RB Chapter 58 What Happened?
Monday, 5th, July, 2199.
In the northeast corner of the circular Kampala city, about a kilometer away from the northeast gate of the city, a person was pacing in the middle of the road.
She was female, wearing body hugging jeans and a vest with the bands of her bra visible at the holes of the arms. She had short hair, blue eyes with electrical sparks bouncing in them.
She wasn't beautiful, but passable nonetheless. Her face was currently adorning a dark expression and she was mumbling loudly.
Her boots kicked at a puddle of water, scattering it. It was pouring heavily, and the sky was gloomy. It was just 7:00am in the morning.
"Why is Baguma not back yet? This is my chance to challenge him and take my place as the ruler of the Masanyalaze clan!"
"What the fuckin' hell is taking him so long?"
"The time for the undertaking has come and I should be by the elder's side fighting! Why do I have to wait here where there is no action?" She was mumbling loudly, but since it was raining heavily, there was little chance of her voice spreading far. Her entire clothes were soaked and her short hair which only came down to the tips of her ears was dripping with water. The torrential rain contained strong gusts of air but she wasn't being blown to the ground by them.
"Hmmm!?" Even when she had been mumbling in dissatisfaction, she had never once removed her attention from the far side of the road away from the city. And that's why something obscured by the rain entered her vision.
It was too far away but she decided to wait as she knew that it would eventually reach her.
She crossed her hands and held up those magnificent jugs. You could only say that they were phenomenal all on their own. She stood in the middle of the road.
"I don't care whether its Baguma who is coming or not, I will take out all my frustrations on them." That's the decision she ultimately made.
But a few minutes later, she couldn't go through with that.
The silhouette she had spotted had reached about 20m away from her and she had finally been able to make out who it was, but she still couldn't believe her eyes!

It was a boy, a teenager, he was clad in fur clothes which had been made crudely. They were stained with red and it appeared to have dried a long time ago seeing as it wasn't being washed away by the rain.
He had short hair and dark blue eyes which were currently soulless. He was trudging along at a slow absentminded pace and it looked like he still hadn't noticed her. His right arm was missing from the elbow down and a long scar was running diagonally down his face. It ran from above the left eye, passed in the middle of his nose and continued down to pass through the right side of his lips.
"E-Eric!?" She hesitantly called out causing those soulless eyes to shift towards her.
A chill ran down her spine the moment those eyes turned to her.
'What has this boy experienced?' She gulped down a mouthful of saliva.
She had been away from the clan even before the boy had been unveiled by Baguma and this was her first time meeting him.
But she had been provided with intelligence of what had been going on. Even his photos. That's how she knew that the boy who had darker eyes than Elec was Eric.
The boy only gave him one look before continuing to walk. It was like she was inconsequential.
'He dares ignore me!...' She was about to get enraged, but looking at his condition, she decided to let it go.
His face was adorned with wrinkles and his expression made him look far older than he really was. It was like he had aged up over the past few days!
'What happened out there? Where's Baguma and Elec? Are they taking another route and sacrificing him?' The question which appeared in her mind caused he to pull at her hair in frustration.
"Why are you alone? Where are the others?" She shouted.
"Dead." Simple, concise and calm. That was how his voice came out.
"Dead? Are you kidding me? How could he die that simply?" She ran up to him and pulled him by the collar of his fur clothes. Her intense eyes looked into his cold dead ones.
They remained in a stalemate for about 4-5minutes, before she let go when she saw no other words were coming out of his mouth.

"What really happened?" She asked after calming down.
"They died. I don't want to talk anymore. Who are you?" His expression and the look in his eyes never changed.
"I don't believe that they are really dead, but I will introduce myself since it would be rude not to...my name is Chloe Masanyalaze."
"Never heard of you." His reply was sharp.
"I will kill this brat!" She grinded her teeth and muttered.
His eyes narrowed slowly causing a chill to run down her back once again. Since she wasn't paying attention to him, she missed it and instead looked around warily.
'Could it be that something very strong us targeting me?'
"Anyway, we need to go back into the city. The ten clans are going to fall on this day."
That raised his eyebrows. But he didn't say anything.
She walked in front while he followed behind.
'I will avenge them! I will get stronger!' His hands clenched into fists as he walked behind her.
-------
The woman had been right. The moment they entered the gate, he could hear booming sounds and sounds of wailing people above him. It was coming from inside the Njovu clan building.
(Boom!)
A piece of concrete fell to the ground from above with such force that it shattered into pieces upon landing on the tarmac. Something was on top of the shattered concrete.
It was something which was utterly disgusting in Eric's eyes. It was an ant, but it was as large as a person. And the way it appeared, it probably could stand on two legs and the other four were its weapons.
The humanoid ant stood up and regarded the two. The fall from that high up and with such force hadn't been able to kill it.
"What is this?" Eric had no choice but to ask. No trace of fear was contained in his eyes.
"Oh! This is one of the creations of that woman, Kiwuka. I hate her, she's disgusting! And she also creates these disgusting things! I wonder why the elder even has someone like her in his employ?"
She cracked her knuckles and delivered multiple punches in under a second, creating multiple holes in its body, thereby killing it.
"So, did you join elder Muti's faction in order to dethrone Baguma?"
"Wha-what are you asking? Did Baguma never tell you, I was his greatest competitor to the throne of the Masanyalaze clan."
"Why did you join the elder? If I am not mistaken, he's going to make sure that he removes the ten clans. If you are Baguma's competitor, then there's no way you would agree with the elder."
"Before I met the elder, I was naive, but then the elder showed me the outside world. You see, Kampala city is isolated or you could say disconnected from the rest of Africa. The ten clans, specifically the clan leaders are hiding information! The rest of the world has developed and gone further than us! People way stronger than us are making legends, while we, without any connection to the outside world, are like a stagnant pool of water." Her eyes had a burning glow. It looked like she was yearning to meet all those powerful people.
"I want to reach the level of those people and create a legend for myself like them!"
"We were frogs at the bottom of a well." Eric had a far away look when he said that.
After which he shook his hard hard.
'No no no, I will eventually reach that creature's level and then surpass it!' His eyes gained a tiny glow in their deathly stillness.
Chloe had looked back and seen his expression.
"What really happened?" She asked once again.
"Its better if you never know. Let's just say that the world outside of the well is cruel and will give a lot of people shock and terror." He left behind that cryptic sentence and continued followind behind her.
No matter how she tried to ask about Baguma, no answer came from him. Eventually they walked out from under the massive arch formed by the Njovu clan headquarters.
Battles were raging everywhere in his vision. It was mostly between the people and the large ants.
"If this is all that the association has, then how will they win?" Even though the ants where ferocious, they were too weak to take on the clan leaders.
"Their numbers are in the 100,000s, plus we have our trump cards!" That made Eric open his mouth a little in shock!
