RB Chapter 35 Fisherman
"I got angry at you there, my bad!" Ivy moved a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. Her chest was rising and falling rapidly. She had gotten worked up.
"Why...should...I...go with you?" Elena asked. She was still hiding in the shadows of the staircase.
"To save you, of course! Your mother is currently in a bit of a pickle. If you are caught, it will be game over for both you and her. I have a daughter too. I wouldn't wish for something bad to happen to you, when I too am a mother." Ivy calmly said.
"Come out! You filthy rat." She raised her voice here.
"Wha...?!" Elena thought that Ivy was talking to her.
"Not you! There is this creepy person stalking you."
"Hey! hey! hey! am not a stalker...am more of a fisherman. She was just the bait...and you are the big fish!" Someone walked out into the darkness. It had become darker after those few seconds or minutes that Elena had been chatting with Ivy.
Even though it was dark, the two women all used their abilities to figure out the identity of the person.
"Godfrey! It looks like you have resolved yourself to antagonise us!" Ivy only turned her face to Godfrey. Her body was still facing Elena.
"Godfreyyyyy!" Elena practically hissed the name. Her voice was dripping with hatred. Her hatred towards Godfrey far surpassed that she had towards Ivy, the person who heralded today's events!
"Now! now! Missy! There is no need to glare at me like that. You were the key to the coming change! I just had to make you turn the lock of change. Well...I don't really care about change! All I want is vengeance. And since you helped me lure in a big fish, I won't kill you!" Godfrey was visibly excited.
"I...want...to kill you!!!" Her voice was low but it had the chills. Her glowing yellow eyes almost wanted to bore holes through the man.
"Kill! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! You are weak! Too weak! This woman was right about one thing. Those little boys and girls who praised you, practically treating you like a queen got your ego inflated. You shouldn't blame the woman here. Actually, you started all this! You are the one who went to confront those protesters without a care for your true place. which is, a mere child still studying! If you didn't attack them, they would have attacked you! Even if this woman hadnt plotted against you, Do you understand now?" Godfrey asked.

"It looks to me that you are also overestimating yourself. Fishing? You are trying to catch a shark with your meager strength?" She laughed as if she was looking at an idiot.
'I need to be cautious!' She had honed her battle instincts in war. She could feel a faint palpitation in her heart. This man wasn't simple!
That's why, even though her body appeared relaxed, her entire muscles were storing momentum. Just like a snake coiled its body in preparation to strike!
Kizike was simply standing there with his hands in the pockets of his lab coat. It was white. He had finally managed to secure clothes which were copies of the Ines he had been wearing before they were destroyed in the battle.
"You do know that it won't be a good idea if we fight, right?" Ivy's vertical slitted eyes had narrowed.
"For you mostly. Not me." Godfrey denied.
"Now let's get this over with." He said as he cranked his neck.
His eyes had never once left her figure but the moment he blinked, she appeared just inches away from him.
Before he could even register a change in facial expression, a palm had been placed on his chest! If you looked under his clothes, you could see that ripples were propagating outwards on his skin as he tried to dissipate the massive force.
His chest sunk in as his body was propelled backwards by the force of the blow.
Ivy had appeared in his earlier place still in the posture of launching the attack.
'She is strong! If my body wasn't special, my heart would have ruptured!' He exclaimed in his mind as he was tossed all the way out of the alley, across the street and crashed into a store. Some bystanders in the way had been crushed into mincemeat! A testament to the power of the blow!
The inner wall of the store managed to halt his momentum but it had large cracks running through it!
'It felt weird! His heart didn't rapture.' Ivy wondered she had withdrawn her posture.
"Is...he dead?" Once again, that soft voice was heard. It looked like the roar had damages her vocal cords extensively. And since she lacked energy, her cells couldn't recover the damage.
She asked because she wanted the guy to pay!

She had gotten out from under the stairs and she was holding onto them to support her body. She felt as if she would collapse if she let go.
"He is definitely alive! If am not mistaken, he didn't even sustain any injuries." Ivy answered calmly.
'This battle is going to take time. I need to get back to my cute Leah.' A wrinkle appeared on her forehead. It wasn't visible in the darkness.
"Elena. This battle is going to last a few minutes." Ivy declared before removing a case from her bosom. Upon opening it, there was a syringe containing yellow liquid. It was sloshing around inside.
"I don't know what that guy injected you with, but I think right now you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I can't give you an ATP shot. I don't know what kind of drug you were injected with. It might lead to your death if I give your cells energy." Ivy explained as she looked at the sloshing yellow liquid.
The lights on the side of the buildings had turned on.
"That sure packed a punch!" Godfrey's voice could be heard at the end of the alley. Some bystanders even poked their heads in.
"That is the fugitive! Call the police!" One among them shouted. It looked like he had good eyesight.
Godfrey didn't stop them. He didn't care. Right now what was important was to kill the first target! Her!
His lab coat had been torn. Even the suit which had been underneath had suffered the same fate.
'Kill! I must make sure that I kill her! Even if I have to expose all my strength!' His heat sped up and his body enlarged with every step he took.
By the time he reached two meters away from the two women, they were dwarfed by his height.
He was around seven meters tall. His clothes had split into pieces upon his transformation. He looked like an ape. His skin was covered in a dark fur which was standing up in some places. It was like sharp spikes. Mostly the back and shoulders.
Sound leaked out of his mouth every time his monstrous form exhaled.
"Today, you are going to die." His voice leaked out if the gorilla's lips.
"He can...talk!?" Elena was so surprised that she fell on her butt! It was the first time that someone had kept their intelligence upon transforming...the first time she had seen it!
Ivy had already I injected the contents of the syringe into her blood stream. She wasn't intimidated in the slightest even when standing in front of this monstrosity. She had faced monsters more terrifying than this in the past.
"Elena, would you move over to the side?" She asked calmly. All her concentration was on this guy.
Elena silently crept back to her hiding place.
Godfrey and Ivy simply stood in place as they waited.
The red eyes of the gorilla were trying to spot any weaknesses in the woman.
His arm moved, you could say it blurred...the right arm.
All Ivy saw was a fist had appeared in her vision and was rapidly enlarging!
Scales emerged from underneath her skin. Glittering, while reflecting the light. They were emerald green in color. She also spread her right parm and placed it in front of herself. It looked like she wanted to block the punch with her flimsy hand.
Godfrey's eyes widened in anger and he increased the speed!
When the powerful punch landed on the palm, the skin rippled and the ripples propagated across Ivy's body into her feet.
The high heels she was wearing shattered and she sunk into the ground.
A massive noise was heard as the pavement shattered. She sunk into the ground up to the waist! Cracks could be seen having spread with her as the center!
'She transferred most of the force. But now, she is stuck in the ground!' He didn't lose his calm. Instead he was coming up with another attack!
He tapped his left foot a little, and he appeared in front of Ivy in an instant!
He drew back his right leg and kicked! He was aiming for her head! It was a horizontal kick! Since her legs were trapped in the hole, it would be hard for her to dodge!

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse.
