RB Chapter 81 Forming Alliances
Once he reached his room, Eric only packed a couple of clothes for him to change into once the ones he was in got damaged.
After packing, he looked towards his left wrist where something new had been added. It looked like a patch, but it wasn't something that simple. Instead it was a high level device with all the functions of a phone and it even directly connected to the satellites in space. It had been something which had been given to all the ten who had been at the meeting.
"This thing is pretty convenient." He mumbled while admiring it.
He went out of the room towards the living room only to find Chloe already waiting.
"Where is your luggage?" He asked. For him, this time he had brought along durable clothes, after all he didn't want the embarrassing situation they had found themselves in when he first entered the wilderness with Elec.
"I searched through, and found that all the clothes I have would be useless so I decided not to pack any."
"You do know that we are going to spend a long time in the wilderness, right?" Eric asked.
"Don't worry, I will just use animal hides if these ones get damaged." She said nonchalantly. She had changed into a pair of jeans and a black blouse with a blue lightning logo on the chest.
Eric ultimately didn't continue as she had a symor. She wouldn't get into any uncompromising situations.
------
"Hey! Eric! You didn't tell me about this!" That was Chloe's voice. They had just arrived right outside the west gate and the sight that entered her eyes made her shout at him.
There were about ten of road vehicles parked on the side of the road and a crowd consisting of almost 30 individuals were crowded around the cars in different groups.
"Sorry about that." He apologised awkwardly. Even he only thought that at most, their would be twenty people, but this number was a bit higher than anticipated.
Monki, Miss Njibwa and Mugumivu were like moons surrounded by stars as their group had the largest people, coupled with Ngabi and Sting.
Dora Pusi and Sally Ggonya were each surrounded by two attendants each and judging by their postures, they were warriors.
Elena and Leah were each alone with no attendants.
This scene came about because they had proposed a competition, a very vicious competition!

It was going to be a race towards the north, the finish line being what used to be the northern borders of Uganda. The only mode of transport was going to be cars and each person was only allowed to bring up to five people.
"I will explain all of this to you as its too long, but for now let's first choose a vehicle." Eric said while taking the lead to walk towards a car. The cars were covered in black armor plates and had large tires, whose diameter was equal.to the current height of Eric! The armor plates were made with advanced material technology, but of course they weren't something which anybody would rely on as beasts had plenty of unique abilities.
When Eric had just arrived at a vehicle, he saw Sally heading towards him from a corner of his eyes.
'What does she want?' He wondered.
"I would like to travel with you if it isn't of any inconvenience to you." She asked politely.
"Huh!? Me? Why? There are plenty of other choices, right?" He asked while looking around.
"Because they don't have what you have, energy channeling. According to the information I have managed to grasp so far, only a few people in the city have mastered it and they are all on the side of the new government. We can't ask for their help. We know the basics and can experiment, but being near someone who has experience, like you is the best course of action."
'Wow, this woman can actually analyse the situation this well?'
"Oh, young lady, you are very observant!" Even Chloe praised.
"There's no need to call me young lady, Chloe. We are all from the same generation." A frown appeared on Sally's small face.
"Hehehehehe..." Chloe laughed awkwardly.
"But I don't see any benefit from travelling with you." Eric rejected.
"Besides, I am a lone wolf type of guy, if it wasn't because I know this woman, I wouldn't have even asked her to join me." He continued while pointing towards Chloe.
"Hey!" Chloe was dissatisfied.
"Don't worry, I only bring endless benefits. I can provide you with information. That's the one thing I am confident in, that none here surpass me in." She said.
'She is right, but I wonder if she has any information that will be valuable to me.' He turned the suggestion over in his mind.

"Sure, you can join us. The more the merrier!"
"Huh? Chloe! I haven't even accepted yet. I am the leader of the party!" Eric complained.
"Don't sweat the small stuff! She is a great addition, besides she is beautiful, who doesn't want beauties by their side?" Chloe waved him off.
Eric sighed in exasperation before opening the door of the car and entering.
"He has accepted. By the way, I am also proficient in energy channeling." Chloe started charting with Sally enthusiastically.
"Oh! It looks like Sally has decided to join that brat!?" The person who said that sounded uncertain and surprised. It was Ngabi. Even though he had been chatting with people, he had kept his attention to the others. This was going to be a competition after all!
"He's the only one among us who has any inkling on energy channeling. And you do know Sally's personality, don't you? She is someone who seeks for the most maximum of benefits through logic." Mugumivu supplemented. He had also noticed that movement.
"Brother Monki, aren't you worried about that little brat?" Sting asked him on the side.
"It doesn't matter. So what if he has a headstart?" Monki didn't put Eric in his eyes at all. All of his attention was being occupied by the beauty at his side.
"All of you can go back!" Miss Njibwa said to the five guards who were with her.
"But miss, the wilderness is dangerous!" One of them, a man who appeared to be in his 40s protested.
"I can't always stay in a green house, besides, I won't be alone." That statement caused the man to shift his eyes towards the four men and their entourages.
"That is true, but are they trustworthy?" The man whispered in miss Njibwa's ears.
A pensive look crossed Njibwa's face when the question was asked. She had long known that these two strongest men admired her but she wasn't interested. If per chance they used their superior numbers to try something in the wilderness, how would she be able to protect herself?
As she wondered about that, her gaze shifted to Leah, Elena and Dora.
"Dora, Leah and Elena, should we team up?" She asked loudly. She had caught sight of a wrinkle on Mugumivu's forehead when the man had aired his suspicions. He had the best hearing, being from the Njovu clan(elephant gene). But she chose to ignore it.
Dora was caught off guard by the proposal, but she still scoffed and moved further away displaying her stance.
Elena and Leah both acted as if they hadn't heard anything.
"Leah. You can join me." A new voice offered causing all the people to shift their attention towards it. It had come from inside the car, the one Eric had entered.
Leah hesitated only for a little before making her way over. She didn't talk to anyone but simply entered the back seat and sat down.
"You are the only person I have ties to." Elena also came over with such a justification.
"Those two bitches! They dare to refuse you and instead choose that guy!" Ngabi cursed vehemently. He was trying to curry favor with miss Njibwa but she ignored him. Instead, she walked out of the encirclement towards Eric's car.
Sally and Chloe turned their gazes towards her simultaneously. They had just been chatting merrily, but they had still kept a sliver of their attention towards the largest group.
"Can I join you?" Miss Njibwa asked sincerely upon spotting Eric in the front passenger seat.
"I don't care, but what did you bring to the table? Sally brings information, the two in the back are acquaintances and Chloe is an energy channeler."
The last statement caused all the people in the group to shift their attention towards this woman with an above average looking face and two mountains on her chest. Even Leah and Elena were shocked! Everyone here was from a large clan, even though some might not have met her, they at least had encountered information about her, so they all knew Chloe.
"Sister Chloe, you have hidden deeply." Monki said with narrowed eyes. He hadn't paid much attention to her, but now that he did, he sensed a faint threat from her, which hadn't existed with Eric.
'How come this brat has such a powerhouse following him. What's their relationship?' Ngabi and Sting had their eyes flicker violently as they mulled over that. They felt that the brat was starting to threaten the positions of the people they admired.

Chronicles Of The Storylord: 12th Chronicle - Origin
Twelve souls were chosen to expand into the void surrounding the known universe(s), and were given a grace period in which they would experience a relatively safe expansion of their domains. Once that period is up, however, they are free to interact with each other...and what lurks in the depths of the Abyss, the Void, and the Primordial Chaos. I am the 12th soul, but I am not as those others are, for I am merely a shard. My purpose: begin the Tale anew. For I am the Storylord, and I am the Tale. The Tale is all, and all is the Tale, yet the Tale is myself, for I am all in my domain. This is my story, the saga of many, the legend… of the Tale. Just remember this: “This world is but a story, and all the stories are true...” This story is in the same general multiverse as RE: Deity by lightningwarrior21, but will be almost completely separate except in a few chapters. I have permission from him to use his base multiverse, and you should go check out his fiction, it’s really good. http://royalroadl.com/fiction/9597 This ‘fiction’ will be updated sporadically, so don’t expect much of a steady stream of chapters. (I’ll try to do one chapter a week, but no promises.) Suggestions on how to improve this universe helps with the management, so comments are welcome, as are Grammar Nazis. I’ve had this fiction mostly as scattered notes in my google drive, and only recently had enough time to actually put it together, like I promised lightning back in January. (Writer’s block and schoolwork do not mix well.) The cover is not owned by me, I found the image on google images. Anyway, I’ll be back yesterday… or was that tomorrow? (I really need to get that damn causality generator fixed, me-damnit!) See ya!
