Chapter 35: Stone Tribe Part 1

Inside the forest, Vir’s group was resting beneath one of the trees, hiding from the strong heat of the sun.

“It is been 5 days since we left the tribe and we still have no clue where to find a single tribe,” Vir grumbled, dissatisfied with the result of their search. “I thought you said there is a tribe here?”

“As I told you before, I do not know the exact location of the tribe,” Dara explained herself. “The only thing I am sure of is, that there is a tribe in this part of the forest, we just need to look harder.”

“That is what we have been doing for the past few days and we have not found anything?!” said Vir annoyed. He was getting impatient, he felt that the longer they are in the forest the higher the chance of the Blood Tribe attacking the tribe.

If the tribe was attacked and he was not there again for the second time, he wouldn’t be able to forgive himself. Dara was at a loss for words when he saw how agitated Vir was, she didn’t know how to reply to him without making him more agitated.

“Head Arrow, you need to calm down, I know you are worried for our tribe but do not forget that Gunnar is there protecting it. He maybe has a bad personality and has no manners, but he will do anything to protect our tribe, please trust him. “Armani reassured Vir. He knew Vir was very worried about the tribe and that his current emotion was a bit unstable.

Vir finally realized that he was acting too aggressive toward Dara.

“You are right Armani. Whoo…” Vir exhaled to calm himself down. “I am sorry Dara, I am just worried that there is something bad that might happen to the tribe while we are away.”

“I understand your feelings, even though my stay in the tribe is far shorter than yours, my desire to protect it is just as strong as you are. I already lose a tribe once and I do not want that to happen again, so please trust me that I am putting my all into this mission.” Dara said with a determined face.

She was also worried about the tribe but she forcefully held this feeling inside her heart. She knew that worrying right now would not help them find what they were looking for.

Vir nodded, he believed Dara’s words. He could feel the determination within her voice, he could feel the strong desire to protect something coming from her. This desire is so strong that it could match his strong desire to protect the tribe and his tribesmen.

“That is enough rest, we should move and resume our search.” Vir stood up, showing that he was ready for another round of searching. “All of you already know the drill, form a pair, and if you find something, you should come back here and wait for all the team to return. If you encounter other hunters do not engage, remember our mission is to form an alliance, we do not want to form bad blood that can lead to failure. Now move!”

All the Arrows formed a pair and scattered in different directions. After a long time, Vir and Armani were slowly walking, looking for some clue to find the Stone Tribe that according to Dara was located in this part of the forest.

They suddenly heard a sound, they didn’t need any signal or say anything to each other, both of them knew what they needed to do and immediately move towards the sound. When they reached the place where the sound was coming from, they hid in the bushes to observe the situation.

Vir and Armani saw a group of hunters, all of them holding a stone hammer as a weapon while fighting with a pack of forest wolves. The group of hunters consisted of 5 hunters, all of them were young just the same age as Berus. While the pack of forest wolves consisted of 7 wolves.

Anyone could understand that the 5 young hunters were clearly at the disadvantage in this fight, some of them even had bite marks and scratches on their bodies.

“DO NOT GIVE UP!” one of the hunters shouted. “HOW CAN WE BECOME TRUE HUNTERS, IF WE CAN NOT EVEN KILL A MERE FOREST WOLF! DO NOT FORGET WE COME HERE TO PROVE OURSELVES THAT WE ARE READY TO FIGHT!”

This young man tried to motivate his subordinate to keep fighting. he seemed to be the leader of this group. Regardless, the other hunters were already exhausted, their morale couldn’t be raised by just saying a few words.

Vir and Armani already knew that except for the leader of this group, all of them were already losing hope of winning this fight.

“Should we help them?” Armani asked. He knew that if they didn’t help these hunters, sooner or later all of them were going to be killed by the pack of forest wolves.

“Hm…” Vir didn’t answer immediately and ponder for a bit. “Do you think these young hunters belong to Stone Tribe?”

“Well… based on the description Dara told us, it is highly likely that is the case,” Armani answered while recollecting the information that Dara gave to them. “She said that the Stone Tribe like to use a hammer as their weapon and these kids match that description.”

“Let us help them then, we can ask the question later.”

One of the young hunters screamed, she was caught up by one of the wolves and pinned down on the ground. The other 4 young hunters tried to help their teammate as quickly as possible. However, they were blocked by the other forest wolves.

“NO!” All of them screamed when they saw the wolf was about to bite her neck. Suddenly a stone spear came out of nowhere and pierced the wolf on its neck. The forest wolf let out one last cry before it died. The 5 young hunters were surprised by the sudden appearance of the stone spear.

When 2 adults slowly came out from the bushes, they thought that their tribesmen were here to save them. But far from their expectation, the face of these 2 was unfamiliar to them. Before they could ask a question, one of these adults who had a muscular body shot out to the pack of wolves.

After Vir threw his spear at the wolf that was about to bite the young girl’s neck, he slowly walked out from the bushes together with Armani. He immediately dashed to the pack of forest wolves without saying anything to the surprised hunters.

Vir did this to garner the attention of the remaining 6 wolves. The wolves immediately encircle Vir blocking all of his escape paths. Vir calmly stayed still in the middle of the encirclement, there was no trace of fear on his face.

Finally, one of the wolves that were behind him, pounced at him. Vir covered his right hand with Life Energy, when the wolf was about to bite his nape, he instantly turned around and caught the forest wolf on its neck.

The wolf tried to escape by struggling and using its claw to scratch Vir’s arms, but the Life Energy covering his arm was too strong for the wolf to even left a single mark. Another wolf saw that Vir’s attention was on the wolf he was holding.

Therefore, it decided to also pounce on his back intending to bite his nape. However, the wolf let out a whimper when an arrow hit it on the side of its body. Armani who didn’t move to his position use his bow to shoot an arrow at the wolf. Because Vir and Armani had a long history of hunting together, they do not need to say anything to understand each other.

They both knew what each other want and Armani knew that Vir wanted to fight all the wolves by himself, so he chose to support him with his bow. The forest wolf caught by Vir finally stopped moving when Vir broke its neck, but he was not done.

After killing the wolf that he was holding, Vir immediately dashed to another wolf. He used the body of the dead wolf as a weapon and threw it at another wolf. When he reached one of the wolves, he raised his right hand to punch the wolf in the face.

Even though the wolf saw the incoming punch and tried to dodge, the speed of the punch was faster than its body. The face of the wolf cave in because of the strong impact. In just a few seconds, Vir already killed 4 wolves.

The young hunters were stunned by the one-sided fight. At first, they wanted to help the muscular man when they saw the wolves surrounding him. However, the other stranger stopped them and said to just keep watching.

They didn’t understand what he meant at first, but now that they saw how the muscular man fight, they finally comprehended that he didn’t need any of their help. The remaining 3 forest wolves lost their intention to fight Vir when they saw he easily killed 4 of their kind.

They ran as fast as they can to save their own lives. Vir just watch the 3 wolves escape and didn’t chase them.
