《Supreme Empire》Chapter 9 Awakening

[You should wait and stay awake till midnight there is gonna be a surprise from me]
"Alright"
At midnight William heard a Ding from the system
*Ding*
[Second Condition met for unlock]
[Reward: you have received 'Adaptable body']
[Third condition Unlocked]
"What does Adaptable body mean?"
[Humans in the past have tried and done experiments to test whether they can have both marks on their bodies, Unfortunately, their bodies could not handle two different mana flows so the mana they absorbed went rampant in their bodies and destroyed it from the inside, the adaptable body enables you to form different pathways without the risk of internal destruction]
This is indeed beneficial to me but who knew that people did these kinds of experiments on an 8-year-old kid no less makes me rethink my opinions of the humans here!
Huff, it's happened in the past and I can't even blame them because if they were successful then that would be a breakthrough for humanity, but it doesn't change the fact that they did it
"Emma what is the third condition for the full system to unlock"
[The third condition is for you to enter freesia Forrest]
"What! Isn't that asking me to die"
Freesia forest is a huge forest in the middle of the continent taking up most of the space while the 3 empires are on the borders of the continent
"They even say that once a person goes black they never go back...Ahm never mind it's said that once they enter freesia forest they are never seen again, And you want me to go there!!"
[Can you calm down William the system would never send you to your death that's stupid, you just have to believe the system]
"You know you are beginning to sound like a scammer"
[...]
"And even if I wished to go there there is no way in hell my parents would let me AND! Even if they allowed it I wouldn't be able to reach there because the distance between our fief and the forest is too far apart"

[The condition is already given so if you wish to unlock the complete system you really have no other choice but to go]
William has no other choice but to move on from the topic and leave it for later
"I accept the reward, Emma"
After he said that an electrifying pain took over William's body and then he fell to the ground and passed out
When William woke up the sun was already high up in the sky
Heavy bangs came from the door "William are you fine in there! Why haven't you responded to the maid that came before"
William hurriedly got off the ground fixed himself up and said "I'm fine mom I just overslept I'll be out in a bit"
What the hell happened, oh right now I remember "Emma why didn't you tell me about what was gonna happen?"
[I didn't get the opportunity to inform you as I was answering your questions and then you asked me to distribute the reward so I didn't get the chance to mention it]
"..."
Well can't lose sweat over something that's already done just gotta move on
[°π°]
"What's up with that face?"
[Nothing I just didn't expect you to accept it so fast and move on]
"..."
William went and cleaned himself up and exited his room and headed towards his dad's study
*knock**knock* "Hey dad can I come in"
"Yes sure son"
William entered the room and asked a question that has been bothering his mind since last night
"Dad why is it that even if I turned 8 I still can't feel mana around me?"
"Oh that's because you need to step on the platform you see, the platform is made of special material that is mined and manufactured in our land, that platform helps attract the mana in the air and make the area on the platform concentrated making it easier for you to sense it as you are recently able to use it your senses are weak "
'Woah this is the first time I'm finding out about family business I'm guessing they sell this material, Emma do you know what that material is?'

[The material is called black metal by the humans of this land but its actual name is gldl-051]
'I see I'll just stick with black metal if that's alright'
"Oh okay thanks dad I'll go and get dressed"
William then left the study and headed to his room and got changed into his clothes for special occasions
And waited while exchanging banter with Emma
Later a maid knocked on his door that the first are arriving and to go and meet with the family
In front of the manor, a lot of carriages could be seen lining up for entry, slowly being allowed entry after having their identities checked, the last carriage that came up had the insignia of the empire on it the guard that checked the identity of the people who were entering and saw the insignia but still went up to check as he had a job
"Your masters are getting arrogant to stop a carriage with the insignia of the empire on it aren't you" came a voice from the carriage
The guard recognised who this voice belonged to and then quickly got on one knee and apologised
"Whatever"
And then the carriage rode all the way to the entrance without any disturbances when they reached to entrance the driver stepped out followed by the emperor who followed the driver to the main hall he went in and announced the emperor's arrival then the door opened wide and let the emperor through
By this time William and his family already reached the hall and his dad was about to start his speech
"Welcome your majesty" he courteously bowed while the others went on one knee while others knelt, this just went to show the status difference in this society
"Please have a seat, since his majesty has given up his precious time for us we shouldn't let it go to waste so why don't we start the main ceremony now itself"
'Damn who knew dad was such a smooth guy'
"William why don't you go ahead and proceed to the platform"
'Alright let's do this it is finally the time, hold up since I've already reached the peak mortal stage won't I immediately break through am I right Emma?'
[Yes you are right William as the only thing you lack is mana to breakthrough]
'CRAP I DIDNT THINK THIS THROUGH AT ALL!!, Emma can you do something to stop them from seeing that I have 2 different pathways going in me and make it seem ordinary cause from what I have learned from novels is that being low-key and having the ability to act is clearly better than being at the top and having the ability to act'
[Unfortunately, I can only hide the fact that you can condense the warrior path]
'Phew that's more than enough'
William walked towards the platform and sat on it and then followed what his dad had said before he left the study to concentrate
William sat there and slowly started to feel these wisp-like things all around him he slowly started to take it into his body through his pores and made it go towards his heart following the path needed
The people looking at William began to doubt whether he has no talent and began to gossip
"Everyone please calm down let's patiently wait," William's dad said
Over here no one can say no to his words and the emperor just kept observing quietly so they had no choice but to settle down
After William guided the wisp-like energy to his heart and made a gathering of it by leading more wisps over there and forming a circle to which he sighed in relief because he had successfully formed a mana core next he guided it towards his wrists and did the same process to which he once again succeeded except this time a light grey light shone out and in a bit receded into a black colour ball on William's wrists
[Congratulations William for forming both cores successfully ]

On the Other Side
Sappers lead the way. It was a slogan Jake had heard a million times, but he never thought it would apply to leading the way into another world. Stuck in a new universe with new rules that resemble an RPG, can this former combat engineer with poor social skills survive or even better, lead his fellow survivors to thrive? This was written contemporaneously with Now That's Entertainment, with different characters and mechanics. I've decided to post both in hopes of comparing how they do. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Post does contain harsh language, realistic depictions of violence,

Or will the machinations of those who rule the Broken Lands lead him to ruin? *** This is a rewrite of my first story. It is a litrpg with elements of cultivation in a setting filled with fantasy and scifi trappings. For old readers returning, the story will be significantly different, but core components of the characters will remain the same. I hope you enjoy it.

World Revisit
Having no collection of her past, a confused young girl ends up in world unknown to her. A world with the nature as their source of life and magic, but at the same time also the cause of their despair and sorrow. The world seems to be facing a dangerous calamity. Being treated as an intruder, she will have to gain the trust of the people around her and find a way to live through this mess. With not much hope left, what can be done to prevent it? Nobody knows for sure, but a battle of life and death is bound to come. NOTE: Consider this story as the first version. I want to keep working on it so that the story can actually finish at one point for future development. I want to eventually make it a webtoon comic, but the story still needs to be written and the art still needs be improved. So I'll keep writing for now, but expect the final result to be much better than the story now. Until then, I hope we can have a great time together with this writing experiment. Thanks!

The further adventurers get from city of Dal, the rarer the loot they will find, but also the more treacherous their travels will become.
