RB Chapter 68 Useless Godfrey
"Don't worry, Lee! You can focus on your battle. Such an attack can't kill me." Elder Muti dissuaded.
With his body clad in only pants, his muscles were all on full view, making you wonder whether he really was an old man.
"I am going to have to fight seriously.'
"Hmmm!" He shouted before forcefully sucking back all the energy in the branches, causing them to wither.
"I have to commend you, actually taking the risk to merge the DNA of a tree with your cells and succeeding without dying!" Leo clapped his hands.
After that, he turned into a streak, only to appear in front of the elder, his claws drawn into a horizontal swipe towards his head.
The elder was greatly alarmed, but he still reacted fast!
Multiple thorns grew out of his face and body and elongated almost instantaneously, turning him into a porcupine.
Leo hard no choice but to withdraw his hand.
As his mouth opened to release a sound wave, a sound reached his ears!
His eyes widened when he saw the thorns hurtling towards him!
'Shit, I should have known!' He didn't slow down at all and released a high frequency wave causing them to shatter.
But before he could rejoice further, multiple vines entangled him and bound up his body.
"Die!!!" An enraged voice came from the side as a black spike headed towards his head.
It was Godfrey, who had just managed to come back with his body showing no signs of injury, or blood. His face was adorned with a twisted expression.
The vines abruptly split apart and the spike was swept to side by a hand, shattering even before hitting the ground.
""What?"" Both the elder and Godfrey were shocked! Leo hadn't produced any sound and the elder was sure he hadn't exerted any strength because he would have felt the tension in the vines!
"Hmmm!" A muffled voice was heard in Leo's mouth, before he sped towards Godfrey.
'I am not a weakling at close combat like the elder!' He smirked before his arms transformed into those of a gorilla.
He was confident that in strength, he was far stronger than a mere lion!
Leo appeared in front of him in the midst of throwing a punch.
He countered and the two fists connected. But what happened next blew Godfrey away!
First, his arm was pushed back immediately, causing his elbow joint to shatter, before a vibrational force caused his arm to blow up! He was blown away to the edge of the building.

After forcing himself to a stop, Godfrey looked down at his arm with a shocked expression.
'That strength! How could he have overpowered me! Did he add a gorilla's genes into one of his slots?'
'What about that vibrational force?'
Many questions formed in his mind.Deep in thought, he barely managed to turn his face in time only to see a swipe heading down on top of his head.
Those brown eyes contained a self confidence that he lacked! His heart almost burst in anger!
'I won't let you have the last laugh!'
He opened his mouth and something darted out at a fast speed!
Leo only shifted his head a little causing whatever came out to only graze his cheek. His momentum didn't slow down at all!
A grinding of metal was heard when his claws made contact with Godfrey's head!
But the force of the swipe coupled with energy channeling on Leo's part caused, his legs to sink into the floor, before it all collapsed and he fell under.
'He survived...mmmm how tenacious.' That thought passed through Leo's calm mind.
He turned his head towards the elder only to see thick trees growing out of his body, towards him.
'How much energy does he have?' Leo wondered.
He took a step, and appeared on top of the growing wood before pushing himself off towards the elder.
"True genesis!!" Elder Muti shouted, causing plants to sprout everywhere, from trees to flowers! Their roots penetrated the concrete, even the frailest of them!
Leo tried to jump away, but he didn't even get the chance before some vines started growing on his body, even tiny trees, which dug inside of his skin and started sucking out his energy and nutrients!
"Shit!" Even he, who had been composed, cursed and started pulling out all the plants adhering to his body.
While he was distructed, more plants wound around him, merged, and turned into a single organism!
'It appears that I have managed to seal him. Now, I need to suck out all of his energy.'
A pair of eyes opened somewhere on the large green thing occupying the all areas of the roof. It looked like a green blood with roots sinking into the concrete floor and different species of plants growing out of it. The pair of eyes had opened on the stem of one of the plants growing on it.
'This exhausts energy!' Elder Muti thought. He was the one who had turned into this life form.

'I even managed to capture Lena! That's good! I should probably eject Lee.'
Somewhere on the life form, a hole opened and something popped out.
It was Mr. Lee, who would have been naked if it wasn't for a brown skin like thing covering his body. It was his symor.
"Elder, you should have given me a warning." Mr. Lee grumbled.
"If I had, I might not have managed to capture Lena too."
A mouth appeared on the same stem.
"How are they?" Mr. Lee asked.
"They are struggling." The elder frowned.
"They will probably break out soon." He continued.
"What? Even your True genesis isn't able to digest them?" Mr. Lee asked incredulously.
"It isn't omnipotent." The elder said.
'How I wish this was enough. What the hell is that idiot doing?' Elder Muti almost shouted.
Ever since the battle started, Godfrey, whom they had thought would be useful, was being taken out again and again!
That was enough to infuriate him! If he had been competent, the elder wouldn't have resorted to using true genesis!
It required a massive amount of energy, and seeds had to be set up before hand!
When he triggered their growth, they would bloom and connect with the others until that connection reached his body, turning him into a gigantic organism!
The energy he had just expended to activate the ability was the equivalent of almost 50 ATP capsules! A staggering amount! Luckily, he had made preparations!
"Elder, should we call Chloe?" Even Mr. Lee was starting to see the uselessness of Godfrey.
"We should let her be. Right now, he is also a target we have to get rid of. He will be dangerous if he stays alive." The elder narrowed his green eyes.
'This must also become Godfrey's burial place!' He swore in his mind.
-----
"Why is he strong? Why are all of them strong? They are practically monsters!" Godfrey was shouting at the top of his lungs.
Right now, he was standing in a dark room. He had fallen through into an office. It must have been for one of the higher ups of the Mpologoma clan judging by how well furnished it had been.
But now, roots were creeping along the walls and they appeared to be scrounging for minerals. The walls themselves were turning into powder, which had led him to that speculation.
Something was covering the hole he had fallen through, some kind of life form.
'What is this, though! Could it be an ability of someone?' He pondered as he massaged his neck.
It had broken when he had been attacked by Leo.
'I have many abilities but I haven't even had a chance to use them! Its like I am useless!'
As he looked towards the ceiling, he started to lose faith in himself.
(Drop! Drop! Drop!)
The dripping of water from the top became the only sound left in this room.
"Nonononono... I can't become discouraged! If I can't get my revenge, then what's the point of being in this world!" His eyes widened and his pupils reddened!
"It looks like I will need to use cellular rearrangement!" He had not heard of energy channeling, but he had managed to figure out cellular rearrangement through his many years of research.
He grit his teeth and passed out instructions to every cell in his body while also imagining the form he wanted.
His body heightened and widened causing it to alone reach the roof. Black fur grew out and covered all of it, leaving only the face visible.
He had decided to perform molecular rearrangement in his beast form.
Ripples appeared on his body as lines of blood appeared on his ears, nose and mouth.
Right now, his cells, from the organs to the skin were taking on a particular arrangement. They were arranging themselves in such away that they could accumulate kinetic energy. He wanted to be strong and fast!
He staggered after the process ended. His face was pale, but a grin was adorning it, lighting up his facial expression.
'I succeeded! Hahahahaha...I managed it!' He stomped on the ground with one foot in excitement and caused it to collapse.
He sunk downwards onto the next floor.
'Woah! Just a little bit of force, and yet it collapsed? How strong?' He was like a kid who had just attained a new toy.
'Aaaaah!!!' But a while later, he held his head in his hands and howled in pain. The calculations had.placed a strain on it.
Just like carbo atoms can be arranged to form a diamond, cells and tissue too can be rearranged to grant different results. But the calculation power needed is too much for the brain of a single human to handle!

The Pillar Forts, one of the few successful projects of the United Nations headed by the United States, stand ready to defend humanity against any invasion that may come through the strange Connection Pillars that appeared on each continent. Massive steel and stone walls that surround the Connection Pillars. They are filled with deadly men and women trained in all manner of warfare, each trained in the newly acquired System with skills and magical abilities that they put to deadly purpose. Beside these brave warriors, tanks, helicopters, artillery and more stand ready to defend humanity at each of these powerful installations. But, can they overcome the disparity in levels and experience between themselves and the forces that threaten them and the rest of humanity? Main Characters Jessica Brown- A young African American girl. Her 18th birthday in Detroit was the same day the systems message appeared. She discovered she was Level 7, much higher than most of the rest of the world. Why she is blessed, or cursed, with the power she doesn’t know. But what she does know is that she rather likes the feeling that comes with manipulating magic. The week after her birthday, government workers started testing every person in the US in a massive census effort of skills and abilities. Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. While everyone else sees beauty or danger when they look at the pillars, after connection is made all Jessica can see is a Tree. A tree the size of the entire universe. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? DEDICATION: This story is dedicated to my father who passed away recently. Jim Holloway, you’ll be missed you old silverback gorilla. Love you dad. Always have, always will.
