《Vyndra Stories》A name

The break would last for two months. During that period, planned to train his creature, he had not given it a name yet, but it carried the random generic name, the breeding process was quite hard, he could get sick, or hurt during training, even die, if he was not careful enough. They were virtual creatures, but from their inception to entertain, a few hundred years ago. It can be said that right now and under the recognition of all the intelligent species of Vyndra they are considered "living" beings, after an incident that almost led all of Vyndra to a technological setback that would have been terrible to everyone. Still, now they are part of society.
If I wanted I could raise more beasts to build a team and thus compete in the tournaments that are held every six months. Still, right now I only did this to have something to do, and when I passed this idea through his head, he weighed that it would be more critical, of the moment, train to hone your control over your ability.
After spending a few hours with his not-yet-named comrade, he decided to let him do whatever he wanted for the rest of the day, in case combat will come up and need help, he'll send him an alert.
Then eating something he lay down for a moment. He still had a feeling of heaviness in his chest, after crying so much a few days ago. Since then, he often remembered his last days on that nameless planet. Back then he had the idea that they could have a better life if they travelled to Vyndra, but none of that happened ... he patted his face and stood up. He decided he was going to cut his hair.
Once outside his apartment, he activated augmented reality, immediately sought information about where there would be a hairdresser, and followed the path that appeared marked as a White line in his vision.
Since he arrived most of his time he was in the center and his room, since would have everything necessary to live, didn't need anything from the city, so it could be said that he was getting to know her now. She connected the breeding apparatus to her network and allowed her partner to accompany her on her journey, thanks to augmented reality, she could see her next to her. This is how fighting between breeders was carried out.

He arrived at his destination an hour later, nervously entered the premises, and waited to be called.
As gifted, he had a badge that identifies him, and everyone could see this. So he was forced to activate augmented reality every time he left his home. He entered the network, and all his steps were followed and controlled. Tom didn't notice, but there were a few nervous glances that went to him. The gifted were an essential part of today's human society, they were obliged to provide military service to the colonies, they were strategic resources, and some could be so powerful that they considered weapons of mass destruction. To the best of their knowledge, those were only the tip of the iceberg.
He spent time playing with his partner while choosing the cut to be made, then he was called, a creature approached him and invited him to follow him. He sat in the seat he indicated, and a message came to him in the corner of his vision, asking if he wanted a robot or one of the employees to cut his hair. You chose to be an employee; you didn't know what this choice did because you wanted some human contact.
When the employee arrived, his eyes were closed.
- Mmm... So you want me to cut it a little, are you sure?
Tom replied in the affirmative, shaking his head. I could feel him massaging his head as he moistened it. The woman noticed how the child seemed to fall asleep with this action. But I don't let him do it, however, tender this fact may seem to him. Told her to stay awake, Tom stunned opened her eyes and answered with a "yes" somewhat embarrassed.
It took about half an hour for him to finish cutting and Tom went out on the street again.
As he walked, he noticed that in a plaza there were people who were fighting with his creatures, looked at his partner and seemed anxious, nodded his head making him understand that he also wanted to show his strength. He approached the spot, observed some fighting, and then launched the challenge, prepared some tactics and items, and I wait.
Fifteen minutes passed, and a boy of about 18 accepted his proposal.
- How do you want to fight, do you want to bet something?

- only one round, with no field limit. Up to the k.o, or the energy reaches 0 without betting.
- okay.
After the rules were set, the field was isolated, and the other creatures disappeared from his view, at this moment he could only see his partner and the opponent, the people around him, they could see their combat if they wanted. But for that, they couldn't let their creatures in so they wouldn't get hurt by the crossfire.
The opponent's creature was anthropomorphic, 1.20 tall with a cone hat, an arm that appeared to be made of straw and wire, and holding a sickle with his right hand, appeared to be of the fighting type. Tom's partner headed towards the center when seeing her some might think of a dinosaur; he has gems in some parts of his body that accompany some pieces of armour.
The combat began with the charge of Tom's companion, the small humanoid reacted with a jump and attacking with his sickle, in the air he aimed at the head. Still, his sickle did not make contact because its target ducked. With a turn, it responded by releasing a Breath of energy that impacted the falling humanoid, a small roar from the goblin was heard, Tom's partner is also quick and immediately tackled his target, which was sent away by the blow.
When a breeder launches a challenge, there is an unspoken rule that whoever accepts the challenge will be playing at a disadvantage, since it assumed that whoever initiated the challenge is basically on their field. But that does not mean that the challenger is doomed to lose. In this case, Tom chose a terrain without limits to take advantage of the mobility and speed of his partner. Their opponent was not inexperienced, in battle, the breeder cannot be heard, but that does not mean that they cannot communicate with their partner. In the breeder's vision, they can see a three-dimensional map, where they can draw or indicate orders and movements for combat, and it is also where they can locate their items for use. At this moment he noted to the goblin to get some breath back while preparing a fence that will be activated the moment he starts close combat, it was risky but liked to bet. When he saw that his opponent did not follow him, he assumed that maybe was also recovering from energy expenditure or preparing something else; he decided to aim for the former.
It can be said that an average breeder can guess the characteristics of the opponent's creature. However, this is true, and it is also quite ambiguous as new species are continually appearing and can develop unique abilities. Tom met his partner in a rather strange place. Part of the armor that grew on his body was due to the pressure and abnormal gravity that was in that place as far as he knew, his partner could be unique. This had quite shocked if he were right; this would be very good for his future growth.
His goblin closed the distance a few seconds later and immediately activated the fence. It was one with damage and paralyzing effect, so if his opponent accidentally hit or touched, it could lead him to victory. While this was happening the gem on his forehead, his opponent's creature began to glow, and the humanoid stopped before impacting as if it had frozen.
"A psychic movement," he thought. And he realized why the boy chose a field without limits. It was to make him believe that if he locked him up, he could win.
- It's okay.
- Okay. Thanks for taking the challenge.
- Well, thought later, I will challenge you.
- I'll be waiting
And so, with this short conversation, the combat ended. His partner seemed unsatisfied; he did not expect the match to end like this either, so he decided to stay in the plaza to see more challenges and participate in some. He fought twice and came back, on the way he remembered a word he had heard a few years ago. His father told him that it was the name of a mythological beast from the mother planet, so after searching for variations of it he decided that his partner would be called Drako, he seemed to like the name and Tom also, so he registered it.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
