"Today marks the 2 Year anniversary of the first sighting of a Demon. Sources say that this Demon may have been but the first of many however surprisingly no more Demons arose after this anomaly. Maybe this truly was an anomaly or maybe it was but one of the many demons that was exposed."
"Next, we have news of a bran-."
A hand pressed the pause button.
"2 Years huh." A boy with ash-blonde hair lay back. By his side a profile could be seen.
Blade storm
Hero rank: B+++
Potential: SS
Ability: Sword Energy Manipulation
Appearances: 56
On the other side of the world.
A bloodied boy with messy black hair sat on a pile of corpses scorched black as he rested his head backwards.
"2 Years now. Maybe its time to return."
The boy shook his head.
"Not now, afterall wouldn't want to keep him waiting."
The boy turned his head as his body erupted with pitch-black flames.
And two golden eyes opened in front of him.
As the boy clicked his fingers a huge burst of flames ravaged forth.
And it met with an ethereal golden dragon.
The golden dragon pushed past the flames with ease as it moved its gigantic body under the night sky.
"Bad move."
The brushed off flames grew as they tightened around the dragons giant body.
The dragons mouth strained as it tried to release a roar of flames.
"Not so fast."
A spear formed from swirling black flames lodged itself into the dragons fruit.
The dragon furiously erupted with power as it released hundreds of golden spears.
"Slow."
A voice appeared in its head.
Wrong.
Next to its head.
Two horns and a body riddled with black lines. A muscular body and flames intertwined with the boy.

And the last thing the dragon saw was a thin blade of black that wavered.
But it did not meet ravaging flames instead it met unprecedented black light.
And its head met the ground.
"Tier 7 beast and yet it died from a single strike of black light." Deylor furrowed his eyebrows.
Over the past 2 years he had been training in lost dungeons in East Equaria a place in the southern continent. If Deylor had to put himself in hero rankings he would probably be a solid A++. Deylor had spent the past years training his evolved body and discovering its powers. Only after he had spent a year and a half training his body to the limit had he accidently seen a small spot of light falling from his blazing flames of darkness.
But alas such a strong power sapped his energy. 5 Blades of light was his limit before he crashed into the grand from exhaustion.
Deylor slipped on the ring he had received long ago as he looked at his reflection in a small pool of water. His horns ceased to exist.
Deylor smiled as he extinguished his black flames.
The warm winds of the desert embraced Deylors face as he headed for a desert city to sell is gains.
"Get your coldest apples here, cold fruits, cold drinks and even cold chairs!"
"Selling a fine knife that will cut beasts like a cleaver!"
"Looking fo-."
Deylor closed his eyes in satisfaction as the marketplace kept its rapid atmosphere.
His days as an adventure had been satisfactory and he was willing to keep it that way.
"Oh, my bad." Deylor apologised as his trance had caused him to knock into someone. Deylors eyes narrowly transformed into slits for half a second before his figure normalized.

The man disappeared into the crowd as he sweated.
Guess the heat hits everyone equally, Deylor thought as he found his stop.
"12 Gold coins, take it or leave it."
Deylor swiftly chose the former option as he dashed out the door afraid of a cancelled deal. The material exchanger was a man of few deals. Few good deals that was,
As Deylor left for his hotel accomodation something in the winds changed.
Deylors evolved instincts tore at him from the back as he turned his head.
Boom.
A figure descending in orange flames. His impact alone had created crater fortunately no innocents died due to his flames only attacking those the user wished to be attacked.
Deylor cursed as he looked up.
Deylors mind erupted with emotions as he stared.
Friegerer. Number 7 hero. I don't stand a chance he went easy on that attack to loosen property damage.
"Cease resistance Demon."
Deylor cursed again. Must of been when I knocked into that guy, Deylor thought.
"Resisting what? Unfair arrest?" Deylor spoke back as a battle of abilities was not in his favors.
"I believe bringing in a horde of Demons was more than enough to guarantee your fair arrest."
The man smirked as he noticed Deylor freezing but Deylors thoughts were in a mess.
Demons? Demons had arrived? Impossible, the demon realm collapsed when its core in the Demon Kings castle was shattered.
So how were they here?
Boom.
A flaming dragon pushed Deylor back no matter how many flames he forged to resist it.
Deylor screamed.
"Damn it, so you won't let me get even one hit in?"
"Yes."
And then Deylor woke up in a grey room, on a grey char lying on a grey table.
"Hi."
Deylor blinked hurriedly as he looked at the man before him. He wore a tidy suit and had combed black hair.
"You have been assigned a noble quest."
Deylor opened his mouth in a daze.
"Hah?"
"Noble quests are quests which may seem impossible so only the most noble men and women take them on to help the human race. Luckily for you, instead of dying on a chair you can die whilst either eliminating the remainders of the Demons in the demon realm or helping destroy a potential new Demon Empire. Sounds nice right?"
"Well honestl-."
"I don't need your opinion. Also don't even think about escaping since we have already implanted a chip that can either shock or end you. I don't think you want either."
Deylor nodded hurriedly.
"Wait what about my righ-."
Deylors vision went black.
His new journey with new companions to defeat a new potential Demon King began.

8 193Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
