RB Chapter 28 Exposed!
A few seconds later...
A vertical chasm, with a few wriggling strands of what looked to be flesh, were trying to interweave together.
A yellow pupiled eye with a vertical slit could be seen peeking out from the chasm. It was wide open, with a look of horror etched upon it! Even a few strands of what looked to be orange hair could be seen dangling in front of the eye.
As the chasm sealed itself, the eye was forever closed off from the world!
The vertical closing chasm was running from the chest to the stomach of a certain human.
"They truly were a handful! They even had molecular dividing weapons!" A hot breath was released from Godfrey's mouth.
His clothes had vanished and his toned body had appeared in all its glory. Except for the closing chasm on his stomach, which was creepy, he was normal.
"I need to get some combat experience! If my body wasn't special, the first attack might have killed me!" He raised his hand and strikes his chin while mumbling.
Except for cracks in the concrete, the entire roof if this building was spotless, as if all that blood and gore had been a dream.
"Now to search for that girl." He absentmindedly said while looking at the pile of weapons on the ground. They had been the hidden weapons if all the Cheetah squad. Daggers, needles, knives and many more!
"I first need a change of clothes, plus I need to get rid of this trash. How am I to do all this?" He asked himself.
-------
A shudder ran through Elena's back as she beheld the scene under her!
'This is bad!' She thought.
A very large crowd had formed opposite the building she was currently standing on. Right across the street from this building, was one emblazoned with a roaring lion head. It was heads and shoulders above the others!
The headquarters of the Mpologoma clan, stood in all its majesty!
Elena quickly crouched near the railing in fear of being detected. This was the biological era! Many people in the crowd must have had far vision.
'What now?' Her heart was beating at an accelerated pace, her breaths were becoming laboured. She hadn't panicked when she was on the run since she was sure that her mother would save her. But now that the way home was blocked, she felt like a large weight had been placed on her chest.

The sticky blood had long dried. Right now some of it was even flaking off her skin. It was like some parts of her body were coated in a red paint including a potion of her face.
'Should I wait for the Cheetah One squad?' She looked back and saw that no one was coming. She was sure that if they had managed to escape, they should have already arrived as they were far faster than her.
'What should I do? What should I do?' She wondered as she snuck a peek down into the crowd from the railing.
The crowd was sizable and yet, more were still joining! The police was also intermixed within the crowd.
According to what she speculated, no one was allowed into the building, or out!
Her hands clenched and her teeth grinded as she viewed the crowd below. She felt hate that such weaklings would band together to make life difficult for her.
-------
Within the crowd, there were reporters. They were searching for a scoop, nosing around here and there. This event was a competition to the various forms of multimedia. They wanted to be the ones to capture hot news before any other station.
Multiple talented crew were on the prowl, using the latest technology, to try and determine the suspect's location.
In one van, a certain male had headphones in his ears as he fiddled with a glass touch screen device.
"This invention of mine combines my genetic talent with technology. I will beat out the other stations to the scoop! Mmmm...mmm...mmm..." He mumbled while humming a tune.
On the screen of the device, you could see that it was split into multiple angles.
Each, was focussing on a different angle. You could see the crowd in one, the road in the other, the roads leading here, and others. Some were even watching the crowd from high above!
"Mmmm...mmmm...mmmm...hmmm!? What's that?" His mumbling was cut shot when one of his moving cameras caught sight of a certain individual on top of a building across the street.
He mentally transmitted a signal for the camera to move in closer. As it moved closer...
"Hohohompf!" He hurriedly covered his mouth and looked around viglantly, after which he bent his head closer to the screen to confirm what he had only caught a glimpse of before.
'I am going to become famous! Hahahahah...' A silly grin appeared on his face while he laughed uproariously in his mind.

The image was of a girl, brown hair, covered in dried blood donning the Mubiri high school uniform! Who else could it be, if not the fugitive!
"Now how to spread the live feed! I must make sure that I guide the people towards her!" He wracked his brain.
"I will air it on television and also simultaneously play it on an online site!" His eyes lit up before tapped furiously at the keyboard!
His humming continued and he even started moving his body along to the song playing in his headphones.
---------
(Breaking news!!! Our channel has managed to capture the suspect responsible for the massacre of citizens on camera! As you can see, she appears to be crouching down on the roof of the building looking at the citizens blockading her path!)
"What!?!? She has been found by the reporters? Now she is truly going to have a hard time running away!" Elec shouted as he moved his face closer to the screen of his phone.
It was currently 2:45pm. They had already showered after school and they were lazing around in their room.
Elec had been surfing the web for any news about the incident. A pop up had appeared on his screen and he had clicked on it leading him to the breaking news.
"She is crouching, she truly looks filthy. Her hair is dishevelled and she is also covered in dried blood. How she has fallen!" The words weren't stopping spilling out of his mouth.
Eric ignored him. He was also watching the same live feed.
"Haaa..." He sighed as he looked at her sorry sight.
'These are the consequences.' He shook his head. Eric was sure that someone had plotted against her but no one would believe her even if she came out and confessed. Besides, she had her pride and ego, there is no way she would explain to the people she viewed as weaklings.
------
"It looks like the Cheetah squad failed." Lena calmly commented as she looked at the livestream.
"Now what other plan can I adopt!?" She had her hands crossed atop her desk as she mulled over her next course of action.
-------
"Shit??? How could such a thing happen? Now we can't intervene!" A voice cursed.
It came from one of five burly men seated in a vehicle.
The vehicle looked like something which was a military facility. It was covered in a black thick outer shell with holes in the windows.
They were all clad in black skin tight suits. The inside was dark, except for a single screen showing the live feed.
"Those reporters are like a dog to a bone. There's no way they would lose sight of her unless something drastic occurs. What do we do now captain?" Another one asked in a deep voice.
"We will follow closely, but we will stay inside the van and follow the police. Once the feed is lost, we will move in to save her! But we must make sure that the public never suspects that it was us, or else the situation would become complicated." The captain who was the only one occupying a seat at the head of the car exhorted.
"YES SIR!" The rest of the squad, composed of four more people answered with vigor.
---------
'Hmmm!? How come they are coming towards this building?' Elena thought as she looked at the crowd.
The people who had been blockading the Mpologoma clan headquarters started race across the street towards the building she was on.
Multiple genetic powers were being put on display as the faster ones took the lead.
One launched a string from his palm and pulled himself towards the building.
Another jumped, and directly passed over the road! It was like he had springs for legs!
Another moved at speed so fast that it was equal to that of Cheetah One when she had not injected ATP into herself.
There were a variety of means! Showing that the people of the ten clans weren't the only powerful ones.
Elena froze the moment she looked over the railing down the building!
'They are coming!? But how did they find me?' A million thoughts called to the crashing of her mind! Running away was currently not even among the thoughts!
Her fingers simply tightened on the railing as she watched the crowd below climbing the building.
'I need to run! Right! RUN!' She awoke from her daze and turned on her heels. Her legs almost gave way!
She had to place her left palm on the ground to prevent her face from crashing into the concrete!

The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.
