RB Chapter 6 The Duel
'My master lost to these two? I can't underestimate them!'
Eric psyched himself up. All his concentration was placed on the two.
Due to him concentrating on the two, an electromagnetic sensing capability allowed him to read their thoughts through the fluctuations released by their brain waves.
His DNA was spliced with the genetic code of a shark. A shark sensed prey through weak electrical signals they released. He had such an ability too and it was amplified by the electrocyte cells he had.
But due to him wanting to win, his focus had led to his cells giving birth to this ability.
[We should first bombard him with sound! He's within range!]
As such a thought registered in Eric's brain, he jumped backwards and exceeded 100m range of their ability.
It was just outside of the range the sound they released would be dangerous to him.
They and some spectators who had an idea of what the twins were going to do were taken aback.
'Was that foresight...? It must have been a coincidence!'
Lab coat denied the thought the moment it formed.
When Eric jumped outside that range, he also found out that he couldn't detect their brain waves.
'It seems I will have to close in, but what about the sound?' He wondered. He was also just discovering his body's capabilities as he fought.
This was just a spar and ATP shots weren't needed since they didn't want to fully transform.
The twin's thighs bulged as they gained muscle mass. Due to the cells of humans having cancer like traits, they could split relatively fast if provided enough energy.
"Kato! We need to finish this battle in two minutes, or the cells will start devouring each other due to a lack of energy!" Wasswa shouted loudly.
They had gained the leg strength of the lion, but magnified a few times to the level their skeletal systems could handle.
They kicked off the ground causing it to cave in as they instantly appeared just 5 meters away from Eric.
A brief look of shock crossed his face for 0.1 seconds.
The moment they had kicked off, his thought process and information calculations in his brain had reached the level of speed of electricity. It was only possible due to him briefly making his nerve cells gain the traits of electrocytes.

Everything slowed down in his eyes.
Before they even managed to open their mouths, he sensed it through their brain waves and instantly thought of a counter.
'I can only last in this state for ten seconds, after that , I will weaken.'
His immense calculation capabilities had allowed him to instantly know that.
He increased the electricity coursing through his body and moved!
No one saw what happened clearly.
All that they saw was that, Eric had appeared where the twins had been and they had passed by him to fall to the ground convulsing. Their skin was charred and smoke was even rising from it.
Their hair was a spiky mess with some of it singed.
Eric was no better. He had stopped in place with steam rising from the pores of his body, a consequence of electricity running through the body. He was lucky the water didn't split into its individual atoms, or the heat would have killed him.
Elec didn't even hesitate to jump down and race towards him.
Leah had followed.
The twins had long lost consciousness and lab coat was currently notifying the health unit via his device.
The school had its own hospital.
Leah and Elec were standing infront of Eric but were at a loss if what to do. His skin was also charred and dry in some places.
He had lost over 90% of the water in his body to evaporation.
He looked like a dried husk. He had lost consciousness so all they were left with was to wait for the medical unit to arrive.
'It must have been about 1000V of electricity, interesting, a human body can release that much? That guy is going to be a pain. Good thing he also injured himself. We have to get rid of him before he grows!' He was looking at the frozen in place Eric with malice in his eyes.
He didn't care any bit about the three students' health! If they died, it would have been good, after all they were part of the ten clans he reviled.
"Elec, don't worry he will be okay! Let's wait for the medical team to arrive!"
Leah tried to comfort him.
"Why would I care about that! All I care about is they might try to get samples of his DNA! I can't allow that to happen!" He whispered while standing close to her.

The spectators had been in an uproar the moment the match was decided and ithey hadn't calmed down even now!
Leah widened her eyes upon listening to him.
'Even though he is a clone! You should care about him!'
She wanted to shout at him but her upbringing and not being related to them in any way prevented that.
Even though she looked at marriage through the eyes of a shopper who only wanted the best product, she was kind at heart.
'He defended his honor but all he cares about is his genetic information being stolen? He is simply being treated as a thing not a person. That seriously is heartbreaking'
"What happened to the little cubs?" A sonorous voice rang out silencing everyone in the arena.
The medical team had arrived and was in the process of placing the three students on a stretcher.
A rhythmic sound was coming from one of the entrances into the arena. Everyone who heard the voice knew from whom it came from.
Due to the way the sun was shining, golden heels were the first to be seen, then the dark..Ohhh so long legs.
The signature blood red skirt of the school uniform which stopped at the knees came into view followed by the white shirt.
The moment her slitted yellow eyes came into view, all the medical staff, Leah, Eric and lab coat froze.
Terror had appeared in their minds. It was like a savage beast was looking at them.
It lasted for an instant but, they all had perspired profusely.
That girl was simply too scary.
Her name was Elena Mpologoma, the older sister of the two cubs and a sixth grader.
She simply walked over with a slow rhythmic gait.
"Oh! They were in a duel! Who won?" She asked as she gave each of the others a look except the medical staff.
Her long golden brown hair danced in the wind, mesmerising Elec.
There were three goddesses at school but, only she was unattainable.
Her condition was for one to challenge her fair and square and win, an impossible task.
"Leah pointed to the dried out Eric in the stretcher!"
"Then it must have been a draw!"
She said before she turned and walked away without checking on her little brothers.
"That woman is cool!" Elec leaked a compliment.
"She is still technically a girl!" Retorted a dissatisfied Leah.
The age limit for an adult was 20 years and had been raised from 18.
After she went away, Elec vehemently refused to return to class and instead followed Eric to the infirmary.
"All he needs is water and ATP and he will be good to go!"
That had been the doctor's assessment of Eric's situation.
Eric was outside the door guarding against any suspicious people. He had only allowed the doctor in. Nurses weren't allowed in.
Most of them were spies of other clans, even the doctors. The one doctor who had come had been placed by the Masanyalaze clan.
Genes in this new era had become so important that they were closely guarded. It had been even reached the point that a failsafe was encoded that led to the break down of any DNA that left the body.
Of course, some methods could be used to bypass it.
--------
"He forcefully increased the metabolic speed of his cells with electricity, thereby achieving such phenomenal speed in such a short period of time! Amazing!"
Baguma, who had just watched the battle live, was now trying to deconstruct it in his mind.
One of the students from a surbodinate clan had used his device to offer him a chance to watch the battle live.
None of the people had been able to suspect that he had foresight. Those who did, immediately denied it.
"I can also do it, but I had to add a genetic sequence from a certain organism, losing one of my editing slots. If I can add his DNA to mine in the future, I will be able to add his abilities without having to sacrifice my slots.
[Slots> number of times a gene can be edited.]
"I need to keep seeing if he will awaken any more abilities. I hope they are ones I don't have!" He could see the rise of his powers in the near future. Reaching the level of the Mpologoma clan had become attainable.
He was alone in the office. Mr.Lee was nowhere to be seen. He had sent him on an errand when he received notification about the battle.

Which was a nice way of saying his soul was sucked through space, torn and shredded, and shoved into a conceptual body.ie, he appeared in the Hall of the Gods suddenly. Without clothing. This would have been simply an amusing anecdote if he wasn't then instantly yanked out of the Hall of the Gods by a person who appeared to be cos-playing a cross between a plumber and accountant. Oh, and he had a grip like iron and could freeze the other gods at will. A small detail, but a concerning one.Now Dale is forced to deal with being a God, a Dungeon Core, and act as the lynchpin in a divine universe jailbreak attempt.Oh, and of course, the Gods still have all the drama that you would expect.
