《Reverend Insanity(But it was me DIO!)》Chapter 15: Using and Refining Gu's.

"On around 12 hours, my trial will begin..."
Dio frowns.
During those past days, he hadn't found the chance to utilize his Destiny Gu nor refine other Gu's of any sorts, as he was on a thin, thin timeframe.
But, after he broke through and after he stabilized his Cultivation, he then began to set his sight on Destiny Gu.
The Gu was already at the verge of breaking through, due to Dio's actions which changed the Fate of many Cultivator such as Ma Shan Hu.
...
Dio sighed lightly, he grabbed Destiny Gu and injected some of his dark copper green Primeval Essence on it.
A whiteish stream of light surged all around his body.
Dio extended his sights, and everything around him changed.
The mirrors, the stones and the doors, they were all shining with distinct degrees of energy and shine.
Most of the stream of lifeless things were devoid of shine and color, being mostly transparent, but, when he glanced at his own image on a mirror he saw a peculiar sight.
All his body was surrounded by a orange-red magma river which surged through his pores and muscles with a tremendous force.
Before his back there was the image of multiple phantom-beast, some were clearer some were blurrier.
They were all, above or at the same altitude than him.
At the same time, there were a constant celeste storm gathering right on his left knee, and a branch of a brown tree grabbing tightly his right knee.
Those celeste and brown auras, also had at their center a condensed dark heap of energy.
Another thing to consider was that his magma river was constantly releasing two fog's, one was white and was aiming to the Heavens, whilst the other was black and was moving towards his feet.
Dio frowned lightly, his intuition told him that the black luck would continue to increase as it piled up and when it touched his neck, he'd begin to drown by this hidden bad luck.
Dio looked at those celeste and brown traces of light and frowned.
"It makes sense than Ma Shang Feng is constantly decreasing my luck, who is represented by the celeste storm, but who is the other, is there another rank 5 presence that I'm unaware of?"
He sighed.
"I lack too much info, and only through this Destiny Gu I can hope to comprehend it and perhaps change it...
Change it?"
Dio lowered his expression.
"What if..."
He began to move his hand, and he tried to pull those two surges of bad luck away from him.
But, Destiny Gu's bright aura began to destabilize.
"I see, the rank of this Destiny Gu is too low, if it was at a rank 2 or 3, perhaps I'd be able to alter my luck directly..."
The eyelids of Dio twitched, he realized that there was a tiny, tiny pink-purple blossom close to his heart.

"What is that, is that indicating a fortuitous encounter I'll have?"
...
Dio considered rapidly, but at the end he found no answer.
His intuition was simply too limited, his attainment was too lacking and he couldn't use to its fullest this Gu.
Finally, after realizing this was the limit of his ability Dio gave a quick conclusion.
"Let's see...
My luck is vigorous, dense and strong.
It shows the nature of my innate absurdly high luck, and also represents my own Vampiric nature through the reddish magma it revealed before me.
Whilst the black fog represents my bad luck, those hidden threats that I've not noticed, this includes the danger of my Extreme Physique or another of my circumstances.
Perhaps, if I used this Gu a hundred of times, all around this tribe, could I find the source?
...
I'll consider this, but first, I must find a way to prevent the aura of the Gu from leaking."
Dio tilted his head, he glanced at a few materials he left on a table.
"Now, that I've measured my luck, I guess is about time I refine my first Gu on the 'traditional' way."
He took a tiny blueprint and began to read its contents.
Stable Refinement Gu is a rank 1 Gu who similarly to most Refinement path Gu worms requires of balance, control and a delicate use of the forces and materials during the process of elaboration.
It must be performed inside of a clean bronze furnace at a stable temperature.
Now, at the center of this furnace you must put a tiny rhino spiral funnel, which will be fastened by 4 dense silver tubes where you'll also add a continuous stream of distilled water trough them.
At the rhino spiral funnel you must add a dense layer of 'metallic sand' and other various materials.
Whilst to prepare and heat them you must use a perfect, controlled blue flame, if the flame is a different color the reaction will be imperfect and the Gu refinement will likely fail.
To compensate for other various materials and the excess of hardness of the material you must add a soft 'golden Ying Yang Leaf' to make the addition of material softer, together with and....
Finally after those 38 distinct materials you must then add a completely round snowball sphere, which to prevent it from melting due to the constant input of heat from the blue flames must be injected dark green Primeval Essence.
If all and each step is done successfully the Gu refinement will succeed, and a 'Stable Refinement' Gu will appear inside the furnace, otherwise there will be a huge explosion inside the room.
Anyway, the Gu as its name says 'Stable Refinement', aids on the process of refinement by stabilizing all and each of the materials.
Despite that this Gu is rarely used as those who lack mental energy, Primeval Essence and resources can't benefit much from this effect.

Whilst those who are experts on Refinement path don't require such external aid for the most part, and such lower ranked Gu's are normally too weak for them.
Generally this Gu is merely used as a supplementary refinement Gu used by the assistants of the Refinement expert.
Only someone with Dio with ample mental energy and resources but null knowledge of Refinement path could benefit tremendously for such a Gu.
Dio sighed softly and thought.
"Currently I lack the corresponding Gu's or materials to create this blue flame, but I think this will suffice..."
He rubbed his two hands together at a tremendous speed, breaking the layer of his skin, leaving fragments of his mashed up flesh.
After a long time, he made enough preparations.
With his middle and index fingers extended he created a blue flame.
On those previous days, Dio had been reflecting he noticed that the thing he lacked was no technique or strength but a medium.
And on comparison to the air his own flesh was far more reliable and helpful to do so.
To what would Dio use his newly created technique?
On a bucket water.
As one of the materials stated it was necessary to prepare distilled water, yes, he could buy it on the market, but due to Dio's years of poverty he was forced to learn how to use at its fullest each penny he found.
After around half an hour, a dense steam surged, the over 30 liters of water were all boiling, on that moment, Dio retracted his palm extinguished the flame.
Then, Dio put his glance on the silver tubes he had connected inside of the rhino spiral funnel, which he bought for around 20 Primeval Stones
"Good, I already made enough arrangements for the refinement."
Dio nodded to himself, he then began to pour of some of the metallic sand inside the funnel patiently.
Then, when the quantity was enough he once more ignited the flame within his palm and began the process of refinement.
As the minutes passed Dio threw more and more materials such as 'magnetic stardust.'
Finally, after adding enough materials he then proceeded to add some drops of honey inside the odd substance, to adhere all the materials.
Followed by sugar who was thrown to the walls, an odd type of spiderweb which was put right below the materials and the thin layer of hydrogel which formed a tiny disk beyond all the other materials, with a tiny circular cut at its center.
A few minutes later.
For the next step of the refinement Dio grabbed 'golden grass' and made a delicate knot to wrap this peculiar structure.
Afterwards Dio grabbed multiple tiny stones and put them one by one inside the walls, until they formed a cube-like shape with a missing side, from where Dio kept throwing and adding materials.
After enough preparations were made, Dio then from the incision and the tiny 'circular' hole on the disk, he put a piece of snowball.
To prevent it from melting Dio constantly added a continuous thin layer of Primeval Essence on it filling internally.
A dense white light surged within the center, Dio frowned.
He closed the furnace almost completely, and waited patiently.
At this point, controlling further the process was simply beyond his limits, he could only wait and see...
The time passed, the minutes became hours, finally Dio inspected the newly created Gu he made.
Similarly to the process of refinement of the Gu, the Gu had multiple geometrical shapes at its form.
There was a dense pure-white sphere at the center with a silver cube with a missing side, and a golden disk with a little circular cut just a little above the sphere.
After finishing the refinement of this Gu, Dio then put his gaze on another rank 1 Gu.
Luck Deduction Gu.
This Gu had a simple and plain effect which was to give brief and precise deductions at the cost of devouring the good luck of its target.
The Gu, was normally counter productive as an excessive bad luck could destroy the foundation of a Gu master, but to Dio it was within an acceptable range.
Being its only disadvantage the fact that due to its low rank he could only ask one question daily.
And as for the process of Refinement, well.
Each path holds its own 'type' of refinement.
Refinement path Gu worms ask for precision and methodical actions, one by one, to refine slowly a Gu.
Fire path Gu's ask for high temperatures, explosive movements and actions to quickly refine a Gu or burn the materials on the attempt.
Strength Gu worms ask for the user to 'replicate' the strength Gu they wish to refine, if they wish to refine a 'Jin' Strength Gu worm for example, they must do exercises and workouts for hours, by lifting weight, running, and so on.
Finally, for Luck path Gu worms, it was pure chaos, there were no a well-defined series of steps nor even well-stablished methods.
...
Dio glanced at a rat's brain he had on his possession and he then began to inject a lot of Primeval Essence to a four-clover leaf's to it, depending on how well they're put and their direction, the brain would either 'embrace' them or reject them.
To diminish the chance of failure and to prevent some of the leaf's to be expulsed Dio constantly released the aura of Stable Refinement Gu.
And then, at a breath taking speed began to put one by one those '4 clover leaf's' rapidly, without a care in the world.
Somehow, the process worked on a matter of minutes, he refined Luck Deduction Gu.
