Chapter 40: Guerilla Warfare Part 2
The moment Gunnar aimed his bow at the leader of the enemy, his killing intent leaked out. The Bald Man was an experienced hunter. Therefore, he instantly noticed the killing intent directed toward him. The moment Gunnar released the arrow in his bow, the Bald man was already moving his head to dodge the arrow.
As expected, the arrow shot by Gunnar was evaded by the Bald man effortlessly. The Arrows were preparing to retreat when they saw the Blood Tribe’s Hunters were finally composing themselves. Gunnar was annoyed when his arrow was easily avoided by the Bald Man. Thus, he ignored the retreating Arrows and attempted to kill the Bald man again.
One of the retreating Arrows saw Gunnar was not retreating with them.
“Gunnar what are you doing?!” Shouted by the Arrow. “Do you want our plan to fail?!”
“Shut up! I just need one more shot!” Gunnar replied with annoyance while still aiming his bow at the Bald man.
When Gunnar released the arrow again, the Bald Man didn’t even dodge this time and just caught the arrow with his hand.
“WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! CATCH THEM!” The Bald Man shouted while pointing his finger where the arrow came from.
The Blood Tribe’s Hunters instantly follow the order and move to where Gunnar was. The Arrow who was trying to encourage Gunnar to follow the Plan became nervous when he saw the enemies were started moving.
Gunnar became more displeased with the Bald man when he saw him catching his arrow with no effort. He wanted to kill him even more because of this, but before he could think about aiming his bow again at the Bald man. The Arrow waiting for him finally lost his temper.
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING GUNNAR!” The Arrow shouted. “This is why I am against the decision of Head Arrow Vir when he said that you will be leading the Arrows until they return. Look what you are doing, you are risking everybody’s life because of your stupid Pride! If you cannot lead the Arrows, then at least cooperate with us!”
Gunnar became even more annoyed with the Arrow yelling at him. However, he swallowed his words when he heard the Arrow say the name of Head Arrow Vir. A lot of Arrows were opposed to the idea of Gunnar leading the Arrows while Vir and Armani were away because they thought that Gunnar was not ready to lead or a good leader.

Gunnar didn’t believe that he couldn’t lead the Arrows, that was why when Vir asked him if he could do it, he accepted it out of spite to the other members of the Arrows and also to prove to them that he could do it.
Now that he was doing whatever he wanted without caring about the consequences, he felt like he was proving those Arrows right. Even though he really wanted to kill the Bald man, he forcefully calmed himself down and finally move to retreat with the Arrows.
The Blood Hunters followed the retreating Arrows, but no matter how much they push themselves they didn’t seem to be able to narrow their distance. The Blood Hunter tried to use their bow hoping they hit the retreating target. However, the Arrows were too fast for them to hit.
After a few minutes of chasing, only 10 members of the Blood Hunters remained in the back of the Arrows. A lot of them gave up or couldn’t keep up to the speed of their retreating target. The retreating Arrows deliberately slow down their speed when they saw only 10 Blood Hunters kept up with them.
They want to show them that they are getting tired, so they would not give up on following them until they reach the place of ambush. The 10 Blood Hunters bit the bait, they fasten their speed when they saw the enemies they were chasing were finally slowing down.
After a few more minutes, the Blood Hunters were about to catch up to the Arrows. However, a sudden rain of arrows welcomed them. 2 of the 10 died immediately because of the sudden ambush of their enemy.
The remaining 8 Blood Hunters were scared by the unknown attacker. Thus, stopping the chase of their target and hiding in a nearby tree. The escaping Arrows also stopped and turn around to confront their chaser, Gunnar was really frustrated because of all the running.
Now that he had a chance to vent all of his anger, he didn’t let it slip into his hand. He instantly rushed towards the enemy hiding behind the trees. The Blood Hunter noticed the enemy they were chasing turned around to fight them, they were already scared of the unknown enemies. Therefore, they didn’t have any more desire to fight.

The Blood Hunters wanted to escape the ambushed, but whenever they tried to move a rain of arrows would hit the spot they were hiding, making it hard to move. When Gunnar was close enough, he immediately engaged with one of the Blood Hunters.
The Blood Hunter didn’t have any more choice but to fight back, because the Arrows were fighting the Blood Hunters, The Arrows hiding on the top of the trees stopped their shooting, in fear that they might hit one of their own.
The Blood Hunters noticed that the unknown enemies stopped shooting when they started fighting. They saw this as an opportunity. Therefore, while they were fighting the Blood Hunters slowly take the fight away from the location.
Even though the Arrows had an overwhelming advantage in this fight, they were still unable to kill another Blood Hunters. After a few seconds of fighting, one of the Arrow hiding finally noticed that something was wrong, but before he could warn Gunnar’s group, it was already too late.
The Blood Hunters simultaneously disengaged from the fight and immediately tried to escape. However, The Blood Hunters miscalculate their odds of escaping. They didn’t know that the escaping Arrows earlier were not fully utilizing their full strength.
They only relied upon their own experience, they didn’t know even in their wildest dream that their enemy had a very unique item that could boost their abilities, these items were the Runic Items. The moment the Blood Hunters turn their back to escape, all the Arrows wearing the Runic Items fully utilize their strength and speed.
Even Gunnar who was the genius when it came to fighting couldn’t keep up to the speed of his members. However, the most shocked ones were the Blood Hunters. They finally realized the decision they made was a mistake. Because of this mistake, another one of them died when one of the fastest Arrows caught up and stab one of them in the back with the spear.
The Blood Hunters were experienced enough to know that they wouldn’t be able to escape even if they used all their strength to do so. They turned around and decided to fight until the reinforcement arrived, they didn’t understand why their enemies suddenly became so strong.
Gunnar didn’t want to lose, so he charged at one of the Blood Hunter fully enraged, and stab him using his spear multiple times. The Blood Hunter didn’t back down, he also stabbed Gunnar with the spear every time his enemy attacked.
However, he didn’t realize that Gunnar was a mad man. Every time the Blood Hunter attacked using his spear, Gunnar would dodge it with just the hair, leaving his body full of small wounds. Yet, Gunnar would attack always intending to kill his enemy.
The Blood Hunter started to get scared, he felt like he was fighting a wild beast instead of a man. The 2 exchanged blows for a few seconds, but every time they did the Blood Hunter step back. Finally, because the Blood Hunter was flustered, he didn’t realize that there was a tree root behind him. Thus, when he stepped back again, he got tripped by it and fell.
Gunnar didn’t let this opportunity slip by, he instantly dashed in and stabbed the Blood Hunter right through his eyes. The Blood Hunter instantly died when Gunnar pierced his eyes and went through to the back of his head.
Gunnar screamed in his victory, the other Arrows became more aggressive when they heard Gunnar’s battle cry. The Fight went on for a few more minutes, the Arrows killed 1 more Blood Hunter in that few minutes. Only 5 out of 10 remained in the Blood Hunters, the Arrows’ morale was at its peak, they wanted to kill the remaining enemies. However…
“THE REINFORCEMENT IS HERE! WE NEED TO FALL BACK!” Berus who was watching in the tallest tree shouted. He saw a cloud of smoke coming in their direction.
All the Arrows instantly fall back including Gunnar when they heard the shout. Gunnar was already satisfied killing one of the Blood Hunters. Therefore, he didn’t mind retreating right now.
The 5 Blood Hunters sighed in relief when they saw all their enemies were retreating without killing all of them.

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
