《The Noble Curse of Ookami [Previously Titled: CLOSER]》Snatching the Prey

After we got into the choppers, we quickly took into the air. The city's atmosphere was filled with black smoke from the destruction, filthy air obscure our view, as the pilot struggled to find a perfect place to drop us. At least the pilot of my chopper.
As my team and I were getting ready to drop onto the nearest rooftop, an explosion suddenly erupted from the other team. Their chopper had been hit by some kind of projectile from the ground. The Oras that were inside that chopper scrambled and tried to land on the rooftops, some succeeded, some failed and died.
"It's time to drop!!" the pilot shouted, I took a last glance into other Jaegers, they had different looks from before, they had the look of a warrior ready for battle. Then after encouraging myself, I jumped, followed by five other Jaegers.
I landed on some kind of a factory rooftop. It wasn't that bad, my fellow Jaegers also landed successfully. But I was horrified when I saw some Oras that failed to land earlier. One of them fell onto concrete that protrudes outward into some kind of spike, she was stabbed by its sharp end. I could see what might be her heart and other insides popped out.
From the distance, I saw some people that were possessed, seemed to be the ones causing the other chopper to fall. They had some kind of light on their hands, some kind of focused energy. Maybe that's their darkness. We never taught this in school, actually.
"Split up! Kuroyuki and I will go to the fallen chopper and see if anyone's survived! The others, clear this area!!" one Jaeger in my group, Kotetsu, assumed the command of the team. The rest of us then did what he requested.

"Let's finish those guys up," Kazuki, the most high-energy one, drew out his zodiac sword, and it lit up yellow, indicating light element, from the Fire-element sign, Sagittarius.
Once again the surge of adrenaline filled my blood, I could feel the power within me. I drew out my sword and charged forward with three remaining Jaegers, and tried to take out the possessed that caused our trouble earlier.
I can do this, I got this...
The possessed tried to blast me with their dark energy, thankfully I dodged successfully. I didn't know what the effects would be if I got hit, so I better be careful.
Then I stabbed the person, he groaned painfully. I could hear a cry coming from him, a human cry. Maybe he was in terrible pain, his body was controlled by this uncontrollable misery. I took out my sword from his gut, and let him fall down and fainted.
Surprisingly, all four of us got the target defeated. We couldn't rest just yet, we need an Ora immediately to seal up these people's bodies. But Kotetsu hasn't come back yet. I got a little worried about him and Kuroyuki.
Suddenly, the reinforcement of the possessed crawled up to the rooftop. These ones looked a bit different, they looked like zombies, and they were very agile. I tried to dodge them, but got scratched instead. Blood poured down from my left cheek.
---Shit!!
I dodged one of them that had a knife and tried to stab my face. I didn't know my instinct was that sharp, I felt moved by something, but I didn't know what that was. "Concentrate!!" Kazuki warned the Jaegers.
I put more power into my sword, and the blade began to glow a bright blue color. "TAKE THIS!!" ice sprouted from the edge of my blade, this was the first time ever my element came out. I successfully stabbed and slashed both of the possessed that attacked me earlier.

But when I turned my head to other Jaegers, I only saw Kazuki breathing heavily, and blood all over him. The two others failed to survive. As I thought the hoard of zombies was over, the second wave came and I had to defend the area together with him.
"Here we go again," said Kazuki, the light of his sword shone even brighter.
We then took a stance, facing the opposite directions. "We have to survive this, it would be silly if we failed on our first mission, right?" Kazuki smirked. "Let's clear this shit,"
My instinct got sharp again, as I charged towards the zombies in front of me, I used my ice to petrify some of them, and slashed the other as fast as I could. While dodging their rogue attacks. Their blood splat on my face, nasty smell filled my nose as their insides leaked, they fell and truly died.
After that, we took a deep breath, but still in steady positions.
"Hey!!" from across the rooftop, I saw Kotetsu waving at us, he seemed to carry an injured Ora. "Help me here!!" he yelled once more. Kazuki fetched him and the Ora to our side.
But Kuroyuki was not with him.

The Bettor's Oath [A Dark-Modern LITRPG]
We live in a world where the rabbit’s foot helped win the game. Following that logic, tell me, what happens when the odds are flipped against the strong and a god rises to give the weak their right for revenge?~Last segment of the First Monarch's speech before the Lablanca battle. Lothar Ardolf, an alcoholic 27 years old high school teacher, was one of the many men who failed to catch up to life. When everyone around him worked to leave a mark behind, he idled away between states of short sobriety and static numbness, hoping that one day everything would resolve itself. It took little to wake him up. Only a life, soul, and body changing experience.Thrust into a world of cheap power and tyrannical governments, where a man could rival what is true and alter what is false, he was tasked by an elusive being with befalling titans. He wakes up in a prison with a path laid in front of him; one that would challenge all the resolve he has and more. Intertwined in a convoluted scheme of politics and old grudges, he will need to learn how to wield his new powers in order to escape before the secrets of the prison threaten to unravel him. However, he shortly realizes that his new faded fantasy was not a fairy tale. All that awaits him in the end, for standing against the world, is death. That is, if the three sided coin lands on heads. If it lands on tails... The shadowbane army rises. ...... This story is a neo-noir dark LITRPG in a world similar to earth. Take the tags seriously. I've been working on this project for 6 months and my MC is a bit unconventional, so I'm excited to introduce you all to him. Beware, it will be a slow-burn, so please be patient. The main plot will start to kick up at around chapter 15. I will be writing about racists, rapists, cultists and horrible humans. I do not condone or excuse their behavior or choice of words but the first arc will be in a prison and (some) prisoners don't mince their words. My MC doesn't adapt to the new world immediately because that is not realistic at all. It takes time and because of his personality, it will take more than a system to convince him to do someone else's bidding ;) Each chapter will have around 3000+ (give or take) words. I will be updating 2-3 times a week (depending on how busy I am with work and/or college) when I'm done publishing my backlog (Which is very big, 40,000+ words). **Each comment gets rep! Cover art by @tahraart on Instagram. Link to discord: https://youtu.be/91wX0NRjJqg Have a good one, Pistol. **** THE STORY IS ON TEMPORARY HIATUS. WE WILL BE BACK IN 2 MONTHS. SORRY EVERYONE.

World Story: Biographies of Extraordinary People
Important note: I’d like to thank Dr. Buller for their advice on dialogue by their critical review. And I’m on a one-month break to post the first revised chapters on Scribble Hub. Please stay tuned! Even in faraway worlds, every folk had a story, and monsters came in numerous shapes and sizes. However, heroes never existed in this otherworld. Even the most idealistic understood this deep within. But as they abandoned their humanity at times, they quickly regained it. It was not that they became human again. They always were. So what happened when the monster devoid of humanity appeared? Well, the “heroes” sought to slay it at all costs either way, lest it would be the end of their stories. A portal/isekai fantasy that I wanted to deconstruct some elements within. Expect a whole ton of references and dialogue because I’ll deliberately write it more like a light novel. The last thing to consider is that Japanese names in my novel will come with kanji/hiragana characters within parentheses. The same goes for any other derived from non-Latin writing systems. It’s because none of the names I write will be accidental or random. They’ll all have meaning. New chapters Monday to Thursday at 11:00 PM (GMT+8), though sometimes I can’t. Credit for the cover art goes to HWPerfidy. She’s a freelance artist on this site, and I’d love anyone who shows her support.
