RB Chapter 53 Clash Of Wills!
Eric woke up at around 2:00pm. A lot of his body's energy had gone into repairing the damage which had been done to his back. Minute fractures had appeared on his durable backbone, a testament to the speed of the collision!
"Good afternoon, we are back to square one...(grrrr!)...scratch that, square zero!" Elec' s voice was the first thing which entered his ears upon waking up, plus his rumbling stomach. It was like a thundercloud had been hidden inside.
"My back is okay now!" He said in surprise when he stood up. He tried bending in multiple positions but there was no inkling of pain.
"Elec, we have to become like ravenous savages if we want to get a meal here. That's the conclusion I have come to!" He said.
"What do you mean by that?"
"We have to go at each prey as if its our life on the line!" Eric walked out of the darkness and into the light.
"Let's go! We are going to war! We don't come back unless we take down prey!" Eric declared. His eyes were having a certain intensity to them. He walked out with sparks of electricity flickering in his dark blue eyes.
'Its better to die fighting than of hunger!' That was the creed he was going by at this point in time.
They passed by a bunch of rhinos as they headed deeper into the city. All of them were either in groups or too close to their companions. Even though they were getting ravenous, there was no point in throwing away their lives due to idiocy.
They hid when they couldn't continue and moved when the attentions of the beasts shifted.
"How many rhinos are in this city? So far we haven't seen any other creature!" Elec complained. So far they had only managed to move 1.5 km in almost forty minutes! That was too slow!
'We need to find a beast, my stomach can't take another growl!' Eric's eyes darted around from scene to scene. Anything suspicious was scrutinized and interpreted by his brain which had gone into overdrive!
'Food! Food! Food!' The chant was going in in his mind.
Something other than the rhinos finally managed to enter his sight. He almost doubted his eyes upon seeing it!

"Is what am seeing true?" He asked Elec who similarly had his jaw dropped.
"That is most definitely not an illusion!" Elec denied vehemently!
What had appeared in their sights was a chicken...or what looked like it. The only difference was that it was a bit bigger and it had little beady eyes with a honeycomb like structure resembling that of the rhino they had tussled with a while ago.
It was perched on top of a collapsed house at the top of the only intact wall.
Eric didn't even consider anything else, after all, lunch had appeared in his vision!
He jumped onto the window will of the wall they had been hiding behind!
He kicked off with such force that he was launched into the air like a canon ball! Cracks spread upon the wall and it toppled down. Its life had come to an end!
Elec had followed after Eric before the wall collapsed. The two boys had been consumed by hunger!
Eric's feet landed on top of piled up rubble, but he didn't even pause, kicking off of it to one again propel himself forward.
The chicken like creature only noticed the two boys when Eric kicked off the second time. It stood up and gave a call which Eric took as a warning.
But he didn't care, right now, he was wringing out what was left of the energy in his cells, powering his body up for this! Some were drying up and being devoured by the nearby ones to replenish themselves.
His eyes gained a red tint and tiny electric sparks slithered along his skin!
When he reached near, he gave a powerful tap to the ground and leaped up onto the roof occupied by the chicken.
Midair, the chicken attacked! It flapped its wings and kicked off the roof with its legs heading for the airbone Eric!
Down below, in the house whose roof it had been resting in, were three eggs which spotted hairline cracks. Its chicks were about to hatch! It couldn't afford to let these two creatures interfere, so it came down with a rage!
It poised its head for a lethal peck! It was headed for Eric's chest!
But he didn't care, right now, he was using the last of his energy! If he failed here, he wouldn't be able to move! His entire body was screaming in pain! A little red had even risen up in his dark blue eyes.

Whistling of the air was heard as the beak moved! They were just a few centimetres away from each other!
Eric's right hand shot out at a fast speed and caught the beak! It had been so fast that Elec hadn't been able to capture the motion.
'Its like he's burning his life force!' Elec thought. He had just jumped into the air a bit behind Eric.
The momentum of the bird caused Eric to spin around in midair with the its beak in his fingers which had tightened like a vice around it!
He spun clockwise and tossed the bird towards Elec who was mid air. Their teamwork was showing!
He hadn't gotten a very good grip so he was tossing it to the prepared Elec.
The chicken saw a sense of crisis! It spread its feathers, with the edges facing the boys. The feathers at the edge of its wings were ejected like throwing knives towards the boys!
They failed to react causing the feathers to puncture their bodies and proceed to pass through, causing blood sprays!
Eric and Elec grunted in pain, but they held it in!
Eric landed on the ground with the house at his back! He didn't let up for a single second! He wanted the fight to end faster, so, ignoring his injuries, he once again leaped up to face the bird which was still midair.
This time it didn't take any chances! It launched a multitude of feathers towards him. Elec had slid backwards and was going to attack again, but currently, he wasn't the threat! This creature which had placed itself in the path to its eggs was the threat!
Eric pushed his senses and muscles to their highest performance! Equal to when he faced the twins! The consequences didn't matter if he didn't get to eat!
The feathers appeared to have slowed down in his vision but the truth was that his brain was processing information at a speed greater than usual! Everything else was ignored as he swiped at the feathers which were aimed at his vitals! The others, he just left them!
The state lasted up to when he arrived near the bird, proceeding to capture its neck in a vice like grip, using his bloodied hands as conductors to pass a very high voltage current into its body.
The chicken's neck was as thick as a normal human's thigh and its body's width was at the length of his forearm! But even though he was using one hand to hold the neck, he had clasped it in a vice like grip which was digging into its neck muscles!
The creature wasn't one to take it lying down, even as electricity jolted through its body, it kept is wings beating eratically and firing feathers in all directions.
Eric had used up all his energy and exited that special state, so he faced the brunt of the attack and even his vitals didn't survive this time.
The chicken and the boy both plummeted down towards the ground. The chicken, in its last deathroes had been flapping its wings to remain airborne, now that it had been died, the two plummeted.
(My...babies!)
Eric's mind which was slowly shutting down managed to catch a stray thought from it.
His eyes were getting blurry but he managed to vaguely see a burly figure under him with outstretched arms.
------
He was currently in a white space. Nothing else was with him, only occasional sparks and arcs of electricity.
(My...bbbbbbbb...!)
Such words were the only ones he was managing to catch. The last word was incomprehensible!
"What is that voice? And where am I?" His voice formed echoes in this space.
"Boy!" Another voice echoed within this space while Eric was puzzled. It was female, like the first one, but powerful.
"This must be one of the first times you are unlocking this dream. I am essentially, the other half that led to your creation." The voice said.
"Hah!? Wait! Wait! Wait! Aren't I just from Baguma and Lisa?" Eric was startled!
"I know you must have questions, but I can't interact with you. Am just like...inherited memories? Something like that." The voice continued evenly.
"..." Eric was rendered speechless!
TRIVIA
Epigenetics: The study of inherited changes in genetic code. It is what is happening to Eric, but, but tampered with! I can't explain it well without giving spoilers, but just go with the vagueness for now.
