《Omen Philosophy (Web Novel)》Chapter 25 - Sword Saints Era II

The surprise attack on Carugonia had reached the ears of people far and wide, especially, the enemies of the Omen Sect. The first ones to sense the downfall of Demon Lord Baal were the ones subjected to him, Malgas, Yoshitada, and Silphy. They share a master and servant contract that was struck before the Omen Campaign.
Now that they can no longer sense the presence of their master anywhere in the world, they assumed that Baal had been slain. As such, they prepared for war and so too did the surrounding countries. Yet, they never thought countries could fall so easily like dominoes. This was the case for Orkis.
A deafening explosion destroyed the massive gates built by the undead Blue Orcs and hordes of undead poured endlessly with Gerald, Saix, and Ptolemy leading the front.
“Ptolemy, you have command! Sweep the area before we emerge from the castle. Saix, you’re with me,” Gerald ordered.
“An excellent command,” Ptolemy lightly bowed and flew across the battlefield.
“Saix, eradicate all but the Demon Lord. His life is mine for the taking.” A devilish smile appeared on Gerald’s face. I’ve been too influenced by the Boss lately. He thought for a second. “Haha! So this is what it feels like to reach the heights of power!”
Blue flames emitted from Saix’s double-edged poleaxe, Ukonvasara. The reason why Saix is often known as the “Blaze Blue” is because he ignites blue flames from his weapon. An undead who is also an elemental master controlling flames that burns much hotter than the standard fire.
Leading in the front, Saix controlled his blue flames and combined it with Aura while slashing the undead blue orcs like they were butter. There was no need for Gerald to step in since Saix is more than sufficient to destroy Blue Orcs below the level of Chieftain.
It was too easy for Saix as he cleanly cut a Blue Orc who was ranked as a General. No one’s name was special enough to remember except for Demon Lord Malgas.
Gerald relaxed as he watched his adjutant slaughter the palace royal guards and generals. “This must be the throne room,” Saix said.
“I sense a single presence,” Gerald replied as he took a step in the front. “Make sure no one interrupts.”
“By your order, Dual Sword Saint.”
Gerald Killeway opened the gates to the throne room. There he saw Demon Lord Malgas sitting on a bony throne with a dragon’s head at the top.
“Bahal must have been killed by you guys,” said Demon Lord Malgas.
Gerald readied his stance, “You got that right, haaa!” A blast of Aura was released from his two legendary swords.
Name: Demon Regalia Grade: Legendary
-A one-handed sword forged with the collaboration of the Omen people. The Lord Vicegerent personally gifted the weapon itself to Gerald Killeway for helping Dario conquer the Tomb of Calamor.
-Created from a Demon Lord’s spirit and makes all Demon species vulnerable.
-A frighteningly sharp blade that cuts most metals.
Name: Requiem Grade: Legendary
-A one-handed sword forged by the Humans, Berserk Dwarves, Dark Elves, and the Giant Tribe of the Omen Sect after being enlightened by the weapon, Demon Regalia. Contains wind attribute materials that amplify said element.

-Wielded on the left hand to parry all attacks.
-Said to complement with the Demon Regalia.
“Bah! What a disrespectful human! Hymn of the Virgo!” Demon Lord Malgas cast a unique spell exclusive to Orcs and a shield conjured in front of him.
What was thought to be easily blocked by one of the Demon Lord’s protective hymn spells broke through as pieces of the shield were easily cut.
Hymn Spells: [Hymn of the Virgo] -Conjures a blue shield that nullifies physical or magical attacks. Proficiency: 100%
“W-What! How is this possible?!” Demon Lord Malgas exclaimed while coughing blood from his mouth.
Gerald brandished his magnificent blades, “It’s because of these two.”
“T-Thats…” Malgas immediately understood as he closely observed the Dual Sword Saint’s weapons. I can feel my power wane as time goes on. I have to finish this before that! Comprehending the situation, the Demon Lord blasted another unique hymn spell.
“Hymn of the Libra! Hymn of the Leo!” Two spells were cast in sequence, one to drastically increase the size of Malgas and the other was a spell improved by the previous generations of the Blue Orc Chieftains meant to rival that of a Dragon’s Breath. An ethereal silhouette of a Dragon’s head formed like a helmet on the Demon Lord’s head and mana condensed into extreme proportions.
Hymn Spells: [Hymn of the Libra] -Uses mana to drastically increase the size of the user. Proficiency: 100% Hymn Spells: [Hymn of the Leo] -Morphs mana into the shape of an ethereal Dragon’s mouth that equips to Malgas’ head and blasts a concentrated beam of fire from his mouth. Proficiency: 100%
“Wow! That’s some powerful magic you got there, haha!” This might be equal to my Dual Tsunami Wave. Gerald thought as he quickly thought of how to overcome such a spell. I can use that a couple more times before I run out of chi. Why do I even complicate things? I’ll go all-out like this guy!
Without an ounce of hesitation, the Dual Sword Saint gathered 99% of his remaining mana into his two legendary swords. “It’s too early to show this, but, what the hell!
Ever since witnessing the majesty of Lord Vicegerent and his lonesome battle against the Meloirean troops, Gerald had thought a literal “god” had descended to this world. Witnessing such a battle awed Gerald to the point of putting him in a trance. After awakening from such splendor, he began his path to reach the pinnacle in Dual-Swordplay no matter what. The focus to reach the top was never going to waver for as long as he lives.
Combining the wind properties of Requiem with Aura and fire properties of Demon Regalia with Aura, a grand skill was discharged.
“The Mark of Heaven!!!” A ginormous stream of fire, wind, and Aura in the shape of an “X” clashed with the Hymn of the Leo.
Aura and Element Techniques: [Skill - The Mark of Heaven] Rank: EX Proficiency: 79% -An Aura and element ultimate technique inspired by Lord Vicegerent’s skill, Heaven and Hell.
The two great moves were clashing against each other for some time. Demon Lord Malgas felt his mana being reduced significantly the more breath that was blasted. When that occurred, The Mark of Heaven pushed backed harder as Malgas was no longer capable of contending with such an ultimate technique.

Kaboom!!!!
The decrepit castle that looked like more of a building structured with black bones and stones rumbled as the back was destroyed. An “X” mark as big as the castle was clearly depicted.
“Kurgghh!” Cough!! Cough! Demon Lord Malgas coughed out blue blood. His body was torn to pieces by the ultimate technique as his upper torso and head was the only thing left of the Demon Lord.
The Dual Sword Saint approached Demon Lord Malgas who was seated on his throne. Pointing both his blades in an execution-style form, Gerald wasted no time. “Remember this when you enter the nether realm. The Omen Sect sends their regards.”
Looking at the man who defeated him with unbelieving eyes, Demon Lord Malgas left this world as his head was cleanly sliced off.
Mission Complete! Congratulations! Demon Lord Malgas has been slain!
Numerous windows popped up detailing level-ups and titles achieved.

The neighboring country of Orkis which is placed in the middle of another, Ryoku, is governed by Demon Lord Yoshitada, Caesar Ryozen’s relative who had betrayed his clan. While the Dual Sword Saint, Gerald Killeway was busy fighting the Blue Orcs with the undead legion, Caesar went by himself to defeat Yoshitada. Unlike Demon Lord Malgas that has his undead kin as troops, Demon Lord Yoshitada was the only soul found in the cursed lands of Ryoku. Whoever enters his territory without permission is instantly inflicted with a curse that perishes the soul of those who stays for a prolonged period of time.
Though such a curse does not affect Caesar since he was born with an even more powerful curse, it offsets the effects of trekking Demon Lord Yoshitada’s territory. Similarly, when Caesar reached the pinnacle of his sword arts, he was given the title as the “Cursed Sword Saint” and whoever engages him in a battle of life or death is cursed to die in a countdown starting from 99.
The barren wasteland is not as dreary or permeated with the stench of the undead like Orkis, Ryoku has perpetual dark clouds hanging in the sky and no sunshine able to pierce the darkness. In effect, the land is infertile as could be seen with cracked earth and dead trees riddled about to and fro.
Approaching closer to the sole building in the whole country, it was a structure that looked like Caesar’s cultural homes from his birthplace - “Minka” was what’s its called.
(Author’s note: a traditional Japanese-style home.)
The Cursed Sword Saint, Caesar Ryozen emitted his spiritual pressure. Such actions were understood to be hostile and posed as a challenge to whoever received such a greeting. A single person appeared from the huge, run-down house. His appearance was that of a man in his late 50s adorning a black kimono and a toothpick in his mouth. Dissimilar to Caesar’s long grey hair, Yoshitada had long black hair fixed in a topknot.
“I did not want to believe it when I first heard it. How could you have fallen so low, Lord Uncle?!” A rare instance occurred when Caesar’s emotions brimmed to the core.
“Kukuku! You seem to be from the Clan that I left long ago. State your name, clansman!” Demon Lord Yoshitada posed.
“I am Caesar Ryozen, Clan-head of the Ryozen Clan!” Caesar replied with pride emanating from his words.
“Kuku!” The Demon Lord chuckled. “To think I would meet the son of my brother whom I have killed with these two hands!
Unsheathing Cursed Grip from its sheath, Caesar took a stance. “I will reclaim the honor of our Clan by the disgrace left by you!”
Replying in kind, Demon Lord Yoshitada emitted his purple Aura in his hand and a long Odachi began to form. “Recognize this? Kukuku!”
“So it's true. Not only have you betrayed your Clan, but you also took the family’s artifact, Muramasa!” Caesar could no longer hold his emotions back as he assailed forward at high speed. “Dark Buster!”
As the battle commenced, Demon Lord Yoshitada did not receive the effects of contending against the Cursed Sword Saint. Much like how Caesar is not affected by the Demon Lord’s curse laid on his territory, Yoshitada is also unaffected by the Cursed Sword Saint’s curse.
Aura Techniques: [Skill - Cursed Ryozen Swordsmanship]
Dark Buster - Demon Buster combined with the skill, Darkseid.
-Amplifies the attack several-fold at the cost of ¼ of the user’s HP.
-An execution wave skill dealing a consecutive series of slashes emanating from one move.
Rank: SSS Proficiency: 110%
KERPLANG!!!
Demon Lord Yoshitada blocked Caesar’s attack but lost significant amounts of HP.

“Kuku! Looks like my nephew isn’t playing around! Allow me to return the favor!” Muramasa bursts with a dark purple brilliance, “Dark Phantom Outburst!”
Aura Techniques: [Skill - Illusion Specter Darkness Blade] Dark Phantom Outburst - A downward slash compressed with a great amount of Aura. Rank: SSS Proficiency: 100%
Demon Lord Yoshitada looked as big as a mountain before unleashing such an attack. I can’t block that with my sword. Thought Caesar as he dodged the incoming attack.
Kaboom!! The Aura attack left a crater on the earth. One after another, the Cursed Sword Saint began to perform the swordsmanship of the Ryozen Clan.
Clang! Clang! “How thoughtful of you to remind me of why I left our foolish Clan!!” Scoffed Yoshitada. Being reminded of his brother’s swordsmanship angered the Demon Lord to the core. Clang! Clang!
This battle will be a long one. Thought Caesar, gripping his Odachi. “Come Lord Uncle! Let us settle the spirit of my father!!”

My Good Friend Murphy
***Disclaimer*** I wrote and am writing this purely for my own amusement. That means that this could have major revisions done to it sporadically, it has more grammar errors than even the most mentally stable grammar nazi could withstand, and will not update at all regularly. This is an ad-hoc fun experimental work with forced motives, plotholes, and static characters. Don't expect too much. That said, this mutated mistake of a short novella follows a ditzy MC who has been transported to a new world with the dubiously useful skills origin and enigma and the obnoxiously imbalanced skill, traveler. If you'd like more incentive to give it a shot, you will never get spoilers about the plot because there isn't one (Actual synopsis coming soon, relative to eternity)
