RB Chapter 20 Start of a Storm
It is currently 8:00pm
It is a time for dinner for the Masanyalaze family!
Baguma was currently having some minor shock! His son, who always sat opposite him, had changed seats and was currently directly opposite Lisa!
Eric was the one seating opposite him, and for some reason, he was eating quietly.
He always ate with gusto, but now, his head was lowered and he was trying not to look at anyone.
Lisa and Elec seemed to be having the time of their lives as she constantly added some food from the side dishes into Elec's plate.
Elec was the one currently eating with gusto!
He refocused back into his plate after calming down. This change didn't exactly matter to him. What mattered the most was the clone! Everything and anyone else was inconsequential.
(Today, we have a special guest! His name is Godfrey Kizike! Some of you might not recognise him but you do know that his clan used to be part of the ten clans!)
A hologram appeared on top of the meal table!
Eric, who had never seen it appear almost rose from his seat startled!
The others had been captured by the contents that they didn't notice.
Lab coat had appeared on Tv! His signature bird's nest like hair could be seen.
He was dressed in a suit and it fitted him perfectly. He was in the midst of adjusting his glasses when the camera moved to him.
Any news relating to the ten clans was given priority by the A.I. It was set that way by Baguma.
(So, tell us Mr. Kizike! How are you?) The female host asked.
(I am fine! Thank you! Rose!)
Rose had black hair cascading down her back. It was so black and glossy that it was shining.
She was beautiful, as all the television personalities were! Even in this era where you could order around your cells to make yourself beautiful or have the perfect body, she was a cut above the rest!
(Your clan used to be one of the ten, so what made you change your mind about regaining that position and instead joining the 'Abolishment of the Ten Clans System Association'?)
That gave all the people at the table a look of shock! Baguma even frowned heavily! He and the others had been of the thought that the Kizike clan was going to challenge one of the ten to reclaim its position!

(Rose! You see! Being a part of the ten clans shouldn't give you the right to oppress the public! What we want is to remove the ten clans as the ruling party and return the city to the hands of the public! They can stay with their clan system, but! The power must be taken away from them!) Godfrey's eyes beneath those transparent glasses seemed to be burning when he delivered that speech.
(I have about some of the complaints of the public, like for example, going out into the wilderness is strictly under the control of the ten clans! They are the ones who choose who goes and who stays! Is that true?)
(Unfortunately, yes! This is because their clans are located at the edges of the city and all the management of things in their land falls to them! That is one of the things our movement is going to be fighting for!)
(That is shocking to hear even for our viewers! Most of you watching don't try to go out of the city thinking 'why would I go outside to die when its peaceful inside?' But almost all the things you use daily require resources outside the city! Isn't that a shock! If, hypothetically, the ten clans closed the gates without the public's input! How do you think you will be able to survive?)
"This woman must be part of that movement!" Baguma commented. He had calmed down. To him only getting to become stronger mattered. Whatever twists happened in the outside world didn't so much as faze him!
(A certain viewer has posed a question! Would you mind answering it?) The host seemed abnormally excited. She was staring down at a data pad on the table with gleaming eyes.
(Sure!) Godfrey was as calm as a cucumber in contrast to her. His legs were crossed and his hands were folded on the table.
(A certain viewer, who wants to remain anonymous has a question for you, "How come you decided not to join back into the ten clan system? Could it be that you hold some sort of grudge against them?")
The host once again directed her sparkling eyes towards Godfrey.
(That's a good question!) Godfrey unfolded his hands and once again adjusted his glasses.
(Many of you must be thinking like him, but! I assure you! I am not doing it for revenge! On the centrally, when the Kizike clan was pushed out of the ten clan system, we managed to see its flaws as bystanders! That's when I reached enlightenment! That the system was outdated! I am prepared to stand with you all to remove this unfair rule!) His voice had raised by an octave.

"Only certain idiots would believe him." Baguma commented calmly.
(You are right! This system affects all of you! After getting some inside information, I was welcomed to the reality that the Mubiri school, is the most funded in the entire city, it has all the resources other schools lack...but only the children from the ten clans and their affiliates attend! What right do their children have to feed on our taxes? Ours aren't important?)
She had become worked up. Even some spittle was flying out of her mouth.
After that passionate speech, she sat down to cool down. The program entered a temporary lull.
Of course the audience didn't complain. Most were mulling upon the revelation.
Even the Masanyalazes had paused a little to digest the information.
'She is absolutely right! This system needs to go away, but! Public opinion isn't enough to dethrone the ten clans.' Eric shook his head on that thought.
'Wait! How can that movement be shallow! It must have spent many years in the making and according to that Mpologoma guy, they have someone who can match him...if that's true, their unknown combat potential might be capable of rivalling the ten clans! But here comes the question!? How did they accumulate such power under the watchful eyes of the ten clans?'
Eric was turning, calculating and deducing the information in his mind.
(We have decided to stage peaceful demonstrations, so that we can plead to their conscious! Tomorrow! We are going to camp outside the headquarters of the ten clans! We are asking the general public to support us in our endeavour!) Godfrey had stood up and was bowing low.
'Oh! A great tactic! Stoking their anger and then providing a target to release it out on! Genius!' Eric had pure admiration for the man's tactics.
'But the problem is going to come when they truly decide to attack! Protecting my master is my priority! So I won't spare anyone who tries to harm him, civilian or otherwise!'
Eric turned to stare at Elec to his right only to see Lisa adding a side dish into his plate.
A prickly feeling emerged in his heart before he smothered it.
Baguma only gave Lisa a cursory glance before standing up and going outside to handle clan matters.
He had left his meal half finished. He wasn't worried about the attack but the entire clan was probably panicking.
(Mr. Kizike, we have unfortunately come to the end of our talk show. Thank you for enlightening us! If you want any more information, go to the link indicated on your screens. Have a good night!).
After that, the hologram was switched off.
'I don't want to become a sacrificial pawn in this war, but my slavery might cause me to die!' Eric sighed wistfully while looking at the mother son interactions.
Lisa had totally ignored him the moment she made up with her son. It caused him some strange never before felt emotions but he surpressed them. He convinced himself that this was good for his master.
This night wasn't going to be peaceful...mostly for the ten master clans as all had to reassure their members and affiliates.
Baguma's had just arrived in his office and was in the midst of answering call after call!
Mr. Lee, who hadn't been around was also here answering some while forwarding important ones to Baguma.
'Chaos is coming! I must ride it like a wave to rise!' Baguma thought as he ended another communication. His eyes were glittering like stars!
The stage had been set! The rise and fall of multitudes was in the making!
-----
Godfrey had just exited the broadcasting building, his hands were in his pockets and he was waiting for the arrival of his car.
He was humming a tune while waiting. He was clearly in a good mood. The first part of the plan had started...oh you could say the first bullet had been shot.
'Who cares about the weak riffraff! As long as they ignite the flames for my revenge, who cares if they all die?'
Such a thought passed through his mind as he directed his eyes towards the moonless sky. A creepy grin was plastered on his face!
