Wilton shares some cooked fish with Lonzak in the morning. Wilton collects some more apples that he takes around to feed his three horses. Lonzak approaches Wilton as he is feeding the horses.

“I think we need to explore. Why don’t you walk North for a few hours then turn around and come back. I’m thinking of heading South.” The orc suggests.

“Why wouldn’t we explore in the same direction?” Wilton asks.

“We need to cover more ground.” Lonzak growls.

“Alright, I’ll head North.” Wilton resigns himself to the action.

“Good,” Lonzak says before he walks past the halfling and heads south.

Wilton sighs and heads north. He walks across the plains. The halfling sees horses, sheep, and cows as he goes. He finds an elderberry bush and picks five berries. He continues on spotting a strange bird in the distance. Like a giant chicken but with a scaled tail and the legs of a raptor.

The bird spots him and charges. Wilton turns tail and runs, screaming for help, as the bird gives chase. He glances over his shoulder and locks eyes with the bird. Its stare is intense and leaves Wilton feeling sick. Wilton turns back and continues to run, but he sweats profusely as his body burns. The halfling knows that he was poisoned but he doesn’t know if its possible to poison with a stare.

He runs towards a herd of cattle, bobbing and weaving through them. The bird leaps into the middle of the herd, quickly slashing with a foot, slicing the throat of a cow. The other cattle flee and Wilton follows. Doing his best to stay down.

He makes it back to the burrow, leans over, and vomits. Wretching with sickness as he upheaves bile. The halfling moves to the entrance to the burrow and sinks to the ground. He is going to wait for the orc to get back.
