RB Chapter 150 Her Dream
Humans, like all the animals have a sixth sense, but due to evolutionary needs, it has been abandoned in many. Some, mostly women might still have it.
Eric and Chloe...from the moment that they had awakened the ability to control electromagnetic waves, had that sixth sense amplified. Ambushes and signs of hostility would be detected in an instant.
It couldn't be turned off on a whim. The sense was omnipresent.
'Curiosity...how come I didn't sense any killing intent?' Eric wondered while trudging on.
'Those two are weird. I should stalk them a bit longer to see if they are still concealing any more surprises.' The cat jumped to another branch. It had decided to be directly above them, so that it didn't lose them from its sights. It felt that if it looked away for even a second, they might vanish from its gaze.
A few minutes passed just like that.
'Why isn't it attacking? Could it be that its cautious? I am sure I haven't exposed anything...even Chloe hasn't. Could it be that it be instincts?' Eric became puzzled the more he thought about it.
'Its still too far. If I attack, even at my fastest speed, I might fail at landing a hit. If it retreats, finding it again will be troublesome.' A sigh involuntarily escaped from his lips.
"I feel as if something is peeking at me from above." Leah was directing a fearful gaze above. Even though the mist was still heavy, she felt as if something was staring at her causing chills down her spine.
"I have also felt it multiple times. I was even hoping for it to attack...tsk! It looks like its cowardly." Elena chimed in with a shake of her head. She was dissapointed.

Chloe turned her gaze towards Eric as if seeking confirmation about something.
"Yes, there is a creature, I believe it to be feline, above us." Eric provided more information.
"I was hoping to keep up the vigilance and see whether it would act, but it hasn't. I believe it to be the target of our mission." He continued.
"Then, why don't we attack it? I don't like the gloominess of this place. Has anyone else noticed that the ground is getting wetter the deeper we are heading?" Leah asked.
"I would also like to attack, but, its too cautious. Its at a distance where it can evade my attack no matter how fast I move. If it was a bit brighter, I could create an illusion, distracting it for a second." Eric said.
He and Chloe didn't know that the creature was cautious because they had masked their odor. They were still immature in the experience with the spectrum level.
-----
Embers rose into the night sky as a piece of dry wood was stirred. The light from the flames pushed away the darkness of the night.
"I want to sleep. Being in a tense state a day has taken a toll on my body." Leah complained as she leaned into Elena.
The creature had followed them all throughout the day. If it hadn't been Chloe and Eric calming the two girls down, they would have abandoned the mission already.
"You should rest." Eric suggested. He was leaning on a rock, with his eyes closed. He wasn't resting, on the contrary, all of his energy was focussed on the creature, which he was monitoring through his spectrum vision which mere eyelids couldn't stop.
A tapping sound was also adding to the cacophony of sounds emitted by the little critters of the night. Chloe was tapping the ground with one of the dry sticks they had collected earlier on for the fire.

Eric knew that her patience had reached its limits. She was just a thin line away from exploding, but was holding herself in. Leah and Elena didn't dare talk to her as she had been in an irritable state since evening.
They had abandoned their inhibitions a long time ago. Since the beast hadn't been keen on attacking, what was the point of being cautious and concealing yourself...so they had decided to simply act normal.
"Leah, you said something about exploring the stars. Are you really going to do that if you ever get the means?" Eric decided to converse so that he wouldn't be bored. He was also hoping to pull Chloe into the conversation.
"Yes. The universe is almost infinite. Why would I want to simply stay on a single planet...a single solar system...a single galaxy?" Leah, whose eyelids had been heavy and about to fall, covering up her eyes, asked excitedly.
"What do you hope to find?" Eric asked. His interest piqued.
"Many things! New races, great sceneries...and many other things previously unknown."
As he listened, he subconsciously channeled more energy into his spectrum eyes causing his perception of electromagnetic waves to surpass that which was capable of being calculated by his brain. The consequence of that was that he developed a minor headache and lines appeared on his forehead but he didn't groan.
'Space...will I also be able to explore it someday?' He wondered.
"I do believe that with how fast we are evolving, we will probably be able to step into space with just our bodies in a few years." Leah continued, her eyes glazed over.
"I don't believe it." Chloe chimed in with a refusal.
"Did the humans, before this era believe that they would one day wield the power of animal genes?" Leah countered back. Her eyes were bright, her gaze scorching.
"Chloe, you like fighting, right? Wouldn't you want to one day fight aliens? Let's face it...spectrum warriors like you and Eric have appeared. How long do you think it will be before a higher level is discovered?
Ultimately, our evolution will reach the point where a limit of terrestrial lifeforms will appear. Then, what will be the next step?" She asked.
Her words caused everyone to ruminate over them with seriousness.
At around 8:23pm, snores were heard coming from the two girls leaving against each other.
Eric opened his eyes to see that the two were soundly sleeping without a care in the world.
'They probably let down their guards because they trust us.' He thought, causing something warm in his chest.
"Eric, I want its position." Chloe asked while looking into those fiery violet eyes of his.
Eric felt it, her tension...it was like a volcano which had been sealed, making the pressure build up...and now, with just a word from him, she would explode, raining down lava.
"Not now, if it still hasn't made a move by morning, I will join you." He answered.

Prerequisites for Greatness (RWBY)
Jaune always knew that being a hero meant going on adventures, sometimes very far from home. He just hadn't thought he would start so early, or so far. Sadly he wasn't high level enough to learn teleportation, nor did life have an easily accessible mount option. His own two legs and an occasional donkey would have to do. Medieval setting; gamer Jaune. You don't need to know anything about the RWBY universe to read this.

Einherjar
*This is the remake of Hell Bound* Einherjar, known in Norse mythology for being the warriors who fight at the end of days, Ragnarok. Arthur Clive felt that described Adventurer's pretty well, given that they were fighting to prevent the apocalypse due to a megalomaniacal being known as Chronos who somehow took over Hell and invaded Earth. It seems like a fantasy, but it isn't... and Arthur is just one of many who are trying to kill Chronos before he kills them. The only difference between Arthur and the others being that he's the closest to getting it right.

Modded Skyr*m: Real Life Edition
It seems that I died while I was playing VR Skyr*m. The next thing I knew, I was standing in front of the middle-aged man who called himself The Overlord of Dremora and Dragons. He told me they were releasing Skyr*m: Real-Life Edition. However, you have to be dead first to play it, and I was chosen as a 'beta tester' of sorts. I found myself in a semi-realistic (thanks to mods) world, and I want to have fun and relax for the rest of my life, and maybe get back to Earth. There's just a small *RAWR* problem. Setting: This happens within the world in The Legend of the Fake Hero, specifically two arcs from now. About: I am writing this for fun as a side project. I intend this to be semi-interactive as I will have polls where readers can influence the book's direction. I have the final say because I believe that too many cooks in the kitchen are not a good thing. The plan is to write it in parts that are around 1-2k words. Typically around every 3 to 6 parts, they will be combined into a finalized chapter and re-edited for a smoother read. Release schedule: When I feel like it. I'll be more inclined to write if there is more interaction, both in comments and polls, towards the story. However, I will be focusing on The Legend of the Fake Hero because that is something I own entirely and enjoy. I will try to do consistent uploads. Disclaimer: This work falls under fair use as it is a partial parity, does not affect the value of the original work, is an original story within the setting (within my setting), and is not being sold. All IP belongs to their respective owners (including myself). Currently uploading on Scribble Hub and Royal Road under the same username.
