RB Chapter 70 Let's Fight!
The vines unwound themselves, exposing the trio.
Lena and Leo tried to stand up, but they collapsed back onto the ground.
Meanwhile, Godfrey abruptly stood up, startling the elder.
'He didn't get poisoned! What thick skin!' But to him that was just a minor setback. Ultimately, Godfrey will run out of power.
Even though he had interrupted his technique, he had rewarded them with something else! He was helping them exhaust the couple's energy. And they didn't even have to help!
Godfrey spread his palms and lifted the couple by their heads, before smashing down with such force that even the part they were on collapsed, dragging all of them under.
He continued using the two's heads, smashing through every floor of the building that they reached!
A trickle blood flew out of the couple's mouths. Their dizziness got more pronounced with every smash and they were in the verge of dying.
'I can't die here!!! I am Leo!' Leo grit his teeth and caused his vocal cords to vibrate, ultimately spreading those vibrations towards his entire body! All his cells started vibrating at unique frequency!
This was an ability he ultimately discovered when he was pondering new techniques. It used the vocal cords unique way of vibrating the air, and applied it to his body. It had taken him a lot of trial and error to master it. Any mistake on his part would have led to his death!
He had used it earlier when he caused Godfrey's arm to burst into pieces.
Right now, all he wanted was to save his wife and himself from dying .
"Kuh!"
Godfrey spat out a mouthful of blood the moment the vibrational force entered his body! He hurriedly hurled the couple towards the next floor!
His vision became blurry, before he fainted, but not before a black shadow picked up his body and vanished.
The vibrations had made his cellular rearrangement go out of control!
"Ah!" Lena screamed in pain when her back made contact with the concrete floor once again. She felt as if her body was about to turn into mush. The jolting of her body had caused the poison to spread around fast and right now, she was on the verge of losing consciousness.
"Lena!...Lena!....Lena!" She vaguely heard a voice calling out to her, but right now she felt tired. All she wanted was to sleep. But the voice kept calling out to her. It had a note of worry and urgency.

She tried to open her eyes. Her vision was blurry but she could vaguely make out a face looking down at her. It was full of worry and anxiety. Her lips formed a curve. She was happy that her husband was showing her care at this point in time.
"Where is Godfrey?" She asked softly after collecting her thoughts.
A sigh of relief escaped Leo's lips upon confirming that his wife was still alive. He sat to the side and looked up towards the hole they had just fell through.
'How many floors were we smashed through?' He wondered. He could vaguely make out the sky. Even the drizzling rain had stopped and the clouds in the sky were on the verge of clearing away.
"It looks like we are still weak, huh." Lena's voice came from the side. Leo felt inclined to agree but he stopped himself.
"That was just temporary, and he must have more damage than us, after all he was straining his brain." Leo said.
"That's right. Should we keep fighting, or run away?" Lena asked softly.
"What happened to you? Are you sick? we are the Mpologomas, we don't run away from a fight!" Leo shouted.
"There is nothing wrong with me. When that guy was thrashing us around, I suddenly felt that all this was pointless. If we both die, who is going to take care Elena, Wasswa and Kato. That was what was passing through my mind. We shouldn't become selfish and not consider our children in our decision making." Lena's face was clouded by an unexplainable emotion.
"You are right, but will you really agree to just wondering the wilderness? You have built everything in this city with your own hands, even if we go to another city, you won't be able to replicate that feat."
Leo said as a green steam was expelled out of both his and her pores. It was the poison. Their immune systems were working. He felt his head become clearer.
"But I still wonder about what would have happened if I had agreed with you and gone to the wilderness." It looked like she was regretting.
"There is no use in thinking about the past." Leo said before standing up.
"Right now we have to fight! And make sure that we win! So that we can go back to our children." He offered his hand to her and she took it helping herself up.

"What's taking that guy? Did he manage to kill them?" Mr. Lee was getting impatient. They had been hearing the sound of impacts, but after a while, it had quietened down.
"At least we get a chance to recover." The elder didn't look too fazed. He was simply channeling the energy from the capsules he had just taken and was dealing with his injuries coupled with replenishing the energy he had just spent.
"Elder, what do we do?"
"Don't worry." He said confidently.
Mr. Lee released a sigh before deciding to trust the elder.
A few minutes later, the sound of cutting through the air was heard and two figures reappeared holding hands. It was the couple, who had recovered.
"Oh! Where's Godfrey?" Elder Muti's alarmed voice was heard. He had thought that Godfrey had killed the two! That had been the source if his confidence! He was just waiting for him to show up, weakened from his exersion, so that he could get an easy kill.
"The problem with you elder is that you have gotten too accustomed to hiding in the shadows, delegating tasks!" Leo pointed out with a grin. Right now he was in a good mood. Due to the elder's carelessness, he had just given them ample time to recover. Even the couple was surprised upon seeing that Godfrey wasn't here.
"Hmm!" Leo groaned and created another vibrational force which started oscillating his cells. This time he was going to be serious from the get go!
His feet tapped the ground and he sped towards the elder.
The elder didn't slow down and once again grew branches on his skin and they pursued him. But this time Leo didn't evade, he simply tapped every branch which appeared in from of him and it disintegrated.
Lena didn't slow down as she too also headed towards her opponent, Mr. Lee.
Elder Muti panicked the moment he saw that his attack wasn't working. In his eyes Leo only looked like he was leisurely heading towards him without any trouble!
A glint of decisiveness appeared in his eyes before wooden armor appeared around his body, enclosing it with only his green pupils visible. It was his symor, which had been made with such an ability.
All the branches which had been attacking Leo withered.
(Boom!)
An explosion happened under his legs causing the already little space on the roof to lose another piece which sunk down below.
He appeared in front of Leo in an instant and threw a punch! Leo only raised his palm to block.
A sneer appeared on the elder's lips. Sharp thorns abruptly grew on his armored arm when it was only a few inches near Leo's palm.
He was thinking of what to do next after the thorns punctured Leo's arm only for his eyes to widen in shock!
He hurriedly leaped back and raised his fist to look at it. The first thorn to come in contact with Leo's palm had disintegrated! And it spread up to his fist causing cracks to appear on his armor. They mended themselves, but now a trace of caution was birthed in his mind.
Leo didn't pause at all and instead attacked again. This time the elder was on the back foot. He was dodging, trying his level best not to let any of the attacks to connect.
Leo's palm grazed his arm causing the armor to lose a chink! He was very alarmed and produced a thorn from that arm, firing towards Leo.
He dodged and pressed his attack. But when the elder saw Leo dodge his attack, his eyes lit up.
An idea had appeared! Various parts of his armor produced thorns and he launched them every time Leo was in sight! Leo had no choice but to continuously dodge!
'Too bad I can't make use of sound when my cells are vibrating.' Leo lamented as he swept a thorn to the side. It disintegrated even before it hit the ground. Leo continued to move evasively, and the elder pressed the attack.
That was when a figure appeared in his vision. It was Lena. She winked at him and he understood right away.
"Lee! What are you doing?" The elder asked and turned his head towards Mr. Lee. But he was shocked upon seeing him!

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
