《What would you do if you suddenly fell in love?》A mother's concerns

Hearing Ophilia’s words, Sian's head was deep in thought along with the desire to know what happened to his parents.
'One day I will discover the truth ... ’
Looking into Ophilia's eyes, he didn't rush her to continue and just stroked her face.
After a brief pause, she continued, “After giving birth to her, I had a lot of free time, Mrs. Tanya did not allow me to do anything. Even if I wanted to, she always said that I should first recover from childbirth and just take care of my daughter…”
Watching her face, even though the room was dark, Sian could see a look of gratitude.
“Even though I didn't know anything about taking care of a child, I still tried my best. I was woken up several times in the middle of the night, but even though it was exhausting, it was still gratifying. I was always happy when I had her in my arms.”
It was possible to see the tenderness contained in her expression.
'It seems that she really likes her daughter... Was my mother the same?'
As if it were just an illusion, the affectionate face from before disappeared, replaced by a bitter expression.
"But there came a time when I realized that I had forgotten something important, I was a slave for sexual use who lived in a brothel..." She said sadly, "If my daughter grew up there, what would become of her?
Would she become a slave too? Would she be forced to become a prostitute?”
Her eyes filled with tears again. "I was very afraid of what would happen to her... I didn't want that for her... I thought I wouldn't be a good mother even if I tried my best... So..."
She stopped for a moment and hugged Sian even tighter. “So I thought that if she lived far from that place… Away from me… She would have a better life… But that couldn't be decided by me, even if I was the mother...
I took courage and told Mr. Badonis what I thought. And I think out of pity for me, he left me with the choice of what to do with my daughter... He even gave me advice and recommended me the orphanage recently opened by Lady Charlotte, he told me that they would take good care of her there...”

Sian, who had listened quietly until now, finally opened his mouth. "I don't have children, so I can't say that I understand your pain, but I think any mother would have done the same as you... Listening to your story makes me feel a little relieved..."
After a brief pause, he quickly said, "Don't get me wrong, what I mean is that my parents may have gone through a similar situation where they had no choice but to abandon me for my own good... Thinking that way makes me feel more at ease, makes me think that they care about me..."
"Maybe you think so, but I'm a weak woman. After delivering my daughter to an orphanage, I spent many nights in the clear... Even today I still have nightmares..." She said.
"It just proves how much you love her. If my parents love me as much as you love your daughter, I would certainly be very happy..." After a pause, he said. “When I bought the Sacred Treasure, Pamamo told me a phrase that I will never forget, ‘The hardest choices require the strongest wills’.”
He looked deeply into her eyes. "Don't let yourself get down for it, you are not a weak woman, you needed all your courage to do what you did."
Hearing this, Ophilia took a deep breath and said, “From the moment I knew I was pregnant, until the night I slept with you, I was not with anyone else, I just worked in the kitchen and helping to weave. Before, you said that I could be more selfish, but that is not appropriate for my position…”
With a determined expression, she looked directly into Sian's eyes, who were staring at her. "So I've decided that I'll do anything for you, even if you want me to die, I'll die without resisting or questioning, but in return, you can hear my only request?..."
“Even if you want to, I don't intend to let you die. If that happens, who's going to take care of your daughter? Or should I say our daughter?” Sian said, smiling as he caressed her cheek.
Ophilia looked at him in surprise. "Could it be-"

"That's exactly what you're thinking." Sian said before she could finish speaking. "Tomorrow morning we'll look for her at the orphanage."
“... Ar-Are you serious?” Ophilia's voice trembled as if she wasn't believing what she heard.
“Yep.” He used his thumbs to wipe the tears from her eyes. “100% serious, you just have to say what city she's in and we'll pick her up tomorrow.”
Perhaps because of emotion or happiness, tears welled up in her eyes again and she said in a tearful tone, "The orphanage is here in Solaris."
Sian was surprised, "I never expected to have an orphanage in such a small town."
"That was Lady Charlotte's idea." She said.
“She again... It seems that she is very committed to making changes in the marquisate.” He said.
A bit thoughtful, Ophilia said, “I heard that she preaches that children are the future of the nation, so she created orphanages in practically every city in the marquess and basic education for children without parents and even for children from poor families…
That's why I decided to hand my daughter over to the orphanage... If she received an education, even without a family to support her, she could manage when she grew up...”
Sian stroked her forehead with his index and middle fingers. They glowed slightly blue, then a rounded purple mark appeared on her forehead and dissipated shortly thereafter, releasing a light blue mist.
Noticing the blue mist coming out of her head, Ophilia was surprised.
"You don't have to be surprised." Sian smiled, "There is no way to let my wife be a slave, right?"
"So many good things are happening to me..." Her voice shook while she seemed to contain the crying. "This... Can only be a dream right?..."
Sian pinched the tip of her nose and said, "What do you think?"
Hearing Sian's words, she could no longer contain herself and cried loudly.
'That must have been a big burden for her...'
Not having much to do for her at the moment, he just hugged her while stroking her furry ears and hair.
It took a while for her to calm down again, but it looked like she didn't intend to sleep.
"You need to rest." Sian said.
“I... I am not sleepy…”
"Are you afraid to sleep and then find out that everything was a dream?" He asked.
Ophilia's body shuddered and she just nodded.
"This is not a dream, I can assure. You need to sleep or when we go to the orphanage tomorrow, you will be with dark circles, you don't want to be seen like that, do you?"
Even with Sian urging her to sleep, it still took her a long time to fall asleep.

The next day, Sian woke up when he felt the weight of Ophilia's head lift off his arm.
Although it was still very early, she was already awake.
'She must be very anxious.'
Seeing the back silhouette of Ophilia, who got up from the bed and was heading for the water jar, Sian started to feel excited.
'Her ass is very sexy, so round and soft, looking like this makes me want to rub my face on it.'
'Too bad that her tail is between the legs, so I can't see much...'
'Wait, this is not the time for this.'
While trying to calm down before his little boy got up, he said, "You woke up pretty early."
Being surprised by Sian's voice, Ophilia, who almost dropped the jar, turned to him. "Did I wake you up?"
"No, but I don't think the orphanage has opened yet." Seeing the dark circles under her eyes, he continued, "Looks like you couldn't sleep well..."
"Even though I tried, I couldn't sleep..."
"Something like that was to be expected," Sian smiled and stood up towards her, "After all, let's look for our daughter today."
He put his thumbs just below her eyes, the moment he did it, his thumbs shone slightly with a white light. "First, let's get rid of those dark circles."

A Primeval Future
Follow the story of a modern caveman as he learns to survive, thrive, and shape his nascent civilization in a world yet untouched by man. Expect a focus on the nitty-gritty of primitive living, especially early on. I plan for this to eventually progressing to the settlement management and politics stage as people gravitate towards the one guy who looks like he knows what he's doing, but this will likely take some time. Despite the occasional system elements, skilling and levels will not be a part of this story. No shortcuts. There will be violence and there will be sexuality but there will be no sexual violence. I hate reading that crap and I hate writing it even more. This is my first serious foray into writing. I plan to put out at least 1 chapter a week, more when I can. Constructive criticism is very much welcomed as are ideas and suggestions! Cover image credit: "Mesolithic camp site" by Wessex Archaeology is licensed with CC BY-NC 2.0.
