Chapter 34 :
Episode 8 : Faker (2)
"It's you bastards again." Alaine grumbled.
"Would you stop running already and let us get your ‘Numbers’?" One of the gang members asked while toying with his rapier.
‘They already know about the ‘Numbers’?’ I thought.
For your information, ‘Numbers’ have many functions which was why they were extremely useful to anyone.
The first function is that they were a way for the NPC or the residents here to become a player of that specific ‘Numbers’.
Once a NPC becomes a player, they will increase their powers after receiving the previous player's status and belongings. So if someone were to become the ‘Last’ player, they will surely obtain all my status and items.
However, there is another function specifically for the players. ‘Numbers’ can be turned into a rune. Runes that grant you skills or become a material to be used in armors and weapons making. The rarities differ from each ‘Numbers’ which means the higher, the better.
But to first obtain the ‘Numbers’ is..
"I'll be the first to kill you!!!" A few of the men shouted, sounding genuinely excited.
"To kill the player." I mumbled to finish my explanation.
Two of them rushed in with their weapons while the other four prepared to take aim with their long and short ranged weapons.
Seeing how desperate they were, they must have known about HwanGi being the player ‘1’. I could tell it was those angels who did it.
Meanwhile, what did I do in this situation? Well, I was just standing there, observing what Alaine could do.
I could just easily kill these players if I wanted to but it wouldn't be fun, right?
Behemoth who was still on my head, yawned at this predictable situation. "Master. Can I blow them to smithereens?"

"No, let's just watch the show." I whispered to him, not letting Alaine know.
[Player ‘999’ has activated the hidden skill, ‘Bodyjack’ Lv. 1.]
In that moment, one of the women in the back had her eyes changed to blue, having dark blue particles shimmer to outline her body.
Afterwards, she shot an arrow to her female friend's leg using a crossbow, causing that friend to be utterly confused while shrieking from the pain.
Soon that woman switched back to her usual self as if to signify the hidden skill, ‘Bodyjack’ deactivation.
The injured lady bawled as she pulled out the arrow. "What the heck are you doing?!"
"I-I don't know! It wasn't m-me! I swear!" The woman who has been controlled, said nervously.
When the long-ranged damage-dealers were having trouble, the close-ranged damage-dealers were also having a bit of a problem fighting against Alaine.
[Player ‘999’ has activated the skill, ‘Clone’ Lv. 1.]
[Player ‘999’ has activated the skill, ‘Flurry Strike’ Lv. 1.]
Alaine, who was slashing her daggers at those bastards, had a blonde lady with a ponytail appear behind her back.
I mused, having my eyes view the situation from the sideline. ‘It must be Alaine's real appearance.’
Alaine's clone sprinted toward the second close-ranged attacker to block his attack. While Alaine, herself dealt with the man in front of her, striking as fast as lightning thanks to her skill.
[Player ‘16’ has activated the skill, ‘Petal Wave’ Lv. 1.]
[Player ‘215’ has activated the hidden skill, ‘Charge ball’ Lv. 1.]
The other two long-ranged damage-dealers were trying to fire off their skills at me, thinking I was Alaine's or the fake ‘HwanGi’'s ally.
‘Just when I was enjoying the show.’ I sighed while having Lucifer transformed into a scythe in my right hand.

A wave of petals coming at me in a circular motion with a ball of charge up electricity zapping in the middle.
Nevertheless, I remained calm and grasped my scythe's handle tightly to spin it around in front of me, blocking the attacks with ease.
A woman in the back gasped while panicking. "N-no way! Our attacks!"
I smirked, saying. "I'm not done yet." I took a throwing stance and the moment I thought shurikens, Lucifer had already changed himself into three shurikens.
Immediately, I pinch gripped my shurikens, preparing to take aim. And as I threw the shurikens at the three, perfectly fine long-ranged damage-dealers, they noticed it too late and got hit in the heart and head.
But since I haven't used up the 65 stats points of mine, they were lucky enough to survive with only minimum damages.
One of them commanded with a shuriken sticking out of his head. "Haha! He's just a weakling! Attack him quickly!"
Sometimes, I wish there wasn't HP so they could just die already. But alas.. "Ignite."
As to what I did to my arrows before, the same thing happened to the shurikens, releasing an enormous amount of dark lightning.
The dark lightning circulated through their bloodlines from the tip of the shurikens that went inside their fleshes, electrocuting them from within their bodies.
Not having a second to speak, their bodies exploded from the lightning zapping out of their bodies while fleshes shattered around near the other two long-ranged attackers.
[Player ‘215’ died.]
[Player ‘16’ died.]
[You have obtained two ‘Numbers’!]
The shurikens that were in them, descended to the ground. Then I extended my hand out as though I was retrieving the shurikens.
The shurikens flung themselves to my hand before dissolving completely inside my hand.
"That was easy." I spoke as if I had already expected them to die this way. But I still felt rather disappointed. "Disable player's true deaths."
[You have turned off the player's true deaths footages.]
‘Anyways, I wondered how Alaine is doing..’ When I looked at Alaine's direction, she was already exhausted from fighting the two men.
Not only that, she kept panting, weakly parrying the man's attack. The more I watched, the more I exhaled a sigh.
Since I didn't want her to die, I grabbed Behemoth who was fidgeting so much on my head as if he wanted to join in on the fight.
Then tossed him toward the two men, forcing them to get distracted by the flying cat coming their way.
The moment when Behemoth got close to the two men, his claws became visible as they grew sharper, readied to slice.
[‘Behemoth’ has activated the skill, ‘Slice and Dice’ Lv. ???.]
All happening in one second, Behemoth used his five long sharpened claws to slice downward from the man's head to his foot as Behemoth fell down. Then another slice to turn that man into smithereens.
Behemoth transformed that man into a gruesomeness pile of flesh cubes with blood leaking out of the fleshes and organs.
Behemoth purred, licking off the blood on his claws. "If I can't blow you up into tiny pieces, then I'll just use my claws!"
[Player ‘13’ died.]
It seemed a bit odd to see double digits already. You see, double digits players wouldn't be here right now since all of them have an extra quest to do.
‘But what the heck is happening now?’ I thought.
