《What would you do if you suddenly fell in love?》Chatting with Charlotte

Motionless because of the sudden question, Sian said stiffly. "It's the first time I've heard about this."
Taking a sip of tea, Charlotte proceeded calmly. “At the time, the oldest son of Marquis Palaques was in charge of the army, but luckily he managed to escape and immediately sent a messenger to contact us. He called for a ceasefire, claiming it was for a greater good.”
"Greater good?" Sian asked.
"Yes, he claims that the one who destroyed the army was Nervrathan, The Insane." She said.
"Strange..." Sian was doubtful about what he heard. "At this point, he should still be hibernatin - Kulhum - I mean, there's a possibility that it really was him.
After all, his title says it all, Nervrathan, The insane, whenever he wakes up he does absurd things, these dragons are really ruthless.” He shook his head in disapproval.
"Although the Marquis' son claims that a dragon attacked, no one actually saw one. All survivors reported almost the same thing." She said.
"And what would that be?" Sian asked apprehensively.
"They say the attacker was a human with slightly brown skin, about 1.80 cm, slightly curly black hair and wore a ragged brown mantle. The Marquis's son also added that his eyes were light brown.” She said without taking her eyes off Sian, as if she wanted to catch all his expressions.
Trying to act normal, Sian took a sip of tea and said. "To describe even the eyes' color, they were really paying a lot of attention."
"He said he had a Birdkin subordinate, of the hawk species." Charlotte said, still examining him.
Ophilia inadvertently turned with a suspicious look at Sian. It was understandable, after all, the appearance described was exactly his when she met him, even his eyes, that was too much of a coincidence to be true.
"Don't look at me like that, I'm 100% human, I swear on the honor of the Goddess Zenobia." Sian said, puffing out his chest.
But even after he made a promise under the name of a God, she still seemed to have some suspicion.
Trying to convince her otherwise, he said. "All dragons can turn into humans. And according to some books, that description matches exactly his.”
"The Marquis's son said the same thing." Charlotte said with a knowing smile.
Looking at her anxiously, Sian asked. "And what did your investigations show?"
She took a sip of the tea that was almost cold and said. "Maybe it's really him."
"In fact, the moment I heard the description, I thought it was him." Sian spoke confidently, as if the anxious look from before was just an illusion. "Leaving the extermination of the army aside, how about we start the procedures for adoption?"

"Of course, as I already know your information and you seem really sincere when you say that you will take good care of her, I will make an exception for you." She turned to the receptionist and said. "Margarida, could you go get the child?"
“Of course, My Lady.” The receptionist turned and left the room.
Ophilia's eyes filled with tears, probably with happiness at being able to finally see her daughter.
Realizing this, Charlotte said. "I know you must be eager to meet your daughter, but I need to remind you that I will not force her to go with you. It's up to you two to convince her. But if she doesn't want to go now, you can come here regularly so that you can bond with her over time. ”
"Being able to find her is enough." Sian said with a smug smile. "I have several ways to convince her to come with us."
"In that case, I wish you luck." She said.
“Out of curiosity, why is there such a large orphanage in a small town?” Sian asked.
“This is because the city is close to the border and many children in the surrounding villages lose their parents because of the war. That's why even though Solaris has only 5,000 inhabitants, the orphanage is large.” Charlotte replied.
"I understand that, but isn't it dangerous for children to be in a place that can become a war field at any time?"
“You don't have to worry about that. We have a fortress just ahead to prevent the army from moving forward. And even if the fortress falls, we still have enough time to get them out of here.” Saying that, Charlotte breathed a little sigh. "Personally, I'd rather take the kids from here to another city, but Mom said that wouldn't be good. She said I have to let them see the reality, since they won't be able to stay in the orphanage forever.”
"You seem to really like children." Sian said.
"Is it possible to not like them?" She said with bright eyes. "Just look at those little arms and legs, they are so cute."
"Indeed, indeed." Sian said, nodding his head several times in agreement. "You can't forget the baby fat, it's so good to hug and squeeze."
“Fu fu fu.” Charlotte laughed strangely. "It looks like we have some things in common."
"Indeed." Sian stated. "They may not be as well structured as yours, but I also built several orphanages in my duchy."
“Ku ku ku.” Laughing in an even more weird way than before, she crossed her legs and put her open hand covering half of her face. "It seems that fate has gathered us here, my friend from a past life."

Imitating Charlotte's posture, Sian smiled. “I don't remember a past life, but getting together today was really a work of fate.”
She stood and lifted the cup. "A toast to our meeting today and to all the children in the world."
Sian also stood up and raised the cup. "A toast to all of this and especially to my daughter that I am going to meet today."
*Tinnnn*
The sound of the beating cups sounded and they immediately turned all the tea down their throats.
"So, what else do you like about children?" Charlotte asked excitedly.
Sian and Charlotte continued talking excitedly about what they both liked about the children.
But shortly thereafter, they were interrupted by a throat clearing and turned their heads simultaneously to the butler who was standing beside a maid who had not been there before.
"It's understandable that you're both excited to meet someone with similar tastes, but I must remind you not to act like this in public." The butler continued. "Although you don't have ill intentions for children, outside people will certainly think differently."
"I think we really got a little excited." Sian said.
"True, we will restrain ourselves next time." Charlotte said. "Now that I realize, Margarida is taking too long."
"Probably the child was among those who went out to play in the river." The butler said.
"That must be it." She turned to Sian and said composedly as she picked up a cookie recently brought by the maid. "Do we still have anything else in common?"
"How about cooking?" Sian said.
"I don't know how to cook, but I love to eat." Charlotte said excitedly.
"Well, everyone likes to eat." Sian said as he took a cookie. “But I understand what you mean, it's not just about eating, it's about enjoying all kinds of foods. I don't really like to cook, but rather the end result, which is...”
"Delicious food!" They spoke together.
“Ku ku ku, it looks like we still have a lot to talk about.” She said. "Although I don't know how to cook, my butler is an excellent cook. These cookies were made by him."
"Though it's made with simple ingredients, it's still very good, but I know a way to make it even better." Saying that, he took a sauceboat out of the magic bag and placed it on top of the center next to the cookies.
Seeing the white sauceboat, Charlotte asked. "What's inside?"
Sian took off the lid of the sauceboat and it had a dark brown liquid inside. Ignoring the curious looks, he took a cookie and stuck it in the brown liquid and took it straight to Charlotte, who instinctively opened her mouth.
“*Munch Munch Munch*, Hmmmmm... That's delicious!” Charlotte said with shining eyes.
Sian took another cookie and did the same as before, but this time he went to Ophilia, who looked a little surprised, but still ate the cookie.
"Delicious!" She said.
Watching the scene, Charlotte took a cookie and did the same as Sian. But this time it went to the butler, who seemed reluctant to open his mouth, but in the end, he couldn't resist.
After tasting, the butler looked slightly surprised. "Interesting, by the taste, I can see that Your Lordship is quite qualified as a cook." Saying that, he approached the center. "With your permission."
Doing the same as the others, he dipped the cookie in the brown liquid and brought it directly to the maid's mouth, who seemed to be very nervous about the situation to the point of literally wanting to turn her head to the other side.
But unfortunately for her, the butler seemed determined to make her try it. Without giving her a chance to turn her head, he grabbed her mouth with one hand, making it beak and stuck the cookie in with the other before she could react.
Sian, who only observed the situation, noticed a look of jealousy on Charlotte's face, as if she wanted to be in the maid's place.
‘Oh, isn’t that the famous love triangle mentioned in the Sacred Treasure?’
The butler turned to Sian. "May I know the name of this recipe and who created it?"
"It's called milk chocolate, I bought this recipe a few years ago. It was really a challenge to find the main ingredient." Sian said proudly.
"Can you give me the recipe and the main ingredient? Just say the price." Charlotte said enthusiastically, grabbing both of Sian's hands.
Seeing this, the butler only sighed as if he disapproved his young lady's behavior.
"There is no need to talk about money, just treat it as a favor among friends." Sian took a bag of grains, a small booklet, and a jug of more chocolate from inside the magic bag.
Seeing the booklet with several recipes, Charlotte almost drooled. "Is it really okay to give me this?"
"No problems." Sian said.
When he was about to speak again, he realized that the receptionist had returned and seeing the child who came with her, he was surprised.
