RB Chapter 71 Conclusion
Lena, who was facing her husband, rotated around on the spot after winking at him and let out a sound wave, destroying all the projectiles.
Elder Muti hurriedly retreated. The sound wave only dissipated after travelling about six meters. He breathed in a sigh of relief after seeing that.
But, before he could even rejoice, the husband and wife raced towards him in tandem. He had still been shocked by what he had seen when his gaze had landed on Mr. Lee.
Mr. Lee's entire figure had been coated in blood, yet this woman wasn't spotting any injury in the slightest! That had caused his heart to tremble.
"Don't worry elder, these are minor injuries!" Mr. Lee shouted before he raced towards the trio. He couldn't allow the elder to lose here! The goals of the elder were important!
Breaking the shackles which had been placed by the ten clans was going to bring about freedom!
He shattered the ground and sped towards the elder! When he reappeared, he was at the elder's side!
He launched a kick towards Lena the moment he appeared. She blocked it before using her palms to try and lock it in place only for it to slide out, eliciting an exclamation from her.
Mr. Lee's move caused her to slow down and once again separate from her husband!
"Jump!" Leo whispered as he bypassed her. She didn't hesitate one bit, using all her strength, she jumped up before a series of cracks appeared under Leo's feet and spread towards all the parts of the roof that had still been intact!
Mr. Lee and elder Muti were caught off guard by the development! They sank along with the roof.
Leo had also jumped up towards his wife. A cloud of dust was raised upon the collapse!
Leo and Lena exchanged glances in midair and each was capable of understanding the other's thoughts.
They swallowed energy capsules, sucked in, and voluminous amounts of air started entering their lungs. This time they didn't stop, causing their chests to expand.
Inside of their lungs, the air they were taking in was being compressed into liquid by the pressure. Their lungs were only capable of handling such power because a large amount of energy was being channeled towards them!
After a certain point, they exhaled, causing all that liquefied air to be expelled from their lungs. In the split second before it could expand however, they also released vibrations into it from their vocal cords!

(Boooooom!)
It was like thunder had just struck in the sky! The liquefied air expanded outwards due to the sound waves and it wanting to return to its natural state in a low pressure environment.
The rippling shockwaves descended towards the building and crushed everything in their path!
The elder and Mr. Lee who had just landed on the next floor were pressed to the ground and groaned in pain! The floor under them developed cracks and collapsed instantaneously!
The shockwave turned everything in its path into dust! It was like the apocalypse had descended! By the time it lost power, the building had been shortened by 20 floors!
Such power was too much even for the ones who had released as blood could be seen pouring out of their orifices and their faces were pale!
Once they landed on the remaining floor, which was covered in concrete dust, they both stumbled, only barely managing to stay standing by holding onto each other.
"Aaaaaaaah!" A howl filled with sadness reached their ears from under them. It contained unimaginable fury too! The husband and wife could see shock mirrored in each other's eyes when they looked at each other.
That was unmistakably elder Muti's voice! That was shocking to them! The vibrations in that shockwave were deadly enough, that even they were sure that they would die, yet, he survived!
The ground somewhere shifted. Due to the nature of the attack, all the dust that the 20 floors had produced hadn't been pushed away, instead it had been pressed against the building and it had accumulated. It had also managed to dampen some of the power of their attack. Or lease the damage woundn't have stopped at just 20 floors.
The dust shifted and a figure crawled out. His figure was blood soaked with dust clinging onto his body. But his green furious pupils pinned him as elder Muti.
He was glaring at the couple with such hatred that even they shivered. He crawled out little by little before collapsing. It seems like he couldn't get up.
When they saw the rest of the elder's body, they couldn't help but suck in a breath of air! Due to damage to their lungs and vocal cords though, they coughed and winced in pain.
Elder Muti visibly remembered what had happened to Mr. Lee was was terrified! Mr. Lee had burst into blood mist the moment that the shockwave had reached him!

The elder had watched all that happen! It had been a traumatic experience. And losing such a loyal subject also made fury rise in his mind every time.
He had done all that he could to survive, like turning his body into viscous stuff, like a liquid. He thanked his lucky stars that his body was merged with plants.
But right now, it was deformed! The reason, he couldn't make it go back to its normal form due to the death of billions of cells and a lack of energy. You could even say that only his brain and nervous system were still intact.
The sound of wind was heard and multiple figures landed on the roof. They were four, and unfamiliar in the eyes of the couple. But the couple was also keen enough to detect that they were energy channelers.
"Elder, that guy...Godfrey somehow vanished. We couldn't locate him." One of them, a burly male spoke. There were three men and one woman.
"I didn't expect the elder to be pushed to this level!" The woman chuckled. She was wearing a long black dress with blood stains on it. She must have come straight here from a battle.
One of the other males moved towards the elder and fed him some energy capsules.
"Mr and Mrs. Mpologoma, you truly are the leaders of the last generation!" The thin man who was still standing commented. Admiration was thick in his voice.
"But right now as you can see, you have no chance of winning. What do you suppose we do?" Four bouts of pressure were released pressed towards the couple the moment the guy finished speaking.
All their concentrations hadn't left the couple ever since they arrived. They knew that these people were dangerous! After all, even they would have trouble causing such destruction!
Both Leo and Lena silently raised their hands in a gesture of surrender.
The four people, coupled with the elder, were all thrown for a loop! They failed to do anything causing silence to permeate the atmosphere.
"You are surrendering?" The man who was administering capsules to the elder asked after some seconds ticked by.
Leo and Lena nodded their heads in accent.
"Why?" The query came from the woman.
Leo and Lena both gestured towards their necks. They were signalling that they couldn't talk.
"So you can't talk, due to your vocal cords sustaining injury!" The woman figured it out.
"But still, how do we make sure that you don't attack the moment we get close to you?" She asked.
Leo and Lena both exhaled. There was no plausible they could think of.
"Cough, cough"
The elder's abnormal looking body started recovering its form after taking the energy capsules. He was the one who had coughed.
"Elder Lee, died." That was the first sentence that came out of his mouth causing the four to widen their eyes in shock!
"He refused to add any other genes to his genetic code. If he had, he might have found some way to survive." He continued.
"Our teacher died!?" The woman almost collapsed in disbelief! Even the three men were shaken! Mr. Lee was the person who had imparted energy channeling to them. You could even say that his weight in their hearts surpassed that of the elder!
"How did he die? We want to see his body!" The woman, whose emotions were the most agitated asked.
"He exploded into blood mist." Elder Muti had his head lowered.
"Haha...hahahaha...hahahahaha..." Laughter leaked out if the woman's mouth, but it was accompanied by tears.
-----
"Hello, young lady. Don't be nervous! Treat this place as your home." An elder was squatting down and looking at a young girl about 12 years of age. She was nervous, and was clutching her dress tightly, causing her knuckles to turn white.
Tears were pooling in her eyes but a warm hand parted her in the head. She abruptly fell into his embrace and cried upon feeling that warmth.
Her parents had died and she had just become an orphan. But this was the era of turmoil with Kampala city having just been built.
------
Tears streamed down the woman's face upon remembering all those times that she had with the elder. She had considered him her relative.
"I am going to kill you!" She screamed at the top of her lungs and hurled herself towards the couple.
But before she could reach them, two of the men restrained her.
"Let me go! They must die! They must die! Why did you kill Mr. Lee? Elder! Why didn't you protect him?" She collapsed on the ground and shouted.

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter. This story is also being posted to Scribblehub.
