Then another screen popped up
Due to making a great achievement you have gained the title 'Talented'
Talented
Increase exp gain by 1% for every tallented skill
'That's an overpowered title, where do I even find these? Is there something like a seperate screen?' But then another screen popped up, One that I was actually expecting
You have created a 'high quality common dagger' do you wish to name it?
yes/no
'Yes'
Please choose what kind
Individual/Model
'Model'
Please enter name
'Nihilum mark 1'
Name registered
Do you wish to look at your creation's spread sheet?
'Yes'
And a giant screen with a 3d image of the dagger I made with a lot of numbers, It overwelmed me. I chose to look at it later. But I was shocked for a bit that the barely acceptable dagger I made was a high quallity common dagger, far better than I thought I would make.
The quallity of a weapon could be seen in the framework in different ranks and sub ranks
The subranks known are
- low
- mid
- high
The ones not known are
- garbage
- peak
- pinnicle
They sound a lot like xianxia ranks, and they kinda are. Someone from the cultivator continent reincarnated into icarus, he was a master blacksmith on the cultivator continent. and chose to set his sub ranks into icarus's blacksmithing industry
The known ranks are
- common
- apprentice
- journeyman
- adept
The one not known is
- master
There are still the transcendent ranks, but I apparently don't have the information authority necessary for that. I just know that they exist
I was done with what I was here to do here, so I went towards Osgar. He was talking to that Brett guy.
When I came close I said "Osgar! I'm done, lets go!" After Hearing that Osgar started saying stuff to Brett that I didn't listen to. After that Osgar walked over and followed me.
When we got out of the workshop Osgar said "I hate talking to people like Brett, they're sleasy and annoying to deal with."

Reacting to his whining I told him "If you can whine, then hold this." And I gave Osgar the Nihilum mark 1.
Osgar made a pleasantly surprised face and said "You made this? What's it called?"
I said and said "Yes I did make this." like explaining things toward a toddler "And it is called the Nihilum mark 1."
Osgar asked "Why did you call it that?"
I sneered in my mind 'It's latin dumbass.' (Look it up) But told him "It's from a different language"
Osgar reacted with an "Oh."
I then asked him "How is the devil's dust going?"
Osgar said "I've been able to buy about 20 kg (Kilo grams)."
I told him "Send 2 kg to the smithy, In the blueprints there is something that needs it, and it says we'll send it in at least 5 days." And Osgar nodded, Then I asked "Is it possible for me to make a forge and carpenter's bench in my room."
And Osgar laughed and said "Of course you can! Your room has far more room than needed for it, and the cash needed for it is just a day of your pocket money."
I look at him for a moment and said "I have pocket money?"
Osgar looked at me with a shocked expression "You didn't know?"
I said "No one told me I had pocket money!"
Osgar said "Well you do." and I nodded "Now If you want a forge it will be easy to have it happen, It will just take 3 days of construction to make and a lot of noise while it's made."
I nodded and said "Do it when I'm in the dungeon for more than 3 days consecutively." and Osgar nodded, After that I said "bye!" and waved because I saw my room, gesturing to give me the dagger back.
Osgar then gave me the Nihilum mark 1, waved and walked away.
After everything was done I just sat on my bed and had thoughts 'Why do I even think that I will revive?' After some thought I got the answer 'All that's been happening to me is so crazy that I just accepted it quickly, If this is real than that readacted fellow could kill me with extreme ease so I was just going to try and adapt to this world.'
I looked outside and it seem to be about 5pm, still a good bit of time to go till I go to sleep. I chose to go to my father and show him the Nihilum mark 1.
I just walked towards Duke's office knocked on the door, and like last time I heard duke say "Come in."
Advertisement
I opened the door and Duke said "what are you here for today?"
I said "I'm here to show you this" I handed him the Nihilim mark 1
Duke asked me "What is this?"
"The dagger I made." I told him
Duke then asked "Why did you show this to me? You are usually more antisocial."
I said "Got bored, and need something to do till I go to sleep."
Duke Told then told me "Then why don't you help me with brainstorming this problem I'm having right now, Merchants are leaving the duchy for the frontiers. Any ideas?"
"The basics to get more merchants." 'Which I assume are entrepreneurs' "Is to lower taxes for businesses, lower minimum wage and to make it easier to enter the market, so less licenses and more free market." It's just the basics, obviously people will try to get as much as possible.
Duke said "I don't control that, the merchant guild does."
I told him "And why does the merchant guild get that privelage? Who gave it?"
Duke looked like he understood something and said "No one, they are just accepted because their founder was a powerful man. but no one in the merchant's guild has power even close to our house right now." Duke laughed and said "How did you think of that son?"
I gave him a simplified answer "I haven't learned all the history and the fear and pride that comes with it."
Duke said "Weird answer, Please leave I want to figure out if what you are saying will work."
"Goodbye." I waved and left, Thinking about what to do with my free time 'Mana weaver? No, Golaith style? no, Drake training? Yes that will work.' Choosing to grind Drake training.
I walked towards my room, when I found it I entered. Still impressed by the size of the room, It was bigger than a malmart. I got the gate open and called for Erebus {Erebus! Get over here!} I couldn't see were Erebus was, but I was sure he was in the pen. I saw Erebus walk out of a shadow. After I saw him I told him {Time to grind a mastery, which one do you want to grind?}
Erebus perked up and said [Strategy or faint!]
{Which one?}
[I don't know.]
{Oh, well both of them are good but in different ways. I made you get strategy mastery to increase your intellegence. but faint actually has use in a battle, like when a target notices your attack while your assasinating them it will still be hard to block the attack, But it is really hard to train without a battle partner. And both won't work well so if you have something you want to learn, I can try to teach you. I'll give you a minute to decide.}
Erebus walked back into the shadows again after hearing my words, when Erebus came back out of the shadows he said [Can you teach me how to use mana?]
{I can try to teach you. Best to try it on one of bob's followers, you know as a guinea pig.}
Bob was playing with his possie around the middle of the pen, I think it was something like mock wars. I told Bob {Bob, send one of your followers over here.} After hearing that Bob stopped the mock wars, and sent one of the dintyles towards me.
While the dintyle just stood there I was thinking how to try this 'Maybe I should try something like put my mana into it and tell it to do the same with its mana.' I chose to put my mana inside it and make it feel its own mana. the first problem was putting the mana inside, is what I thought but it was extremely easy to put it in. the second problem was finding the dintyle's mana, is was too small for me to sense, I think it has 1 Int. Also when I asked Bob to ask the dintyle to try to replicate the feeling of my mana with his own, the dintyle was apperantly not even able to feel the mana!. My guess is that it's INT is so small that it can't feel mana and needs a skill to even have a chance to use it. I let the dintyle go back to Bob.
I looked at Erebus and told him {The dintyle is to stupid to even feel mana, and has to little mana for me to be able to find it. Still want to try it?}
Erebus nodded his head, I sighed and told him {First let's see if you can feel my mana. Come closer, around there.} I pointed inside the room, and Erebus just walked there.
When we were inside the room I put my hand on his shoulder and put in him 5 mana, the minimum amount I could use for one thing currently. And asked Erebus {Can you feel it?}
Erebus told me [Sort of? I feel something by my shoulder, the feeling is nothing solid. But I feel like there is something that was not there before.]
I smiled genuinely for the first time in a while, and told Erebus {If there is even the slightest feeling, it shows that you are able to do something with mana even if it takes a year to do so.}

CW: Contains mildly graphic scenes of violence/death, topics of unwanted pregnancy/abortion, scientific experimentation on sapient beings, depression/suicide, grief, and trauma. The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.

Iron and Wood - A Tale Of Empire and Clans
For centuries, the Midlands had been split into fragments. A once glorious, united Empire has become a shadow of its former self. Unity has not returned, and not for the lack of trying. The greatest of these successor states were the Li Dynasty to the south, the rulers of old, and the Emerald Empire to the North, with its vibrant vitality. Unity is the end goal, and both will sacrifice anything to attain this elusive dream. For unity would surely solve the conflict that had long plagued this once prosperous continent. The Ironwood Clan was a prime player. Some would consider them the ones holding the reigns to the horse named 'Unification'. Iron and wood were the backbones of civilization; similarly, the Ironwoods were the backbones of the Northern Empire, and by extension, the people of the Midlands. Their methods, as questionable as they might be, had strengthened the North. Yet, were they enough? In the midst of it all, a young Ironwood who had lost his path must once again find his way. For the sake of his own wellbeing; for the sake of his clan; and for the sake of the Empire and its subjects. However, is he willing to sacrifice for the good of all? Is he willing to condemn some for the sake of others? Is he willing to make the right, albeit harsh, decisions? Only the heavens would know. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, events and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. Additionally, any views and beliefs expressed by the characters are not the author's own. The story is also not an endorsement of any actions taken within. The 'profanity' and 'sexual content' warning tags are there to be safe (and to leave room for potential future changes), but for now these two things are not inside this novel. This is my take on 'cultivation', though it might be somewhat disconnected from the general idea of the genre. Release schedule: Two chapters a week. The cover was created using wombo art. While I believe that creations using the app are in the public domain, if that is not the case, I will take it down.
