Before going to my house, we dropped off at the small village where I met Clara to get some food for a banquet

When walking into the shop the women who was working there greeted me with a smile

It turned out that this shopkeeper is Clara’s mother, and she was so grateful that I saved Clara that she offered me everything for free from now on, I declined but said thanks anyways

“Oh! If it isn’t James you have grown up into quite the man, Clara was right with you, but I heard you were going to train at you fathers family house and wouldn’t be back in a while?”

“Ah yes well I have come back because my mother is giving birth”

With that little conversation I paid for tons of food and drink with the money Edward gave me and headed back to the carriage

Getting in we started to travel to the house which was only an hour away

While going there I started to point out at all the different things that were leading up to the house

Claire’s eyes were lit up, I’m guessing she never really had left her grandfather’s estate

While she was looking about, I was talking to Edward about various things

Halfway through the conversation the house came into view, it was certainly a lot bigger than the houses at the village we passed earlier

When I looked, I could see that a woman with brown hair was doing the gardening, that was Lize

She looked to the carriage and could see my face peeking out, she gave a smile and waved at me, I waved back

Getting off the carriage I could see that Scot who had just came running out the house was there

He was quick to bow to his father but was only given a small greeting

It seemed that Edward was not over Scot abandoning the house just yet

While talking away to Scot I could see Elizabeth poking through the door with a smile

I looked down to see that her belly had grown significantly

She waved at me, and I waved back

“How have you been mo.- “

I was cut off

“Aunt Elzy!”

The person who said this was Claire, she ran as fast as she could right in front of Elizabeth

Making sure not to press against her Belly Claire gave her a huge hug

It was truly heart-warming

“You sure have grown, especially you Claire”

Claire gave of some “fufu” noises while sticking her chest out

“Alright everyone let’s go in, it looks like you guys have brought some nice food so ill get Clara and Claire to help Liza prepare a feast”

When she heard the name Clara, Claire’s brow frowned

When she looked in the house, she could see a girl around the same height and age as her running towards the door

“James!”

The girl was shouting this while running right at me, this girl was Clara

She ran and jumped onto me making me tumble back as she gave me the warmest hug I ever received

When I looked around everyone was laughing besides Claire who looked at me with a bit of annoyance

After getting off me Clara greeted Edward and Claire

“Hello, my name is Clara I’m James friend and disciple, I also help Elizabeth whenever I am around, its good to meet you”

After saying that to them we headed inside while Clara was holding onto my right hand and squeezing it

It looks like she really missed me, well it can’t be helped

While we were waiting for dinner to be ready Scot suddenly asked me

“James come outside for a second I want to see how much you have grown”

When people heard this, they all looked over to me

“sure”

I answered that with a sigh, I was expecting this

“Remember Scot he is still just in beginner Rank, although he could beat any other beginner that is, go easy on him “

With a nod Scot got into stance, so did I

Everyone was outside spectating, I guess its fine to show off a bit

“READY START”

With Edwards roar the Spar starts, for now o won’t infuse any Form energy yet

Scot rushes at me with a dash and slices down

I dodge and get around his back while aiming for his shoulder

He dodges left and then back steps to gain distance

While he was gaining distance, I was already ready to leap at him

I charge forth with my sword to the side

Scot swings but I do something unexpected

I jump on his sword repelling myself up into the sky

Alright this is good, I infuse my Excalibur with my Fire form and slash down

While doing this Scot takes stance and grins, infusing his sword with the Earth Form

He intends to take my attack head on, a dumb decision

My raw power while I am using the Fire Form is on par with Gregory or so he says

My eyes widen

While I push down on Scot’s sword, he pushes with only his raw strength which makes me go flying

That was unexpected but I anticipated it would not be an easy fight, after all Scot is An Advanced Rank Swordsman

I defuse the sword with my fire form, I’m going to use my trump card although I have not been able to pull it off successfully before

I get into stance, and I hear someone to my right

“No James you can’t do that, the last time you tired you were blown back and bedridden for 2 weeks!”

While she said that Edward had a grin, he had seen me use this only once, but I had failed

While everyone was looking at Claire in confusion I got into stance

I can only do this once, only once and then I will run out of energy

I put my sword up to my head

At the tip of my sword, I start putting the energy of all 4 Sword Forms as the tip turns a dark colour

Scots’ eyes widen, but he infuses more energy into his Earth Form, he intends to take it head on

I hope he can survive this

Alright I can do this

I shout one word

“EXCALBUR!”

I slash down as all the energy from my sword is let out in a black stream rapidly approaching Scot, before he can react It had already broken his sword in half, luckily, he was out the way

He stands there stunned for a second looking at his broken sword

“Ha looks like I have won”

I say these words and my consciousness fades, I see both Clara and Claire running at me while Edward grins

I open my eyes to two girls sleeping on either side of my body and I start to smile

I never had this sort of thing in my old life

I had a normal family in the other world, but it never felt as warm as this

While thinking this Claire opens her eyes and looks at me and starts smiling

“Your awake! Are you ok?”

I nod and pat her on the head as she looks like she’s about to cry

“I told you not to use that move”

I know I shouldn’t have used it; it was a blunder, but it looks like it worked

While patting Claire on her head Clara opens her eyes and look at me and Claire and then jumps on me giving me a hug

“mnhhgf”

I make a groaning sound while Claire tries to pull her off me

Luckily, I had only been out cold for half a day and now it was night-time

Me Claire and Clara all slept in the same bed talking about our experiences over that past month until we fell asleep

The next morning Edward was laughing at Scot who was down in the dumps after losing to his 7-year-old son

After having breakfast, me Claire and Clara went around the outskirts of the village messing about

“Hey what’s down there?”

After pointing down a forest trail Claire started walking down there

“don’t go down there”

In an anxious voice Clara grabbed onto Clair trying to stop her

Claire turned around in confusion

“that’s the forest that the giant wolf was in, I would be dead if James didn’t save me that day”

When Claire heard the words “Giant Wolf” her eyes glistened up

“let’s go!”

When she said those words, I was dumbfounded

“Its fine we have me and James here nothing bad is going to happen”

after nagging us for what felt like the entire day we finally decided to go into the forest

while walking through the forest Clara started clinging to me, she was obviously scared

looking back Claire seemed a bit annoyed

After walking around and not finding anything Claire felt a bit angry, so she shouted

“Where the giant wolfs!”

My god what an idiot

I put my face in my palm and shake my head

After nothing happened after 10 minutes, I felt a slight bit of relief

“Alright this is boring let’s head be- “

Just when I thought we were going back something caught Claire’s eyes

“Look! Look!! James Look! There’s a stone monument over there!”

While being dragged by Claire and having to drag Clara who was shaking in her boots to the stone monument, I felt something was off

“Be careful I have never heard of there being a stone monument in this forest”

I told Claire who nodded but obviously was not paying attention

When going to the middle of the Stone Monument there was a diamond shaped crystal that was red sitting in what looked like a fountain

When Claire tried to reach out to it, I stopped her and told her ill do it, just to be on the safe side

She frowned but nodded

I know this is dodgy and I shouldn’t do it, but this looks like its worth a lot and it’s just sitting here

I take the red diamond and then hold my breathe

Nothing happened

I let out a sigh of relief and told Claire and Clara that we were going to get out of this damned forest

Luckily nothing happened and we were able to get out the forest and make it back home for dinner

When we showed the red shaped diamond to Edward his eyes Lightened up and he praised us, we also got extra portions of soup (the soup was amazing)

We went to bed with a warm smile on our faces

The next day was another peaceful day

Or so I wanted to say

Halfway through the night I was woken up to Clara tugging on me

I was half asleep and didn’t know what was happening

“Your mothers giving birth”

With these words I was instantly woke up and then me and Clara woke up Claire who was hugging her pillow

After telling her the situation she was also wide awake

We went to the living room, and I was asked to go to the village to get a doctor

It was in the middle of the night, so I was given an address and was told to give this letter and money to the person living there

I ran as fast as I could

It felt that my lungs would collapse when I entered the village

There was nobody out on the streets

Luckily the doctors house was right next to the shop I usually visit so I started banging on it which probably woke up the neighbourhood

When an old man opened the door, I apologised for coming so late and passed him the letter and money

He was still in confusion but after he read the letter his eyes got serious and told me to wait 5 minutes

After 5 minutes he was ready and had a bag on his back

For some reason this old man could keep up with my pace and we managed to get back to the house

Usually, it would take 2 hours to get there and back

It only took me 45 minutes for the round trip

When we got back Clara and Claire were on either side of Elizabeth holding her hands

Paul and Edward were to the side just spectating

“Father! I have brought the doctor”

When I said those words, Scot had a face of relief

“Good job James”

He said this while patting me on the shoulder

For the next couple hours, the screams of a women giving birth could be heard throughout the house until finally it was over

The doctor took the baby and announced

“it’s a baby girl”

Claire and Clara’s showed signs of happiness and took turns holding the baby

After everyone had a chance to hold the baby Elizabeth said

“Father since you are here would you not name her?”

“FUAHAHAHA IT WOULD BE A PLEASURE”

Edward took the baby and looked at it for a moment

“This baby’s name shall be Kelsie Wrathead”

That is a normal but good name, everyone was happy, and Scot paid the doctor more money than intended for doing a great job

After thanking the doctor and seeing him off Scot came back into the living room and started having a talk with his father

Lize was looking after Elizabeth who was taking a rest and Claire Me and Clara were watching over the baby

Overall, it was a very good night

The following day everyone was tired so not a lot happened, besides a few people from the village coming to say congratulations

The night before Me and Claire had to go back, we had a walk with Clara and Kelsie down to the village

“Your little sister is really cute James; I hope she calls me aunt when we are older fufu”

After Clara said that Claire got angry and spoke

“No, she will call me aunty”

Then Claire stuck her tongue out and they started arguing for a bit until Kelsie looked at both and laughed

They both let out a small giggle and we continued or scroll

I wish this day could repeat over and over

Is what I wanted to say until we heard a scream coming from the village

We were on the outskirts about to head home until we could see a fire coming from the shop where Clara’s mother worked at

“Mother!”

Clara screamed out running to the shop

“Clara don’t go there its dangerous”

It wasn’t me who said that it was Claire who was holding the baby

I told Claire to stay here while I went to go get Clara

While I was running, I could see more fire spread and I could here the screaming of children, women, and men

I got to the shop to see Clara crouched over crying holding someone

I didn’t want to believe it but that was probably her mum

Her face has half burned, and she had a scar down her belly, it looked like someone attacked her

“Clara its dangerous here we need to leave”

While I tried to grab Clara, I looked to my left and I could see a shadow of a man with the silhouette of a spear in his hand

I instinctively knew that I could not beat that man, I would be an insect to him if I tried to fight

Luckily, he hadn’t seen me yet, so I grabbed Clara covering her mouth and ran out of the village to the screams of helpless people

Tears were coming out my eyes as I could not save them, I could only apologise for being weak

When we got to Claire, she looked like she would pass out when she saw us

“Claire, we have to get back to my house”

“What about Clara’s mum?”

Clara was passed out on my back, I knocked her out so I could get her out of the village

“there’s someone in there who is killing everyone, I’m not match for him we have to get father or grandfather”

With the baby crying Claire give a nervous nod and we started heading back as fast as we could, but I had Clara on my back so I couldn’t run fast

“Do you think uncle and grandpa can beat that person?”

Claire’s eyes told me that she was terrified

“Probably not but we have no other choice”

When she heard those words, Claire gulped

“I’m surprised that Kelsie is not crying, what did you do?”

“I just rocked her back and forth, anyways now’s not the time we have to get back to grandpa”

With a nod I followed

When we got to the outskirts of the village my heart almost stopped

My house was on fire, and I could here the sound of an intense battle

I dropped Clara down and told Claire to wait here for the baby, I was not back here in 30 minutes you should run as far as you could, there was another village days walk south

“b-but I should come with you”

“No! this is not a game, just stay here and do as I say”

I shouted this and Claire froze, this is the first time I had shouted at her before

She stood there for a moment and then gave a hesitant nod

I thanked her and I unsheathed my sword and started heading up the mountain

When I got to the house I almost wanted to cry

I could see Lize and Elizabeth on the floor with blood staining their dress

When I looked to where the sounds of Swords hitting each other where I could see Scot missing 1 arm and a scar down his eye

“Father!”

when he heard these words, he looked in my direction, but he didn’t seem relieved

“Where’s Claire, Clara and the baby?!”

“They are fine I told them to run if they didn’t see me in the next 30 minutes”

While I was assessing the situation my Suspicions were confirmed

Edward was fighting a man who was towering over him with a spear

He was holding his own, but I could tell the man was not even trying, he was treating Edward as a plaything

“Listen James! That man, he’s dangerous he said something about a red gem and when we said we didn’t have it he killed Lize and Elizabeth”

While I was helping Scot up, we told me something that almost made me puke

“Leave me and father, we are nothing against him, but we can buy you a few minutes, take this pouch of money and this pendant, its your mothers, run as far as you can and make your way to Wrathead Estate”

I kept glancing at the Legendary fight that was going on behind Scot while listening to what he was saying

“James! This is no time for games, do you understand run!”

While saying this he gave me a big hug and went to join in the fight

“Take care of Kelsie for us”

I had tears running down my face, but I knew this was the only chance I would have to escape, I sheathed my sword and started running back down the Hill

I glanced back one to see Edward Looking at me and grinning

The next moment his head flung off

I clenched my fists while tears filled my mouth, I was weak, I was hopeless

I could do nothing to help them

That was a lie

They all intrusted me with looking after the three girls down the hill

This Is something I can do, for them and for myself, even if it kills me, I will get them to safety

I wiped the tears out of my eyes while i could see Claire with Clara and Kelsie standing where I left them

It looks like Clara had woken up

“James! Where’s Grandpa or Aunt Elzy?!”

“They are all dead, Father and Grandfather told me to run away and get you to safety”

“What do you mean dead!!?”

Claire almost dropped the baby

“I’ll explain everything later but first we need to get away from here or all the sacrifices would be in vain”

I said this in a serious voice, and both nodded

I took a hold of the baby to lift the burden on Claire and we began to run, we kept running and only took short breaks if necessary

We ran for 3 days straight, buying food and water at the local village shops with the money Scot gave me and slept in one-bedroom rooms in Inns

One night when they other three were asleep I reflected on that Scot told me

“Red gem”

I took the red diamond that I had got from the stone monument, and it clicked

My heart tightened as I realised that it was all my fault

If I hadn’t took the stone, then none of this would have happened

I couldn’t breathe I dropped the stone and almost fell off the bed

It was all my fault, I repeated this in my head, I ruined everyone else’s life

I felt like I was about to fall asleep and never wake up

Until I felt a warmth next to me

It was Claire

She was looking at me

“It’s not your fault, you know?”

She told me these words and then hugged me

She didn’t let go all night

These words stuck with me, and it relieved the pain that was in my chest

Even if it was my fault, I must take responsibility, I must get them home

Once we get to Wrathead Estate then everything will be fine, Gregory is over there he is strong enough to protect us, as I was thinking these things, I fell asleep

I woke up before anyone else with a refreshed mindset

I got ready and went downstairs to ask to rent a carriage, I paid the money and went back upstairs

I got Kelsie ready and woke up Claire and Clara, they looked terrible, I probably did too

We had told nobody about what had happened that night, but the news spread quickly, that a whole town to the north was wiped out by a mysterious person and that there were no survivors

The news had spread to the Wrathead house already, it was in a state of panic

What would happen to the family? Luckily Scots brother, Claire’s father took immediate action and sent out a search party

3 days later when we got to the territory of the Wrathead family we were greeted with relieved faces, when we got to the estate we were escorted quickly inside and were interviewed about what happened

I told Claire’s father everything, not missing out anything

Is what I would like to say but I did miss out something

I didn’t mention about the gem

After telling Stuart (Claire’s father) everything I went to see Gregory who was pacing up and down the hall

when I opened the door, he turned around instantly

“Thank goodness you are safe; I wouldn’t want my precious students to die”

He overheard that there was a mysterious man that attacked everyone and asked me what he looked like

I didn’t see the man’s face, but I told Gregory that the man was taller than Edward and wielded a huge Spear

When he heard about the spear, he put his finger on his chin and pondered for a moment

It was only for a second, just a quick second but his eyes bulged but they quickly changed back to normal

“Do you know who that person was Gregory Sensei?”

Gregory Shaked his head

“No, but the spear sounds familiar, ill have to research it more, anyways go check on Claire and that girl Clara they are with your younger sister in the lounge room”

I nodded and wandered into the lounge

When they saw me, they gave a smile and made space for me to sit down

Luckily the baby seemed fine, it had tokened a liken to Claire and thanks to her who looked after her niece a few years back she knew how to look after a baby for a short period of time

Claire’s mother has started to look after Kelsie though since she Is a mother herself

That Night the three of us went to sleep in me and Claire’s room

It felt warm

I felt relieved, I had done what father had asked me, I dosed off and had the best sleep I had in a while

Over the following weeks I was scared that the man would come back but he never did

Maybe it was because I hid the Red Gem in a special place before getting to the Family house

It was possible that the man could track it, so it was best to hide it away from here, in the future when I’m strong enough I will go dig it up again, and if it’s still there I will discover the mysteries of it

It’s the day of my 8th birthday

It’s sad that Elizabeth and Paul are not here to celebrate it with us, but I have Claire and Clara with the rest of the Wrathead family here

From Clara I got a history book on the ancient ways of the magic continent

I thanked her and gave her a hug; she blushed a bit

From Claire I got a new belt to hold my sword, my old belt was getting torn

I thanked her and gave her a hug; she blushed a lot

From the rest of the family, I got odds and ends, and I gratefully thanked them

From Gregory I got the recognition and the title as an Intermediate Rank Swordsman, I was the first out of Me Clair and Clara to get it, I sincerely thanked Gregory and with that I sparred him

I lost.

Dear mother and Father, It has been roughly 3 years since you left this world, me Claire and Clara are now all 11 years old and will be attending the kingdoms most prominent Swordsman School(Kingswood School Of Swordsmen And Swordcraft) us 3 are all well into our intermediate Swordsman Rank and are honing our skills for our upcoming Attendance test, this will determine what class we will be put in, each year (there are 5 years) have Classes from best to worst (S-A-B-C) only the elite of the elite are put in Class S) I’m hoping to be put in at least class a with Claire and Clara, anyways that’s it for now, if anything else changes I will tell you, goodbye, James.

I have decided to keep a journal of all the things i think about, this has cleared my mind a lot more and has helped me stay focused over these few past years

Anyways in 2 days me Claire and Clara will be leaving this place for 5 years, of course we will come back on our holidays and all that, but I still feel a bit sad

Clara has gotten to fit into the Wrathead house very well and often talks and helps Beth (Claire’s Mother) with the baby stuff

She has grown up very well since the time I saved her from that giant wolf

Claire has grown up as well, in many ways, she still clings to me like a little sister would, but she’s surpassed me in raw strength, I can only beat her when I infuse my sword with Sword Forms

I have also grown up quite a bit, I have almost mastered the Intermediate Swordsman Rank for all my Sword Forms, my most prominent Sword form is Ice, I have full mastery over it, it boosts my overall Physical and mental ability when I’m fighting, the Sword Form I must work on the most though is the Earth Sword Form though

It’s a bit strange since all Wrathead family are prominent in this Sword Form

Us 3 both still sleep in the same bed, but luckily, I think that will change when we get separate dormitories when we get into the school, as I saint before its one of the most prominent schools in the kingdom and even ranks as second in the whole world

The day before we head, we have a huge banquet with everyone in the Wrathead family attending, Clara has had her name changed to Clara Wrathead and is in paper my younger sister, she finds it fine so there is nothing to complain about

After dinner I go for a bath, while I’m relaxing, I hear the door open, I usually sigh its Claire who tries to sneak it with me, but to my surprise its Stuart (Claire’s Father) the new head of the Wrathead Family

“Can I come in?”

He asks like this isn’t his house

“of course, uncle there is no need to be so formal”

we both laugh while he gets in the bath across from me

its just silent for a while before he says

“Who do you want to marry when you are older?”

I’m struck with confusion, why would he ask that out of the blue

“u-uhm I don’t really know at the moment; I have not thought about it before”

That was a lie, I have thought about it, when I’m older I’m

going to ask Claire to marry me, in this world its not unusual for Cousins or people from the same family to get married and have kids

Stuart has probably seen my intentions and came to check; he obviously knows what I want

He says nothing but nods, its awkward for a bit but then he starts talking about the school we will be going to

“When I was in my last year, I became the president of the student council while your father was vying president, we pretty much ran the students, Hahahaha”

He let out a hearty laugh like Edward

After talking about it for a while and changing subjects Stuart finally got out and wrapped a towel around him, while walking out he said something

“Make sure to keep my daughter and Clara safe”

Those words resonated through my body, that was obviously my intention from the beginning but with Stuarts words it made my goal even clearer

The night before we are heading Me Claire and Clara talk for hours about what to expect from the Kingswood School

“Do you think we will all be in the same class”

Clara said this nervously

“Of course, we will, father said that we are all 4 times better than he and uncle were at our ages, we will all get put in S class”

I nod with what Claire said to Clara and we all continue talking until we fall asleep.
