RB Chapter 66 Arrival Of A Helper
The time was currently 8:34am, the heavy rain, showing no signs of slowing down, and two elderly gentlemen, being pelted by it.
Both Elder Muti and Mr. Lee were standing ramrod straight despite the rain pelting them and soaking their clothes.
No matter how much it pattered their bodies, none of them moved, like statues!
Right now they were both waiting for someone that Elder Muti had just called.
They weren't worried that Leo would attack. It was an instinct they had.
"Elder." Mr. Lee warned at this time. But the elder had also already detected that someone was coming.
"Old geezer, how come you are waiting here? Could it be that your attack failed?" A taunting voice reached their ears before its owner even arrived.
"Mr. Godfrey, mind your words!" Mr. Lee frowned.
"What? Should I be scared of you? Well am not?" Godfrey walked out. He was still bare chested with only a pair of pants covering his bottom half.
"There is no need to bicker, after all we are allies, however loosely." Elder raised his arm to stop Mr. Lee who was about to take a step forward.
"Godfrey, right now you are the only person on hand that we could contact, so restrain your vulgar behaviour. We need to work together. Leo isn't a man that is easy to take down." Elder Muti continued.
"I saw Chloe back at the Masanyalaze clan and there was no Baguma, did you call me here as canon fodder?" Godfrey asked as he folded his arms across his chest. His sharp gaze was wondering across the elders trying to determine any loopholes in their plastic expressions.
"Oh! That is interesting! Where is Baguma then?" The Elder's voice contained a note of interest.
"She said that he died. And it seems in the wilderness. Only the clone managed to make it back alive."
"That development is certainly advantageous to us. I didn't know that she was back, if I knew, I wouldn't have called you."
"Heh!" Godfrey's mouth opened a little. There was no proof that the old geezer would have refused to contact him..
He knew it himself, he was a variable. The old geezer needed to keep him within his sights. Even if they had Chloe with them, the old geezer might still have invited him.

"So what's the plan? What made you want to go with the three against two scenario?" He decided to gloss over the previous thread of conversation with a new one.
"Leo's sound ability is troublesome. So we wanted to prepare more people." This time Mr. Lee answered. The elder decided to let him talk.
"Oh! It looks like this battle will be interesting! Would you kindly let me harvest his genes?" Godfrey licked his lips with his abnormally long tongue.
"Sure!" The elder answered.
"What? Elder do you understand what you are doing?" Mr. Lee protested.
"Don't worry, he still doesn't know about energy channeling, he thinks that Leo's body is somehow special." Elder Muti whispered into Mr. Lee's ears.
'What are these old geezers discussing?...anyway, it would be great if I can study the cells of the strongest man in Kampala city! These people think that I am dumb, how can that be? I have already noticed several people in the association who are abnormally strong without even using the abilities of genetic slots, there must be some secret. If I learn it, I might not need to waste the energy of my precious energy fruits.' His thoughts drifted to the five purple fruits which were in the place where his heart was supposed to be.
"Anyway, let's not waste time, we need to finish this battle fast!" Elder Muti must have managed to convince Mr. Lee as he obediently stood to one side.
"Are you accepting my conditions?" Godfrey asked.
"Yes! But they can only given to you once he's dead. I wouldn't want you to run off if we manage to only cut off an arm." An incredible pressure burst out of elder Muti and inundated him causing him to take a step back, terror visible in his eyes.
'I don't fear you old geezer but if I don't show weakness, you will have your guard up. Hmph! When I finish my revenge, I will come after you next and teach you a lesson. Besides, your cells are compatible with mine.' He thought as a dark expression crossed his face.
"Elder! Once you finish, meet us at the roof!" An arrogant voice reached the trio's ears causing all three to subconsciously look up only to lower their gazes and continuously blink their eyes to get rid of the water droplets.

"I have heard rumors, but I didn't think that he was this arrogant!" Godfrey clicked his tongue in amazement.
"Oh! Elder, if the situation happens to turn south, I will abandon you. My life is more important after all!" Godfrey reminded.
"...of course!" Elder Muti said after a pause. Though his brows were farrowed in displeasure. Even Mr. Lee almost blew his top but eye contact with the elder calmed him down.
"Then, what about your revenge?" Elder Muti asked.
"I do remember that you joined our association for revenge..." Mr. Lee probed.
"As long as I an alive, I can always seek it. If am dead, how can I get it? I can continue to become stronger if I stay alive, and my target isn't always going to stay strong. You understand, right?" Godfrey grinned.
'These bafoons! What's the point of dying if you can't accomplish your goal?' He ridiculed in his mind. He was sure that even if the situation turned dire, these elders will keep fighting to the death.
'Though, they will have to, after all they won't be able to stay in this city if they fail.'
Elder Muti rummaged through his pockets and removed a seed, which he tossed to the ground.
It cracked, causing a shoot and root to grow out and extend in opposite directions. The concrete cracked when the roots became big enough and they dug under.
Some roots tangled the corpses of the ants and Godfrey was flabbergasted to see then shrinking at a speed visible to the naked eye!
The shoot extended skywards taking both the elder and Mr. Lee who had jumped on beforehand.
'Such a tiny seed contained that much energy? How was it made?' Godfrey felt his heartbeat increase with excitement. Right now he had an urge to simply kill the elder, plunder any more seeds he might have had, and race back to his lab to conduct research.
'All in due time, right now I need to look at the longterm!' He calmed down his raging emotions and focused on the task at hand.
"I can't let them outdo me." He mumbled before one of his legs enlarged, causing the trousers to burst.
Its skin had taken on a green hue! Like that of a plant!
The toes of the enlarged foot, dug into the ground and turned into roots while the foot elongated and he was pushed upwards by its growth.
'Shit?' He cursed internally! Right now, among the five fruits, one was being exhausted to support the growth of the tree.
'Oh! How did he manage to incoparate plant cells when he already has gorilla cells?' Elder Muti was shocked when Godfrey reached them.
His face was adorning a smirk and it caused Mr. Lee to frown.
The two trees grew until they reached the roof of the building.
Elder Muti and Mr. Lee jumped from theirs, while Godfrey detached himself from his, causing it to wither. He was now missing a leg!
He willed with his mind causing the cells at the stump to multiply and regenerate the lost leg. Except for the tattered trouser, his leg was as good as new.
"Oh! You have brought this rat? What about the other members of your association? I am pretty sure that they are stronger than it!" A voice caused Godfrey's expression to go dark.
"Leo, your days are coming to an end and you still have the time to ridicule me?" He countered.
"I am not insulting you. Its the truth! You are weak! If am not mistaken, you haven't learnt anything about energy channeling, right? That means that the elder didn't want to tell you." Leo was standing beside his wife, arms crossed beneath his chest, with a fearless grin on his face.
When Godfrey heard that, he moved his gaze over towards the two elders and gave them a deep look.
"Don't try to sow discord among us! Mr. Godfrey here has come for revenge, there's no way he will join your side no matter what you try." Elder Muti said.
"Oh! I don't remember doing anything to him that would warrant his revenge." Leo stroked his chin as if he was deep in thought.
"How can you not remember refusing to help my grandfather when his DNA was unravelling all those years ago!" Godfrey shouted at the man with a frenzied look in his eyes. His agitation was clear for all to see.

Plus this is my first time working on this sort of thing. So if you're ok with all of that, read along. Of course, comments and feedback are always welcome. Update 7 June 22: Life has been busy with family and work so this is a very slow updating story, for which I apologize (I like to read too).

But Umbra isn't the hero everyone wants her to be. Updates will at least one chapter every two days. Notable Location Poliagoras. Poliagoras is the most important world in the Fabric partly due to it being the centre of everything both literally and metaphorically. Trade, commerce, travel, and politics are all conducted primarily on Poliagoras, it has the biggest city in the fabric stretching to cover almost the entire world. It also holds all the known Great portals in the Fabric which are the only way to travel to other worlds. Even without these things, Poliagoras would still be the most important world in the Fabric as it is home to the largest population of Favoured. They were mages chosen by the Deities and given the potential to become more than mortal. I cannot overstate how appreciated constructive criticism is. This is the first story I have written of my own volition so even a small comment on how I could improve would be great. The current title is most definitely a working one. I know it isn't great.
