A young hooded boy could be seen walking in front of a very big mansion at around midday.
William walked up to the entrance of the house and was gonna enter but he was stopped by a guard
"Halt! Please state your name and the reason you are here"
William looked at him and then pulled his hood off
"Tell mom and dad I'm back"
The guard looked at me for a few seconds but quickly realized who I was and said
"Please come in young master I shall immediately go and inform the grand duke and duchess about your arrival"
William followed the guard inside the mansion and where ever he walked through the butler's and maids' heads would turn over to me with surprise in their eyes and start gossiping quietly.
William followed the guard to his father's study where the guard went in and good my father about my arrival.
When my dad heard what the guard had to say I heard quickly stand up
*crash*
"Where is he!"
"Master he is outside"
I heard dads loud thumping as he wished towards the door
*bang*
I was stunned at first when I saw him his hair was messed up and an unshaven beard and dark circles showed he hadn't had much sleep.
Looking at him a sudden feeling of guilt started rising in me
'This is all because I didn't listen to mom's warnings if I hadn't gone to that cursed forest none of this would have happened!'
"I'm sorry da- mmph"
Mom suddenly rushed out from behind dad and hugged me.
"Where have you been for so many days do you know how worried we were! We thought something bad must have happened!"
I was once again stunned seeing my mother as her condition was no better than dad as a matter of fact she was paler than him.

I hugged mom back and apologised to her and dad, after sometime mom and dad both calmed down and we went inside the study and sat down on the sofa, I looked around and noticed the lamp beside a one-seat sofa had fallen on the ground
'Ahh I'm guessing that was the crashing sound I heard before, poor lamp'
Dad sat in front of me alongside mom and looked at me with stern eyes before asking.
"So where have you been?"
"..."
"Well I was just experiencing ordinary life haha" William replied nervously
"Hmm I wonder where"
"Haha you know a bit here and there" William replied awkwardly
"Weird cause your mom had basically turned this entire fiefdom of ours upside down looking for you and we still couldn't find you trying out the 'Normal life'?"
'Crap I'm done forth goodbye my permission to visit the outside alone!'
William just sat there awkwardly hoping his parents would just let it go as him keeping his own secrets but from the glare, his mom was giving told him a whole different
'Sigh guess real life is not the same as novels'
"I visited Mania forest"
"WHAT!"
"I CLEARLY TOLD YOU NOT TO VISIT AND HOW DANGEROUS IT IS FOR THE CURRENT YOU"
"Wait mom calm down as you can see im completely okay"
After I said that mon looked me up and down as if she could see through my hood which gave me the creeps.
After some time of her doing that she visibly heaved a sigh of relief and sat back down
"So why did you spend 4 days in Mania forest" Dad asked
"Well I was trying to survive on my own and I didn't encounter any dangerous animals or packs because I stayed near the outer area of the forest"

Williams dad looked at him suspiciously for a minute.
'Crap did he find out I was lying'
"Sigh alright, but from now on you will not be able to leave our property without gaurds"
'Well... Fair enough'
"Alright"
"Okay go back to your room now we have something to do" his dad said while looking at his mom
'Okay I think it's about time I head out
William got up and exited the room and outside he told the guards not to disturb them no matter what and then headed to his room.
clack•
"Phew... Even though im not physically tired im mentally drained right now"
William went to his bead and instantly fell asleep not realizing that not only was he mentally exhausted his body was also exhausted because even if he slept for 4 days his body was never resting as it was pushed to provide for the bodies recovery
~
*phew*
"I think that was one of the best sleeps I have ever had"
William sat on his bed looked dazedly at the windows
"Emma show me my stats"
[Strength:9
Speed:8
Dexterity:8
Mana:6
Brain Power:10]
"..."
"Did my recovery have any effect on my body!?"
[When your body was absorbing the mana it was effectively going to every part of your body hence forth improving every bit if it for 4 consecutive days as for your mana there were some remnants if it left after your recovery so your body automatically swept up the remnant mana in your body as it was naturally recovering the lost mana and the remnant mana got mixed together and became one]
"Maybe I should go out and get injured more"
[Dont even think about it because there was a chance of failure in emergency treatment and you were lucky this time that everything went smoothly or else you may have really died]
"Now that I think about I dont feel like doing it so much anymore haha"
~
In a village of the Grand Dukes territory lies a peaceful village at the the borders of Mania forest,
A peaceful day was happening
The city guards as usual were doing there jobs but today something different happened
"RUN! RUN!"
the city guard looked towards the shouting person and immediately realized that the person who shouted for help was covered in blood

Stranger than Fiction (Draft Edition)
Rewrite -> https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/55140/stranger-than-fiction 150k words of rewritten and new content, updating 3 times a day. Faith is like ice-cream. It comes in all flavors. Greek, Norse, Sumerian, Christian— just name it and it's there. Adventures, on the other hand, are like credit cards. The first taste is free, but the price only goes up from there. Family heirlooms, now those are true evil. You get burdened with them for sentimental reasons even if they’re icky. For Lukas Aguilar, it was a pendant. A small, weird metal nib with absolutely no vampiric tendencies. All he wanted was to finish the job at hand, and get on that book he had been postponing for a while now. Instead he got served with an apocalypse for breakfast, a cave full of eldritch monsters for the company and the whims of a ruined goddess for his To-Do list. Really, a simple NO from the universe would have sufficed. Acknowledgments Editor-in-Chief: Solo Starfish Artwork: Exodus

Age of Regression
[Author's Thoughts] Dropped, obviously. Still, it's my first attempt at a novel and I do love what I did with it. Big step towards learning. Far in the past, there was a civilization much more advanced than the one of modern times. Evidence of that time remains, but it is all but shrouded in mystery as there remains no way to decipher it. Currently, normal individuals wage war with guns and smaller machinery, but those who can wield a higher power vary in their abilities. Scales, born upon humans, are a mystery in their origins but are the source of their abilities and their way towards advancement. Although normally powerless, humans have adapted to the scales and thus can connect with the power of the universe, much like the other races that inhabit its various corners. In one of these corners, there exists a human settlement where Lancing follows his father's footsteps to begin his own ascent to power. However, he finds he is far different from his gifted father, whose scales below his eyes were among the purest ever seen, reaching gem-like quality. Far from perfect, Lancing shows no desire to give up and ceaselessly moves forward to reach the peak of the universe. However, he begins to notice that the mysteries of the universe slowly begin to unravel in front of his eyes. To reach the heavens, Lancing must carve his own path.
