《Reverend Insanity(But it was me DIO!)》Chapter 2: Another world, Another Fate 1/2

"What is this ugly thing?"
Dio glanced at the insect, for an instant the thought of crushing the bug crossed through his head.
But, he restrained such thoughts, his intuition told him that this would be a terrible idea.
Dio, who had always been someone who put an emphasis of his own emotions above all, naturally decided to pay attention to this slight feeling on his heart.
Instead, he glanced cautiously at the bug.
"mmm, even though this is very unlikely, perhaps those emotions aren't truly mine, and are produced by an enemy Stand, or something of the sorts..."
He sighed.
"Regardless, it seems my worries became true, and I'm stuck on a void where there is nothing.
Wait...
If that was the case, wouldn't I drown for a lack of oxygen?"
As he had this realization, a purple sandstorm appeared at all corners of this 'world', a billion of waves fell at all directions.
Filling Dio's vision.
Quickly as this plane was devoid of gravity those cumules of 'sand' gathered on multiple purplish-pinkish clouds.
At first, those clouds looked thin and plain, and at contact they had the texture of cotton candy.
They're all so malleable, and easy to manipulate, it was as if they're being controlled by Dio's thoughts!
...
A laughter resonated across the plane, suddenly, all the clouds began to spin, rotate and move at all directions on all sorts of patterns.
Before Dio realized, thousands of those 'clouds' collided with others, forming denser and denser heaps, which became progressively darker.
Finally, after multiple collisions, the shape of a dark head was carved.
When, you looked at this head, you'd notice there were tiny sprouts of 'black flames', surging through his hair, and that his eyes looked like the static noise of a television.
The only 'stable' part of its body, were the iris, which looked like two thin purple rings which seemed to forcefully restrain the quasi-infinite power from his eyes.
This head looked at Dio and plainly asked.
"So, you, visitor from another world.
Why have you come here?"
Both, Dio and the head looked at each other for a brief moment, before the head frowned and said.
"Why I am even asking?
I'll simply look directly."
The head opened his mouth, then he shoot a powerful purple ray towards Dio.
This dense ray, revealed his bone, his muscle tissue, and even each individual vein of his body.
It even revealed for a brief instant the contents of his Stand(soul), and his brain.
After five seconds, the ray vanished abruptly.
The head chuckled and said.
"I see, you had quite the journey to arrive here, didn't you, Dio?"
Upon hearing his words, Dio's eyelids twitched, but, after recovering his composure Dio frowned, and asked sarcastically.
"Heh, it seems you have an special power to look through my memories, or at least, one to figure out my name.
I wonder, how you did it, though?
On this world you people also have Stands, or any other sort of mystical, arcane magical power?
But, I'll ask you, are those powers compared to the power of stopping time or overwriting reality?"
The head looked at Dio fixedly and said.
"Do you have such powers?
Hah, last time I checked, your 'Heavenly' self, was already regressed, whilst you, returned back to the state you were, right when Jotaro Joestar pierced through your stomach.
If you were foolish enough to use your 'Stand power', you'd die without an intact corpse.
Thus, the only power you hold currently is your Vampire abilities, versus my Gu's and the power of my lingering will."

Dio frowned, he inspected his Stand briefly, and in fact, it was still heavily wounded.
After realizing this factor, his wariness towards that 'head' increased considerably.
He began to analyze inwardly.
"Gu's, those poisonous insects from China?
Are they the source of power from this world?
...
Is the thing I hold on my hands, a Gu too, and does it holds the power to destroy the opponent before me?"
He sighed inwardly, but he smiled warmly at the head.
"Hah, hah, this Dio was just joking.
As you may know, I was naturally stressed for everything that I lived through those last hours.
So, please, almighty-creature, could you show some mercy to me?
While we are at it, could you please tell me, what are Gu's exactly.
Right now, I'm a mere wanderer, on a world full of mystery, with a power system I don't comprehend, if I'm the slightest careless, I'll die as you said, without an intact corpse.
So, please could you share some basic info of this world to me?"
The head, rolled its eyes.
"Dio, we both know you're trying to weaponize this knowledge against me, so cut it."
It sighed.
"But, you're right.
As your assistance would be rather helpful for my ambitions, I must share some basic knowledge of this world with you."
The head frowned, then it began to explain.
"Gu's, Gu's are on essence traces of manifestations of the Dao, whilst the 'Immortal' Gu's are full pieces of the great Dao.
To explain bluntly, the former, the mortal Gu's are basically 'replicas' or mere manifestations of the laws of this world.
A mortal Fire Gu, would create a flame, depending on it is from rank 1 to 5, the intensity of the flame and its profoundities will vary.
But, after reaching to rank 6 to 9, Gu's, become true traces of the great Dao, thus, for example Wisdom Gu is the true physical form of Wisdom and cognition.
For this reason, immortal Gu's are unique, of course this doesn't means that if there's an 'Immortal Gu' there can't be mortal copies, as I said before, the others are the 'manifestations' of the laws of our universe.
Basically, 'mortal' a manifestation of a law, 'immortal gu', the law on itself.
On this world, there are a myriad of Gu's, which represents distinct traces, some are plain and simple like 'Turn to Sand' Gu, others are more complex like 'Inch of Time' Gu, and others, like your Destiny Gu have blurrier effects.
Their power and intensity varies depending on their rank, being the lowest the weakest, and the highest the strongest.
Other factors to take into account are the 'effects' of the Gu's, as even across the same rank, their effects are naturally very diverse.
I'll give you two examples, that I'm sure you'll take into consideration, Fate and Destiny Gu.
Fate Gu rank 9 is the physical shape of the laws of 'Fate' of the Heavenly Dao.
Fate from your and my world, are different on execution but the same on concept.
The concept I speak, is the casualty-manipulation of the Fates on our respective universes.
Basically, Fate follows the rules of the Heavenly Dao, and the cosmos, to fulfill the Heavenly Dao's purpose.
On the case of your world, those who try to stand against the Heavenly Dao and attain abilities beyond a certain point, basically those who try to attain absolute power.
In my world, though, the laws are harsher, as the Heavens of my world act on the form of balance above all.
To diminish the losses, and to decrease the benefits.

If a certain type of specie triumphs above the rest for a certain frame of time the Heavens will forcefully try to suppress this variable, if an specie is in the brink of extinction, the Heavens will do its best to preserve its existence.
If someone has a bad luck for a long period, the Heavens will increase his luck temporarily to diminish their losses.
Finally, the longevity and how long any being can exist, is determined by the Heavenly Dao as it determines the amount of Lifespan Gu produced on all this universe.
If a being reaches the apex of the world, the Heavens will halt the production of Lifespan Gu so they die of old age, so they can't monopolize everything and become absolute and eternal.
This concept applies also to villages, if they're too prosperous, Heaven's will, will eventually throw a tide of beasts towards them.
...
With this explained, Heaven's will holds two methods to ensure this, one is through the power of Tribulations, and variables, considered as luck or external circumstances
Whilst the second and the most troublesome one, is the slight, constant manipulation of the world's casualty, through eons.
That is Fate.
Their 'strings' manipulate the world within a possible framework, basically anything that can happen and that the Heavens wants becomes inevitable.
Luckily, since Fate Gu has been damaged, there are few limits outside its reach, such as the pocket dimensions known as immortal apertures, secluded domains of Heaven and Earth and a few other safe-paradises.
Now, moving to your Destiny Gu.
Destiny, refers to the power of 'casualty' and 'causality', of the predicted and the unpredicted.
It feeds on Luck threads of the surrounds, and the 'Destiny' threads it creates when it activates its effect on a certain target.
Speaking of which, its 'effect' is also related to those two, the power to manipulate the threads of 'Destiny' and 'Luck', the higher its rank, the higher its sheer power and diversity of effects.
Though, as a nice coincidence, the 'threads' of Destiny, are actually very similar to the threads of Fate, and hence, it passively leeches off Fate, and it nourishes itself passively!
This means that as long as your Destiny Gu exists, it will keep growing and Fate will be getting progressively weaker, which brings me to the next point.
...
But, before that, I guess is about time I introduce myself, right?"
After saying this, the black head exploded onto countless of agglomerations of clouds, with 8 'chains' as their perimeters.
Those 'chains' restrain the movements of those clouds, and even manipulate it slightly.
Once more, countless clouds collided, and hit each other, like countless brushes hitting a sheet of paper, and slowly creating a beautiful painting.
It was as if the Chaos was mimicking the order.
On the myriad of explosions, the image of a young, handsome slowly appeared.
He held black robes, with purple stripes, which were quite fitting with his odd eyes.
His movements were graceful and restrained, yet there was some sort of pure elation on his slight smile he couldn't simply hold back.
If it wasn't for the wrinkles close to his eyes, which reflected his years of experience and old age, his mischievous smile would make you think he was a mere child looking at his new toy.
"Hello, I am known as Limitless, Limitless Demon Venerable.
Or at least that is how they call me, as for my real name, though.
Heh, well, my main body considered those memories useless, for I, I am one of his countless wills, and so, is of little importance if I recall something as trivial as a name."
Limitless shrugged calmly.
"But, returning to the point, I, and many other figures wish to get rid of this Fate Gu..."
Dio looked with suspicion at that 'Limitless.'
"Get rid of Fate?"
Limitless sighed.
"Remember what I said, the Heavens seek the balance, and I, I am merely lingering will from my main body.
Does that tell you something?
I, Limitless had an ambition to achieve 'Heaven' just like you, but, there was no road ahead of me, even after I became a rank 9 existence, invincible on this world, I am still caged by the laws of this world.
Thus, inevitably I meet my death at old age, but, I didn't give up yet, for eons, I have been here, arranging my own schemes, just like most of the Venerables, for that 'pawn', Red Lotus Immortal Venerable foresaw in one of the countless possible futures."
He glanced at Dio and said.
"You, even though you're not that 'one' (Fang Yuan), you're also a pretty good candidate.
As you hold a tremendous, immeasurable luck comparable to Red Lotus himself, you're also an otherworldly demon, you're a complete zombie, which makes you antagonic against Heavenly Court, and your Human Qi is unbelievably rich!"
Dio frowned, he thought to himself.
"It sounds quite logical, still, there are some gaps on his story...
Such as the existence of another otherworldly demon.
I mean, he has been waiting for eons by his own words.
Thus, the chances of us two arriving at the same moment, is simply too coincidental!
He may be trying to decrease my value as a 'pawn', so I don't get too cocky, or I try to extort him.
Another thing is, why he doesn't tries to steal my Destiny Gu?
Even if he's dead, Jonathan Joestar still held strong even after a century, his Stand which came from his lingering will, was actually pretty damn strong.
So, why, it would be so hard to simply rob this Gu out of my hands, and apply its effect for a few hundred years, before freeing himself out of Fate's restrain?"
Dio was a natural paranoid, and perhaps even a coward.
Unless it's absolutely necessary he never takes risks, and thus, he decided that he was only going to play pretend with him, until he found a way to escape or he figured enough information, to see if it was advantageous and safe to follow his arrangements
Limitless shrugged once more.
"For your first question, yes, it's very unlikely, but is the truth, whether you believe me or not, its the truth.
As for the second one, well, take a look around you.
This isn't a common part of the world, we're literally at the edge of the universe, an artificial part created by me, to isolate myself from Heaven's will.
To fulfill my ambitions and to protect my wills from the Heavens, after all, by my continuous actions against the Heaven, I am the most hated one.
Thus, if the Heavens were given a chance to strike, they'd burnt me to ashes, eventually, when I run out of power.
So, even though I can leave this world boundary, I only do so, for things of outmost importance, as continuous exposure would only accelerate my decay.
With this considered, what would Destiny Gu feed on exactly if it was on my hands?
I purposefully isolated all my wills to ensure that there are no 'variables' of the Heavens, I even got rid of most of Luck's influence!
To feed your Gu I'd have to either leave it outside, hoping that the Heaven's don't crush it like the bug it is, or I could go along with it on hundreds of 'walks' outside.
Hahaha, needless to say, it wouldn't end up well for me if I did.
As for you, for your condition as an otherworldly demon, everything around you is tainted by an aura of 'unpredictability.'
The Heavens are unable to exert their strength on you, and even on the world around you.
Yes, the Heavens could strike you down if they willed, but they follow the principle of 'balance', on your current weak state, they'll send minor disasters to you, or perhaps affect your luck negatively.
But with your Venerable-like Luck, such variables are nullified, at least for the short term.
...
So, do you consider satisfactory my explanation?"
Limitless looked at Dio who snorted and replied.
"Could you stop reading my mind?"
The Venerable shook his head.
"No, can't do."
