RB Chapter 19 Reveal!

"Even though I don't like that girl, you have to sincerely ask for her forgiveness if you want to continue your friendship with her."

Lisa advised after hearing about what happened.

"I think she won't forgive me this time!" Elec was almost crying.

Both mother and son were seated side by side on Elec's bed with Eric opposite them.

"That is true. Even I don't think I would forgive you, but, you have to try! You have to ensure that your sincerity gets across! You will have to figure out how to go about it."

She advised while stroking his hair.

A smile was on her lips as she looked at her son. Finally, she could talk to her son like this! Just that thought was enough to bring her endless happiness.

Eric felt as if his heart had gotten heavier when he saw their interactions. He yearned to have someone like her...a person who would exclusively give him their entire attention.

That feeling caused his heart to become heavier. It was like they were both in a bubble and he was the only one left out of it.

'What is this feeling?' He wondered as he looked at the warm scene of their interaction.

"I need to go to the bathroom if you will excuse me." He said before standing up.

Lisa looked at him once and nodded before shifting her attention back to her son.

Eric leaned against the door the moment he entered. Tears slid down his face without him understanding the reason.

After seeing that interaction, he knew that he lacked someone like that! Someone who would be a parent...someone who would love him...someone who would comfort him at his lowest...someone who would support him no matter what he did...someone who would give him advice...

His tears continued falling while he was lost in his thoughts.

---------

Its currently 5:00pm the same day.

At the southern part of the city, specifically, on top of the wall, a burly figure could be seen standing there looking out into the lake.

The setting sun wasn't obscured by clouds. It was giving the waters of lake Victoria an orangeish glow.

The figure atop the walls is Baguma and his goal here isn't to enjoy the picturesque view but to meet an acquaintance.

"Baguma!!! Its been a few days! The experiment was born a few days ago, but it took you this long to see me?"

A very powerful mental flux had connected to Baguma's mind and he could feel its torrential rage.

The mental flux originated south of the city, specifically the lake!

Even though it was raging, he maintained his stoic expression. If you were spying on him, you would think he was simply admiring the scenery.

The city wall was about 50 meters tall and 5m thick.

Baguma had his hands behind his back as he endured the strong mental flux.

"It's just a few days! There is no need to get angry after all we are partners! There is no way I would betray you!" He answered mentally.

"I will let it go this time! But I hope it never happens again! This experiment is important! The theory of those light skinned humans in the north is why this experiment was created! If it succeeds, both of us will be able to evolve further!"

"Yes I know! If I evolve further, I will be able to get everything I want!"

A glow of yearning could be seen in Baguma's eyes! Even one of the hands behind his back was clenched tightly!

Baguma had many things he wanted to attain or to do but, he was limited by his strength! If he tried to get them, the people more powerful than him would stop him!

One day, around 20 years ago, he had been standing at this exact same spot when a powerful mental flux had connected to his mind

"Do you want to evolve further?" It had asked.

That question had led to Baguma finding a random woman, then he allowed his seed to cause her pregnancy. He then obtained some of the fetus' cells and cloned them.

Of course he didn't just clone them, the partner he was in communication with decided to give him part of its cells and he added them to create a genetic chimera.

"It seems some turmoil will be started by some parties in the city...it will be the best time to test the experiment without it leaving the city." Baguma said.

"Oh! Is that truly the truth, or do you not trust me?" It asked.

"Why would I trust you? Give me a reason? I trust myself the most! Not anyone else!" Baguma answered without even a shift in tone.

"Hahahaha...that's why I like you human! You will never betray me for as long as you can become powerful!" The voice chuckled to itself before vanishing.

--------

The twin cubs, who had been taken to have fun, were just coming back into the apartment! It was currently 6:00pm.

They were welcomed with silence. No one was in the living room, even their father who was usually happy to see them wasn't here.

'It seems that spat is serious!' Both thought as they felt as if their hearts were becoming heavy.

For as long as they could remember, there had been no argument that big in their family, but this one seemed pretty serious.

A door opened and Elena came out of her room. Her head was lowered and they couldn't see what expression she was making.

"Sister!" They shouted as they skipped over to her. They were doing their best efforts to put on bright smiles.

"Oh! You are back! Did you have fun?" She asked as she raided her head. A strained smile was on her lips.

"Did you make up with dad?" Karo asked.

"It isn't so simple." she said as she made her way towards the refrigerator.

"Can't it be solved by talking it out?" Wasswa asked.

"No! You see our views are just too different! Let me ask you! Would you like to go with dad and live in the wilderness or would you like to stay here?" She asked while searching for a snack.

Everything in the fridge was either meat, or milk in various different forms.

"Of course to go with father!"

"To stay as a family!"

They each gave different answers but they both yearned for the one Wasswa had said. To stay as family!

"We are past that! Take me for example! Why would I stay in the filthy dangerous wilds? Here, we are at the top! We rule over the weaklings! Getting whatever we want! But! The wilderness! Let me ask you! Where would our hierarchy be? We would be at the bottom of the food chain! Here! Humans can be controlled in our hands, like zoo animals! But there! Any random beast can kill you! It won't take into account your status! But here! Even people more powerful than me have to think,'If I kill her, only trouble will come out of it!' And then, they wouldn't do it!"

She was almost out of breath after saying such a long piece.

The twins were deep in thought! They were considering her words seriously.

"Think about it! Here you can bully whoever you want but out there, you would become the bullied! Even though father is strong, I don't think he can fight an entire colony of mutated ants if they attack!" She continued while dipping her spoon into milk in the form of ice cream.

"The point is..." She licked the spoon while her gaze became intense.

"...we have gotten used to being on top. I don't want to let all that go just to wander the wilderness like a barbarian!" She completed while scooping out another spoonful.

"You are right! I have also decided that we will stay!" A gentle sounding voice entered their ears.

"Really!" Elena jumped up excitedly.

"Yes!" A smile was gracing Lena's lips.

"But your father refused, so we separated!" She continued.

""What!""

The trio were shocked!

"Yes! He will probably go back to wandering the wilderness!"

"How can this happen!" Kato freaked out.

"Mother, is that really enough for you to separate?" Wasswa, the calm twin asked.

"Yes! I am like Elena! Managing the affairs of the strongest clan is exhilarating! Imagine it! You can have everything because you own a large percentage of resources! Multiple weaklings in the palm of your hands! Just a command and multiple people would move to complete it! How can anyone choose to let go of this!"

Lena's face had a really creepy smile. Kato and Wasswa shivered when they saw it.

'Is this really mother?!' Wasswa wondered in his mind.

His sister...he could understand! But his mother! It was like she had been hiding behind a shell all this time and now had become the time to unleash the inner self!

'Mother's smile is scary!' Kato shivered. The gentle woman they had known all their lives was gone!
