《Hello, Inside Monster》CHAPTER XXII: LIE DOWN. IT’S TIME FOR SHOW

“Do you think that you’ll survive if you ask God for help? Don’t be stupid. Nobody will help you, because nobody escapes from the claws of the devil and you fell right into my trap, you bitch!”

A man’s hand presses SolHi’s throat, while she’s lying on the floor of that abandoned warehouse. She can’t see his face, but she hears his voice so well and it makes her shudder with all her being because that voice is unique and that voice reminds her of the hell in which she lived since she was just a little girl and the devil that tormented her since then has a unique name too - “mother”.

“Why are you trying to kill me?” SolHi managed to ask the attacker through an avalanche of cough. “I did you nothing. I just want to survive.”

“To survive?! Well, that’s already too late.”

“Too late? Why?”

“Because you met that damn family and you must die with them,” and the man’s hand pressed her throat till the point she couldn’t breathe anymore, but her body was struggling with all its force with death itself, trying to turn fate upside down and to escape from Hell.

A cold-water boiler had been thrown over SolHi, making her come back into her senses. She’s tied to a chair, right in the middle of a big room that seems more to be an old warehouse, but still, there isn’t the same mold scent as in the one in which she had been kept 7 years ago, a sign that this place is frequently visited by somebody.

“Voices,” SolHi’s thoughts started to work, while around her a strange sound was heard as if she had been hit in her head and now, she was regaining force.

Then, the revelation came and SolHi remembered the moment she had been kidnaped right in the middle of the street, with a lot of policemen surrounding the place.

“Ehh, damn!” SolHi talked to herself in her head, trying not to reveal the fact that she’s awakened. “How the hell I allowed these idiots to trap me? Am I a newcomer or what? Now, you are on your own, SolHi. I doubt anybody will notice your absence and will come to your rescue.”

Someone’s presence in front of her nose is felt and his stinky breath forced SolHi to sneeze, but instead of a Korean normal talk, she heard a Chinese one. So, she opened her eyes wide and she stared at the idiot that was checking her pulse, but in fact, his eyes were fixed on her low-cut, even if there wasn’t too much to see because SolHi was known for the small size of her breast.

“What are you staring at?” she wheezed through her teeth, while her lips were moving into an unpleasant grin. The Chinese guy, a man about 35, smiled at her and he tried to touch her cheek, but SolHi forced her to move away from him, but the chair turned upside down and this made the others laugh.

“Lift her!” demanded the boss of the gang to the one next to SolHi, but again he used Chinese and SolHi couldn’t understand what he was talking about, but when she saw the big guy approaching her and grabbing her from clothes, she understood that it was an order to be lifted up.

“Ah, he's like a fly … buzzing all the time,” mumbled SolHi, when the big guy talked all the time, while was lifting her. “Shut your mouth, idiot!” she yelled at him, taking him by surprise. “You are sounding like a broken musical record. Fix your brain, once!” but a slap on her head made her even angrier than before.

The gang “boss” approached SolHi, but he stopped a few steps from her when she showed him her teeth, a sign that she can bite. “Do you know how to dance, mam?” the Chinese asked her in his language, but instead of an answer she raised her middle finger, but what a shame … the guy couldn’t see it, because her hands were tied at her back. “I asked if you know how to dance,” he insisted.

SolHi instead bowed her head and sighed. Then, she stared at him. “Yeah, do you think I’m Einstein or something? Maybe I'm smart, but I can't speak your language, idiot. The only words I know are “fuck you,” and “go to hell”. Should I tell them in Chinese too?”

The guy, forcing himself to listen to what she was mumbling, approached her more, but he was rewarded with a head in his nose that started right away to bleed. “Now I guess we can understand each other,” SolHi said this time loudly, but a kick in her stomach turned her upside down again because the one hit by her hit her now too.

“Eh, damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Why do I always receive all the blows? Do I look like a punching bag or what, you, idiots? Just release me and I’ll show you what I can do to you.”

As if they understood what she was saying, SolHi had been released and forced to stay in front of the guy she hit with her head. His nose was still bleeding and he was cleaning the blood with the sleeve of his coat all the time.

“Ah, what a mess!”

“Yeah, madam, now you pissed me off!” the guy talked to her in Korean.

“Wow, you know Korean! What a surprise!”

“Yeah, and I also know how to fight like one. Should I show you?”

“Go ahead! I’ll stay right here and watch how you…,” but instead of sitting down on the chair she grabbed the back of it and she threw it toward the guy. She knew that she had no chance against them all, but still, she didn’t want to give up with no fight.

A hit in her back made her kneel, but she managed to avoid the second one and her leg hit her attacker between his legs, right when he was trying to grab her from hair and to drag her toward a barrel with water.

In that barrel instead, another guy fell after being thrown by DooSan over the shoulder, when they entered the place they saw that SolHi was attacked, but they preferred to make their entrance quick and clean.

“It seems that all the fun is already finished,” Kan tried to joke, but seeing SolHi’s unhappy face staring at him he looked elsewhere.

Yoon Suk grinned at DooSan when this one made him a sign to approach and to help SolHi. “No, thanks. For me, it's ok to watch everything from here, but a kick in his ass pushed him right in the middle of the fight and he had no choice but to try to survive.

The Chinese guys are taken away by the police, who came to help DooSan and the others, who were coming after them and they all looked like if the Hurricane met them right in the middle of the street and their hair and clothes had been quickly “arranged”.

Watching Kan, who was touching his back, still feeling the pain after being thrown to the ground in the battle, and who looked like a washed chicken, Yoon Suk started to laugh.

“What?” Kan mumbled, watching his young partner. “Does it look funny to you?”

“Absolutely. Because we all look like if we just exited the cage of lions after a sweet hug with them,” but a slap over the back of his head, made him turn his head and stare at SolHi who was the one who slapped him.

“What?” she asked him by a glance.

Yoon Suk instead grinned unpleasantly and mumbled a “help the devil and he will eat you.”

“Actually, I heard you!”

“And I never wanted to hide this.”

“Yeah, Yoon Suk, do you want to put back your broken bones in the fight?! You know that I can do this quick and clean,” SolHi insisted, but even if her remark was just a joke, Yoon Suk hid after Kan. “Chicken!” “Ya, Han DooSan, do you want to…,” but she was so amazed to see how DooSan’s eyes suddenly became bigger and as if moved by the devil and yelling at all four winds, he started to run. “What’s wrong with him? Don’t tell me that … Yah, Han DooSan, that’s not funny. If you want to use the toilet, you shouldn’t show it to everyone.” Then SolHi watched Kan and Yoon Suk. “For sure it’s the big “problem”.

“I think there are both,” Kan mumbled and SolHi looked again toward DooSan, who was moaning next to his car that was totally vandalized - 3 wheels were missing, the headlights and the windows broken, the doors were hanging, as were the rear mirrors.

„Oh, boy!” SolHi whispered. „I think he will kill me after that.”

„He's the only guilty one,” Kan said this with a sure voice. „I told him not to take the new car in the Chinese neighborhood, but he never listens to anybody.”

Yoon Suk scratched the back of his head, still watching the remaining wheel. “At least one is left.”

“Yeah. He can climb on it and fly away. Like the modern witch,” and Kan moved in front, with his hands at his back and whistling Past the graveyard. This attitude of Kan made SolHi and Yoon Suk interchange glances. “He definitely kills us,” mumbled Yoon Suk, when he noticed DooSan trying carefully to straighten one of the mirrors, but it had been worse because the car fell with deafening noise to the ground … the remaining wheel started to run down the street, while the glances of the viewers spent it on its way.

“My car,” mumbled DooSan, still with the broken mirror in his hand, while with the other hand was pointing toward the moving wheel.

Kan slowly turned toward Yoon Suk, who was watching the scene with his mouth open and slowly said. “Yoon Suk, help the man!”

“With what?” Yoon Suk mumbled, without taking his gaze from the wheel.

“Catch that wheel!” Kan demanded him, making Yoon Suk blink quickly from his eyelashes.

“Why?” Yoon Suk asked innocently. “He can’t use it anyway. Three are missing.”

“Just let it be there. For memory!” and this made Yoon Suk slap his forehead and nod in reproach.

Still overwhelmed with the situation, SolHi looked around as if looking for something. Then she finally found… a bolt … she took it from below and, approaching DooSan, she gave it to him.

Taking the bolt from SolHi’s hand, DooSan mumbled. “Thank you!”

“Be healthy!” SolHi’s answer came after and, turning her back to him, she decided to go, but she stopped in place and looked at him amazed when she heard him saying “Amin!” while with one hand he was making a large cross and in the other he was still holding the mirror, that was detached now from the body’s car, that fell with noise.

NEXT MORNING. IN FRONT OF THE PROSECUTION.

Exiting the cab, DooSan meets face to face with SolHi, who was returning to the prosecution after doing some shopping.

“Morning, prosecutor Han! How did you sleep?” SolHi started to tease him, despite the fact that DooSan wanted to get rid of her and of her mockery. “Prosecutor Han? Hello! Are you here?” SolHi stopped in front of him, making him sign with her hand.

“What? What now?” DooSan mumbled in the end, showing her all his discontent.

“Nothing special. I was just trying to find out how you spent the night.”

“I’m fine. Ok?! I’m fine. So, leave me alone!”

DooSan tried to pass next to her, but SolHi took a step aside and stretched her hand toward him with her fist closed. “What now, SolHi?”

“I have a gift for you.”

“A gift? What gift?” DooSan asked her, after taking a deep breath.

“Open that fist and you will see it.”

Not very eager to do what she was saying, but still knowing that if he doesn't do it then she won’t leave him alone, DooSan opened her fist and he saw in her palm … another bolt.

“I found one more on the road. I thought it would be useful … for repairing that car,” she said while fighting with her laughter.

DooSan was about to explode, but understanding where they were he decided to give up and, taking back his bag that he left on the ground to open her fist, he passed her.

But SolHi didn’t want to give up that easily, so she followed him. “So, what did the mechanic say? Can he repair that car?”

“Not really!”

“Why not?” SolHi asked innocently. “I thought that you loved that car till madness. You even made a cross for it.”

“Yah!”

“Wow, that suddenly! Hu … you will kill me one day.”

“Ian SolHi!” DooSan told her, making her stop in place, amazed to see that he was staring at her, ready for a fight. “Did you decide to say goodbye to this world?”

“No. Not yet. Why?”

“Because if you say one more word about that crashed car … because of you … I swear…”

“Why because of me? I did nothing…”

“Just keep your tongue behind your teeth,” DooSan yelled like a mad person. “I’m that furious that my poor car suffered when I wanted to help a… so, don’t provoke me … you…”

DooSan suddenly turned his back to her and he entered the prosecution building. SolHi instead, happy with her success, took off her bag an Ice cream and she started to eat it. “I told him that I’ll return all the favors he did to me, but he never listens” and, slowly laughing, SolHi entered the building too.

DOOSAN’S OFFICE.

Entering his office, DooSan stared at the others, who were trying to look like usual, but all of them were fighting with their laughter too.

“Not a word … if one of you says a word about what happened last night, I swear I’ll kick you all from that office.”

“Why? Did somebody say something about it?” Yoon Suk asked, but he received an elbow in his stomach from Kan.

“Yeah! I was the one who talked to him about yesterday's events,” SolHi said while entering the office and approaching her desk, followed by DooSan’s killing glance. The others stared at her and at DooSan, repeatedly, waiting for something special to come. “What? Nothing special happened. I just … returned him another bolt. That’s all.”

Kan slapped his forehead, mumbling: “That was all that was missing. The bolt! Ya, Ian SolHi, if you wanted to help him, you should have found the rest of the vehicle, not only a bolt.”

“I tried, but … the Chinese guys aren’t that talkative. They said that if I want to find that car I must turn back time. Or, maybe I should do that? Ha, what did you say, prosecutor? Should I turn back time…”

“Just … shut your mouth, ok?” DooSan wheezed through his teeth.

“Why?”

“SolHi, don’t …” Yu tried to end the argument, but that argument was just starting.

DooSan instead threw the bolt in the middle of the office and sat down at his desk, pushing and throwing everything around.

“And still you kept it. That bolt … was it that important to you? Should I…”

“SolHi! Ian SolHi!” DooSan yelled, standing up. “Tell me, do you want to see my face all day long?”

“Thanks, but no!”

“Then, keep silent and sit down! Now!”

“Ok,” and SolHi sat down, but she still was laughing slowly.

“Ya, Ian SolHi!” Kan looked at her. “Do you believe in karma?”

“No! Why?”

“Because it is something that works like a boomerang. First was the Prosecutor's car, later will be yours.”

“Mine? Why? Aaa, you are talking about what happened to prosecutor San DuSik’s car. Don’t worry! I took care of it.”

“Really? And how exactly?” Kan insisted.

“I sold it. Well, not for nothing, but I was afraid not to remain only with a bolt like the others,” and the group started to laugh again, despite DooSan’s unhappy face.
