't see the strength in a broken soul or the power in a calloused heart. Those secrets are for the discarded alone. Only the broken understand the grace of darkness. The blessed folds that hide scars and tears, the protection of its concealing umbra. Isekai: A Tale of The Ordinary
A man, who died of being crushed by a wrecking ball, is happy he's finally about to embark on his own isekai journey. Though lady luck was not on his side, through an unfortunate string of events, he became the source of entertainment for a goddess. Though it may sound nice, "nice" is definitely the last word he'd use to describe what's about to happen to him. Isekai cults, the wrath of the gods, execution on day one, and a very mean dog, all of that is happening to him in order to appease the goddess that sent him to another world. — Hey all! Forgive me if there’s any grammatical error in this (English is not my first language). I made this story just to vent out my frustrations and spew out anything that’s in my brain. Criticisms are welcomed! Just don't be so mean about it.
