For the last hour I've been having fun experimenting, and training, training in making cool one liners. A good one liner is needed to bring fear into the mases, if you're a tyrant. people don't understand that being cool makes your enemies fear you more, and makes the mases respect and admire you if you're not a tyrant. Thus I played around with the lives of the weak, exploiting the environment; its human tradition.
If you looked at me now, I think it would be pretty weird. I was I cutting of the legs of a dintyle while it was alive and unsedated, my ring was full of corpses currently: I wasn't doing to many torture-ish things... yet. Going back to the dintyle yelping in pain infront of me, I was going to keep it like this in the cave, I'll find a use for it later. I'm defenitly not doing it to abuse their kind for my own enyowment and therapy, or my primal need to make the most out of any situation.
I draged the dintyle towards the cave, leaving a trail of blood in my wake that would slowly be cleaned by the dungeon. It took some time to get back to the hideout, Hemdal was in the cave, confused about something. When I came in the monster had an adverse while Hemdal didn't even care about the dyntile I was carrying, he was focused in his own thing, he just looked at me and nodded. I nodded back and went back into my thing, he looked immersed and I wouldn't want to hinder his enlightenment, cause bla bla bla, I just don't care, okay.
I looked around the hideout, it was bigger than last time, there where a couple empty rooms, I put the living specimen into one of the rooms and sat down in another empty room. I started skinning the corpses in my ring, it wasn't hard and I just did the same as always.
Until... I chose to butcher one or two of them, and nothing else changed exept that the skill leveled up. The monster looked inside of my room and the one the beast was hidden inside of, I didn't really pay any attention to it though. I don't care about the monsters feelings anyways.

I had a filling of hide in my ring, and some dintyle flesh. I was getting hungry, and I didn't want to eat the shit food from the house, it tastes like garbage, and I would know. The only fucking reason people would eat it is that its really efficient with its size to nutrition ratio, and that's only for the poor people. The only reason I asked for it was that I was planning on using it to lure beasts, I really overestimated then, I can kill them with reletive ease thus I don't need petty tricks to mentain my stamina. I was really disapointed that I didn't need to trick the beasts, I always thought it was fun to scam idiots on earth, within an certain level, I didn't want beef with the police.
I took some sticks and dropped it in a small hole, got Erebus to set it alight. I took out a leg of dintyle and held it over the fire, I was careful not to burn myself, making sure the food didn't taste like vomit was my second concern. It took some time to make it, I ate it. and not to be bragging, it was pretty good for this world's standards, which was if it didn't have a chance to kill you it was a luxury good only for the rich with taste being chance based for most chefs.
Thus I made some more, it wasn't at the level of anything skill related in my non humble opinion though. I had not many things to do while cooking and eating, and all I did was eat and think. I looked at my skills, I haven't done much with the 'mana weaver' skill lately, there's nothing intresting to do with it anyways. If I could just get some kind of gate that opens and closes on certain conditions, like logic gates in programming. Just like anything that could stop mana flow in certain conditions, having a light that goes in one direction everytime it's on and can't go in any other direction is almost worthless.
I know I'll get something to do with that and combat related subjects if I level the skill up, but there isn't anything that I can do that I see as worthwhile with the skill. It was annoying, I know it'll be worthwhile in time but that's just a hunch that isn't a certain, I can pray to my luck stat, but luck is luck, it's uncertain. Do I really want to take a chance? Well, I will have another chance at life anyways, but I can't be certain that'll happen. Why are these discisions so difficult, this should be an easy desicion, I'm going to have another chance anyways so why not take a chance?
It would be so nice to be an impulsive idiot at a time like this, it's easy to make the decision, but why can't I make it? Yes or no, just choose! But I can't be certain, who knows, it could be a complete waste of time. The world is full of uncertainties, just make a choice! but the choice I make could be terrible. just make one, this isn't going to be the first time we make a bad desicion. But, but, but- Fine I'll chose one.

Thus I chose to go back to focusing on the skill, argueing with my self makes me make decisions far quicker than normal. I stood up with a new thing to do.
I walked around with a pep in my step, I saw Hemdal again and frowned. I groaned in annoyance, I still had some stuff to tell this loser and some unimportant questions too. This was going to be annoying, I called for the child "Get over here, now."
Hemdal came over to me, he asked in an annoyed tone "What is it?"
I tried to act wise, it didn't work well with my 5 year old body "I have chosen in my great benevolence to share some of my limitless wisdom." But then went back to normal from "But really, I remembered that I needed to tell you some of my plans."
"Ohhh, that's why." He understood and sat down in a no longer annoyed state.
"Yes small boy." I then sat down with him "So in a nutshell, I want to make drugs and sell them in the black market then become the richest person in the world."
Hemdal was shocked at my genius "Wha-" But then regained his composure "Could you go a bit more in detail?" or he was confused after all.
I abliged at his unreasonable request after giving a bit of shame "Okay, but at least apreciate how hard it was to condense all this into a single phrase." I coughed to clear my throat "What I want to do is: 1 make three orginizations, one is a legal operation selling non-classified creations, another one is an illegal operation selling unclassified creations and slightly classified addicting and illicit substances, the last one is an organization that will make loyal mages with orphans, oaths and maybe some emotional manipulation or something." Then I had new idea, based on the chance another one of my kind could appear "And let's make another one, this one we will make a secret but still leave clues. It will be used to recruit talented individuals that can pick up the pieces we left for them, and can be used as a cover for our real group. So that when a hero or a powerful person with a heart bursting with justice finds out our evil deeds, they will think the fake secret group is the enemy. If we send out some moderately strong people out to fight them and make the last one to die say "I won't let *Insert name here* be destroyed like this.", making the powerful person with a heart bursting with justice think the problem is solved letting us just make a new one without any risk to ourselves."
Hemdal nodded in thought, after he processed what I said he said "It'll work, but its a bit ambitious. But why do you want to make the fourth one? There will be a hero coming, but how did you predict it?"
I was getting annoyed he knew things that he shouldn't know "No, how do you know? how about you tell me right now."
Hemdal seemed apprehensive "Are you sure?"
"Yes, of course I am, why else would I ask?" I was getting irritated.
He didn't wish to say it, but the oath would kill him if he refused to say. He made the right choice and told me obediently "I sort of come from the future, like I died and came back to the past. The hero was summoned for some reason I didn't know about, you were close to taking the throne, and the drake house would fall five years from now but I don't know why."
"Oh." I said "That really gives me some existencial dread, but I don't regret asking for it at all." I had many questions for him now, I wasn't scared that he lied to me, if he did he would be dead "So, how did the house do in the future?"
He again said ofhandedly "Oh, it collapsed after the emperor and the other houses, it'll happen in like five years."
That's bad, so many of my potential plans would collapse if that happened. Luckily I found out about the other great house's plans, I wasn't really mad, humans always strive for more power and greater heights. But it was very annoying, this was going to be a problem. I again groaned in annoyance, he was going to talk again but I stopped him. He was shocked I would do this, but as an explination I pointed at the monster that just started to eavesdrop on our conversation. He looked understanding and nodded in enlightenment.
I then left after kicking the monster for trying to eavesdrop "That's what you get for eavesdroping on me!" And to make sure my plans remained secret "Also, don't tell anyone my plans unless I tell you to do it."
then left without looking back, into a chamber, I didn't forget about grinding a certain skill.
I went inside of a room and sat down and did some grinding.

The friends found themselves home in the real world, exactly as they'd been the night they were taken, as if no time had passed... except only three came back. Hi there! This was my entry for National Novel Writing Month, because why only write one series at a time? The more the merrier! (meanwhile, my keyboard bursts into flames...) I'm also the writer of The Last Science, an ongoing low-fantasy/speculative sci-fi series. If you're familiar with that, you know what to expect here: lots of character-focused drama and dialogue, not a whole lot of traditional action. However, I'm writing a bit differently than usual here, and in a very different structure, so there should be some surprises for returning readers. I hope you enjoy it! [Discord] — for those of you who want to hang out and chat. Cover art (fullsize): Path of Revelation, by taenaron (Tobias Roetsch), modified by Etzoli. Normally I like to do my own cover art from scratch, but I was in a rush for the contest. Might be replaced down the line if I get time. Jack of All Trades, Master of All
Jack was reincarnated, again. This time, the omnipotent sphere had finally revealed to him that this new world was, in fact, the real one, and his soul had just returned to his body after two years of coma. During that span, the Earth or the magical world No.146, where he was The Grand Sage, was just a simulation experience. Jack inherited the System of Knowledge from his former self in the previous world. But gradually, he realized there were other Returners, holding other powerful Systems that they themself were also granted. The reason? The Omnipotent Sphere refused to give an answer. With the ever-burning desire to find his former friends and companions at World No.146 after their souls too were returned to this world, Jack began his journey. Ahead of him, five hundred years old as he technically was, there might be some surprises he still wasn’t prepared for. This is an original translated work. I’ve always wanted to challenge my writing skill and post on Royalroad a few times, but, as it turned out, I realized my own English capability still limited me. Therefore, I am currently working with a team of three, hence the name Triopals, consisting of me, the author, a translator, and an investor who really put his faith in this project. My translator and I will work together to deliver four chapters each week. Depending on the translating, editing, re-reading, checking, and re-reading-again process, the chapters will be uploaded each day or all at once. Careful as we may be, there can still be some errors at our best, so we welcome grammatical corrections, etc. We are very appreciative of your support.
