《Beast King now a Mage》Chapter 19- The Letter

A battle that could affect the entire existence of the Kingdom was just around the corner. I have no idea what I can contribute to this battle. All I know is I'm on the verge of having a heart attack.
"Adrian! Get over here!"
I heard the Commanders shout as I was helping to move munitions for the cannons. I ran as quickly as I could manage as soon as I heard. I was always on the verge of passing out when I saw the Commander's cold glare, but there was more pressure than usual when I got up the stairs. I looked at the Commander standing next to a legendary figure and froze in place.
I barely managed to squeak out a reply after seeing the Salamander standing right next to the Commander, "Y-Y-Yes, Lord!" The Commander had I'm going to smack you written all over his face.
"The Tower Master has a job for you!"
The Salamander had brown hair and even browner eyes with a rather plain yet stern face. He reminded me of one of my teachers growing up. He had circular glasses set on a wooden frame, and through those glasses, I saw the most serious and intense eyes I had ever seen.
His voice was just as intense as his eyes, "Adrian is it? Take this letter directly to the Steaming Onion. Nowhere else. Tell no one where you're going. The tavern is located in the Southern District, less than a block away from the inner gates. Don't be stupid and run into the city flailing your arms in panic. When you enter the tavern ask for a drink and a Mutton Pie without onions from the bartender, and when it's time to pay for your meal give him this letter. If you act suspicious in any way or if you act urgently in any way you'll probably end up dead so please keep that in mind." I couldn't help but gulp down the saliva that pooled in my throat.

I didn't quite understand the mission, but I was prepared to execute it. I could tell by just slightly glancing over the wall that the situation was dire. Argon was invading, and they were doing so with full force. I grit my teeth and took the letter.
"Yes, T-T_Tower Master! I'll get it there as quickly as possible."
I fully intended to get this letter to the right people or die trying. After grabbing the letter from the Tower Master, I moved faster than I had ever moved before. I could see the enemy surrounding the castle like a swarm of insects covering the land. It looked like the insect plague that wiped out all of our crops when I was still a young child. I jumped on the back of a Heral and left the Castle in a hurry. The enemy swarm grew more and more distant in my view until I was unable to see the enemy at all. It took hours to reach a significant distance from the Castle, but after a few hours of pushing my Heral, I could finally see something in the distance. There was a guard station ahead, and I could see some small black spots which were probably the guards. When I arrived there were two guards stationed at the checkpoint. They must have been new as well since I didn't recognize them.
"HALT!"
I stopped my Heral and went to the checkpoint holding the seal the Lord had given me.
"I have urgent news from the Black Castle! I need to leave immediately!" The guards had colored hair which was rather unusual. One had red hair, and the other had blue hair. I don't remember any stories about any guards like that.
"From the Black Castle, huh? You can go on ahead."

"Thank You!"
I heard a swishing noise, and a slight pain like my neck got stung by a bee. Those were the last words I ever spoke. I went past the checkpoint, and the world immediately started spinning strangely. I could see the sky and then the faces of both guards behind me. They have such sinister smiles. The ground grew closer, and I finally realized what had happened. They had cut off my head.
"It's always weird when you cut someone's head off, and they start blinking at you..."
"Derick, only you would pay attention to something stupid like that."
"Well, you have to admit it's weird, I mean look at him he's still blinking and shit."
"Hahaha! You're right it is weird." He bent down to look me straight in my eyes before his hands caught fire. I saw the letter I was given burn in the guard's fingertips before blowing away as ashes in the wind.
"Rowan, make sure you burn everything, in case he has something else on his person that we don't know about."
"So bossy!"
The world was growing dark as all I could see was a sadistic smile on the Red hair's face. The world grew quiet. I wonder if my wife's ok...

Summoning Shenanigans
Adding in [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Sean was a chemist on Earth with a lovely family life. Everything was going well, until a group of gods decide to summon him to their world. An unfortunate appearance by the trickster god derailed a normal summoning, and now Sean finds himself in a pickle. Content warning: There will be profanity and quite probably some gore, though the point of the story will not revovle around any gory scenes. I'm also including traumatising content as there will for sure be slavery and rape. The rape will be alluded to and not described, there are other places for that. I think this also explains the grimdark tag.
